00:08numbers on today's THR Charts The Breakdown for Monday, August 19th.
00:12Are you sure you want to do this?
00:14Alien Romulus scared up a strong debut. It topped the domestic chart with $41.5 million,
00:20well ahead of projections. I spoke to director Fede Alvarez at the film's Hollywood premiere,
00:25and he told me this about the movie's use of practical effects.
00:28It just went all the way to create creatures with the technology of today, right? With the philosophy
00:33of the old movies, but with technology of today to create something that people don't see on screen
00:38every day. As for the rest of the chart, Deadpool and Wolverine came in second after dominating the
00:42box office for three consecutive weekends. Hi, Peanut. I'm going to need you to come with me
00:47right now. The Marvel and Disney movie made another $29 million, for a domestic total so far of $545.8
00:53million. It Ends With Us ended up in third. The movie brought in $24 million its second weekend
00:59in theaters, for domestic total so far of $97.7 million.
01:03If one day you had a daughter, what would you say to her?
01:07In its first seven days, the movie earned $73.7 million, which is the best showing of the year
01:13so far for a non-sequel. Twisters was number four. And the 15th anniversary release of Coraline
01:18rounded out the top five. And there you have it, your box office top five.
