At the premiere of 'The White Lotus' season three, Tayme Thapthimthong opens up about what it was like to share so many scenes with Lisa from BLACKPINK. Plus, he tells THR how he bonded with his castmates on set.

00:02So what did you think when you first read Mike White's scripts?

00:05Oh man, it was amazing.

00:08Because I usually don't even read that much.

00:10I usually just watch a lot of movies and TV shows.

00:14So this is one of the first things that I read,

00:17and it was just, I couldn't put it down.

00:20You know, I put it down for maybe dinner,

00:23and then I couldn't wait to pick it back up and read it in bed.

00:26It was just such a well-written show.

00:29All the characters have such good roles in this series.

00:37So yeah, I can't wait for you guys to watch it, really.

00:39Very excited.

00:40And Mike said that this season is darker than the past two.

00:42How do you feel like that kind of manifests?

00:45Darker? Yeah, I guess it does have a...

00:48Yeah, I guess it is a little darker, yes.

00:51Yeah, but also set in a very beautiful tropical island.

00:57So it really brings like a nice mix of, you know, dark,

01:01but also just like jolly and sort of feel of freedom, you know, on that island.

01:08And you share a lot of scenes with Lisa.

01:10What was that like kind of working with her on her first acting role?

01:13It was amazing, to say the least, because, you know, I know how...

01:19who she is before getting on this show.

01:22And for her to sort of work with me and, you know,

01:25sort of we got to know each other so well on an offset,

01:28because she really made the effort to sort of, you know, give me a call and like,

01:32oh, do you want to come have lunch? Do you want to have dinner?

01:34Do you want to go on a little boat trip tomorrow?

01:37We got the day off.

01:38Because our schedules were pretty much the same.

01:41And with other cast, you know, when we worked, they would be off, you know.

01:46So most of the time was spent with her until it was the weekends

01:51and then we'd get everyone together and we'd do a bit of karaoke

01:54or we'd do like a nice dinner party.

01:57So it was amazing.

01:58And she really helped me out with the Thai dialogue quite a lot, yeah.

02:03I was going to say, the cast bonding on this seems like it would be amazing.

02:06A lot of activities it seems like you guys could get up to.

02:08What was that?

02:09What did you guys kind of check off the list?

02:11Well, you know, it was a lot of water sports because it was boiling when we were there,

02:16especially during the months of April and May, where it's like the hottest time in Thailand.

02:22And, you know, it was really fun taking some of the cast out and doing the Songkran festival.

02:28I think we were on Phuket at that point.

02:32Not Samui, but Phuket had, you know, obviously lots of these streets

02:37that are just like packed with water guns and water fights.

02:41So it was really nice to experience that with the cast.
