'It: Chapter Two' stayed atop the chart in its second weekend with a strong $41 million, while 'The Goldfinch' marked one of the worst starts ever for a movie opening in more than 2,500 cinemas.

00:00Hustlers scored big time over the weekend, taking in an incredible $33 million at the
00:13domestic box office. These numbers, coming in ahead of a projected $25 million debut,
00:18means the female ensemble film, led by Jennifer Lopez, is now the actress's best
00:23live-action opening ever. Not only this, but Hustlers even topped the domestic debut of
00:282018's Crazy Rich Asians, which earned $26.5 million to mark this as Constance Wu's best
00:34opening at the box office. The R-rated pick came in a strong second behind New Line and
00:38Warner Bros.'s It Chapter 2, which earned $40.7 million in its sophomore outing for a
00:44domestic total of $153.8 million. Hustlers is based on real-life events chronicled in a
00:502015 New York Magazine story and stars Wu and Lopez as exotic dancers that lead a band
00:55of fellow dancers in a plot to drug and steal from wealthy Wall Street clientele in a
00:59recession-driven New York City. The film also earned rave reviews during its tipped debut,
01:04with Lopez even garnering some early Oscar buzz for her performance. Hustlers also
01:09starring Julia Stiles, Kiki Palmer, Lili Reinhardt, Cardi B and Lizzo boasts an 87%
