00:08running down the latest, highest-grossing films in today's episode of THR Charts,
00:13The Breakdown, for July 8th.

00:19That doesn't count.
00:22Despicable Me 4 rule the 4th of July box office,
00:25with an estimated five-day total here in the U.S. of $122.6 million.
00:30That's in line with expectations,
00:32and a strong start for this,
00:34the sixth installment of the Despicable Me Minions series,
00:37which, by the way, ranks as the highest-grossing animated franchise of all time.
00:42Junior! Junior, come back here!
00:46Despicable Me 4 sees Gru, voiced by Steve Carell,
00:49welcome a new son, Gru Jr.,
00:51and face off against a new nemesis, voiced by Will Ferrell.
00:55Fun fact, the movie was actually co-written by Mike White,
00:58the man behind The White Lotus.
01:00All right, moving on to number two at the box office.
01:03Hello, everybody!
01:04Oh my gosh!
01:06Another animated success story.
01:08Inside Out 2, with $30 million,
01:10for a total growth so far of over $533 million.
01:14And did you know that actually last weekend,
01:16Inside Out 2 joined the Billion Dollar Club in global sales,
01:21and in record time, 19 days!
01:23Coming in at number three, A Quiet Place, Day 1.
01:27Another franchise flick!
01:28This one brought in $21 million this weekend.
01:31In fourth, A24 slasher film, Maxine, with $6.7 million.
01:36And rounding out the top five,
01:38Bad Boys for Life, Ride or Die, with $6.5 million.
01:41And there you have it.
