00:00If he sees that as appropriate, then heaven knows what he's intended to do with other women in hotel
00:07rooms. Sasha Baron Cohen is offering some new behind-the-scenes details from filming that
00:12much-talked-about encounter with Rudy Giuliani in a seemingly compromising position in his newly
00:17released Borat sequel. In a Monday night appearance on The Late Show with Stephen
00:21Colbert, the actor explains that while Giuliani thought he was alone in the hotel room with
00:25actress Maria Bacalova, Baron Cohen was in fact waiting in a hideaway in the closet.
00:42However, once he got in there, Baron Cohen said he switched on the phone and realized the battery
00:46life was at just 3%.
00:48And I thought, hold on, we've got Rudy Giuliani, we've got the president's lawyer, we've got this
00:54scene, this is the climax of the movie, and no one thought it might be worth charging the phone.
01:01The actor explained that he was able to keep the phone from dying by toggling back and forth
01:04between airplane mode. Baron Cohen also explained that Giuliani brought an ex-policeman to the
01:09interview, and the former cop did a sweep of the hotel suite before the interview started.
01:14His security guard sits outside the room, ensuring that no one could come in and out.
01:20Since the controversial moment made headlines, Giuliani has fired back at Baron Cohen,
01:25calling the scene a hit job, adding,
01:27President Donald Trump also responded to the incident involving his personal attorney,
01:35Giuliani, calling Baron Cohen a creep and a phony, and saying he doesn't find Baron Cohen funny.
01:41The actor shot back that he doesn't find Trump funny either, and on The Late Show,
01:44Baron Cohen once again fired back at the president.
01:47Well, I'm sure when he was hanging out with his good friend Jeffrey Epstein,
01:51they probably spent a lot of their time talking about how creepy I am.
