00:01Please welcome your host, Jeanette Munraro.
00:19Music
00:21Hello and welcome to your midweek edition of It Takes Two Live on BBC Two
00:29and iPlayer.
00:30The Strictly Book of 2025 is well into its latter chapters and this is where the plot
00:37gets really juicy.
00:39This weekend our six celebs will be dancing for a place in the quarterfinals.
00:46Who will survive?
00:47Well, that bit is still unwritten.
00:50Before all that though, here's a novel idea.
00:53It's time to tell you what the story is tonight and it's an absolute page turner.
00:59They rope themselves into the Blackpool history books with the ballroom's first ever tens
01:03for a salsa.
01:05George and Alexis are here for a debrief shortly.
01:08It's five down, one to go as far as our Christmas celebs reveal go and we've got the final cracker
01:13to pull.
01:15Find out who it is a little later on.
01:17And it's finally here.
01:18And it's finally here.
01:19The Pro Challenge starts tonight.
01:20Very soon we'll be revealing who the first contender is as this lot compete for a brand
01:26new world record.
01:28But first, speaking of contenders.
01:31On Saturday night, Balvinda achieved her dream of performing an Argentine tango in the
01:36Tower Ballroom.
01:37And what a performance it was.
01:39Monty called her the comeback queen.
01:41Luckily for us, she's come back from Blackpool to have a chat.
01:44Here's a reminder.
01:45I loved your intensity.
01:52I loved your characterisation.
01:56I would have liked to have seen smoother weight changes and transitions.
02:02But I think this style actually suits you really, really well.
02:08You were so defined.
02:10I absolutely loved that.
02:12You keep fighting, girl.
02:18Give it up for Balvinda and Julian.
02:21Oh, Bal.
02:23You dreamed of getting to dance the Argentine tango in the Blackpool Tower.
02:27You've done it now.
02:28How much did it live up to your expectations?
02:29I mean, and some.
02:31Expectations and some.
02:33I didn't think we'd get to Blackpool first thing.
02:36But to dance the Argentine tango in such a special, beautiful, kind of important place
02:43like the ballroom, Tower Ballroom, just felt really profound.
02:49Because it all sort of happened at the right time for us, you know?
02:53And it's not lost on me how hard we worked to get there for dance-offs and all that kind
02:58of stuff.
02:59All that thing.
03:00You know, but yeah.
03:01So it meant even more to be there at that time and perform that particular dance.
03:05Yes.
03:06That's what we love.
03:07Honestly, you were so good.
03:08And Jules, everyone has spoken about the atmosphere at the Blackpool Tower on the night.
03:12What was it like for you as a pro being there?
03:15Honestly, it's kind of hard to describe.
03:18I think the fact that there was no dance-off as well.
03:21It just meant that I felt like we were putting on a show.
03:25And I've never felt, oh, I've never been in a room quite like that.
03:30Where, first of all, the audience was on fire.
03:32Yeah.
03:33They were electric.
03:34Whoever, you know, guys who came to watch, thank you.
03:36Yeah.
03:37It was absolutely cracker.
03:39And then because we had so much energy from the audience and then everyone knew that they
03:44were safe, there was just this kind of like, no one was really relaxed because everyone
03:48still wants to like, you know, give their best.
03:50But there was just this unbelievable positivity around the room.
03:53Yes.
03:54And everyone was just so joyful and it just felt like a-
03:56And everybody was cheering each other on.
03:57Yeah.
03:58Yeah.
03:59Genuinely.
04:00I was there and everyone was screaming for everyone.
04:01It felt like a celebration of dance.
04:02Yeah.
04:03It felt like a celebration of each other.
04:04Yes.
04:05Which was just, I'll be forever grateful that we got to share that as a group as well.
04:07Speaking of the dance, we need to talk about that dance because the Argentine Tango,
04:10honestly, it was just so stunning.
04:12You were so in the zone as well, particularly in this part.
04:16Have a look.
04:19One, two, three, four, five.
04:22I mean, how focused were you to make this dance be as special as it was?
04:27Well, because it was something that I really wanted to do, I had to prove to myself that
04:32I could do it.
04:33Yes.
04:34And so, you know, the kind of determination to get it right and make sure that we sort
04:39of projected that out towards the audience as well and that they enjoyed it just as much
04:43as I did was really important for me.
04:45Yeah.
04:46That was a really strange section because I've been working with Jules and I feel very
04:53protected and safe with Jules.
04:55And we sort of have an understanding of, you know, the language that we speak.
04:59Yeah.
