'The Fall Guy' kicks off the summer box office on top – but still lands below expectations. And are the 'Star Wars' prequels making a comeback? We're breaking down the weekend's box office numbers on today's THR Charts: The Breakdown for Monday, May 6th.

00:08I'm Leslie Corral, and I'm breaking down this weekend's box office numbers on today's THR charts.
00:13The Breakdown, for Monday, May 6th.
00:14You've done this a million times.
00:16And so have you. You know, you just jinxed it.
00:19You just jinxed it!
00:20The action comedy starring Ryan Gosling debuted at number one, with $27.7 million.
00:26The film also stars Emily Blunt and is inspired by the 1980 show.
00:29And while it did debut on top, it still fell below expectations, which were about $30 to $35 million.
00:35This weekend's box office is actually down 53% from the same time last year,
00:40when Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy 3 did bananas at the box office.
00:44Universal is hoping that The Fall Guy's good reviews and audience scores grows its numbers in the following weeks.

00:55Actually, it's part of Disney's re-release and celebration of the film's 25th anniversary.
