00:00Sam Ryan, the Chair of the Southern Valleys Cotton and Growers Association, a farm in
00:03Murramay between Leighton and Griffith.
00:06Our valley this year, we're back a fair bit on hectares, down from 80,000 hectares last
00:11year to about 35,000 to 40,000 planted for this season coming.
00:14A bit of a mild start to the season, but reasonable establishment, especially with a variety like
00:19this at 619.
00:22Plants are coming along well.
00:23A little bit of thrip pressure early, but we're soon to be growing through that now.
00:27Just hoping for some more weather to see us through for the rest of the season and hopefully
00:32some more water allocation and availability.