05:00Dancing with new people felt very scary.
05:02So was that tricky for you?
05:03Because you were so used to being with Jules.
05:04Yeah.
05:05It was weird for me as well.
05:06Yeah.
05:07When they were like, she's going to dance with the girls, I was like, so I'm not involved?
05:09And I was watching from afar and I'm like, that's my partner.
05:12Aww.
05:13And I felt kind of protective.
05:15I was like, let me help.
05:17Let me help.
05:18We're surely proud because she did so well.
05:20Oh, so immensely proud because I wanted, in that section, I said to Belle, I'm like, this
05:25is your moment.
05:26Like, show everyone that you're not scared to stand next to two professional dancers.
05:31You own it.
05:32Absolutely.
05:33And you take that space and I think she absolutely did that.
05:34It was also great for the storytelling element of, you know, the gender fluid thing.
05:37Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:38I had lots of messages from EastEnders fans because obviously, you know, Sookie plays a lesbian
05:44and they were just like, this is amazing representation.
05:46This is brilliant.
05:47So they really enjoyed it from that aspect.
05:48So we made everybody happy.
05:49We made everybody happy.
05:50That's what we're all about.
05:51Well, it led to your second highest scoring dance of the series.
05:54So congratulations.
05:55Whoop, whoop, whoop.
05:56And Jules, you seemed particularly delighted with the scores because this is your reaction
06:01when you got the eight.
06:03What did it mean to you to finally get your first eight from Craig and the nine?
06:06That was the one that was for me.
06:08Yeah.
06:09I think I gave production a little bit of a bit of a scare because I said, shut the front
06:13door and I think they were freaking out that I was going to say something else.
06:16I know.
06:17But I didn't.
06:18You didn't.
06:19We're good.
06:20We're good.
06:21You shut the door on that rumor.
06:22Exactly.
06:23Exactly.
06:24Let's move on to this week.
06:25Congratulations.
06:26You are through.
06:27No eliminations.
06:28We're all happy because this week you're doing a jive.
06:29Yes.
06:30And you are doing a jive to this.
06:32Right back where we started from, Maxine's Nightingale.
06:38I will be honest.
06:39When this was revealed in the results show, you were a little bit nervous about the pace
06:43of the dance.
06:44How has it been in training then this week?
06:46Yeah, I'm still nervous.
06:47You're still nervous.
06:48Nothing's changed.
06:49It's still very fast.
06:50This is you today.
06:51It's looking good.
06:52Look at the flakes.
06:53Yes.
06:54Oh, wow.
06:55Yeah.
06:56What was the feeling about it?
06:57That was one run, yeah.
06:58And then the next time we did.
06:59It wasn't so great.
07:01I mean, it sort of is there and then it isn't there, you know?
07:05So, yeah, I think my issue is that once I get the routine, then everything sort of comes.
07:11But because I don't, I'm not quite confident on what happens next, I'm still faltering quite
07:15a bit.
07:16Okay.
07:17But, yeah.
07:18It's okay.
07:19It's only Wednesday.
07:20You've still got time.
07:21Yeah.
07:22Do not panic.
07:23Right.
07:24That she thought it would be great to get a mix of swing and jive mixed in together in
07:27the choreography.
07:28Have you taken her advice?
07:29Yeah, we've definitely done that.
07:30Oh, good.
07:31I think in general, in terms of jive, I like a swingy jive.
07:34Me too, actually.
07:35Much more.
07:36And I think as well, we always say, you know, we're storytellers first and then we're dancers.
07:41And so that doesn't change this week.
07:43And I think we really want to push the, you know, the idea that we're trying to, you know,
07:47focus on the narrative and it's a really fun story that we're trying to tell this week.
07:51And so the choreography lends itself to that with a bit more swing elements.
07:55As well, Bao, you know, has done Charleston in the past and she nailed the Charleston.
07:58Yes, she did.
07:59So I really wanted to tap into something that was familiar as well.
08:02Yeah.
08:03As well as all the stuff that isn't familiar.
08:04It looks like he's really thought about this, Bao.
08:05Absolutely.
08:06He's really thought about it.
08:07He's working to my strengths.
08:08He's working to your strengths.
08:09I love it.
08:10We're ten weeks in.
08:11I thought I'd really start.
08:12We do need to talk though about the instant dance, which I know is going to happen this
08:15weekend.
08:16Have you discussed which dance you would like to get, ideally?
08:20I think Bao would like the Foxtrot.
08:22I'd like the Foxtrot.
08:23Okay.
08:24But Jules would quite like the Samba.
08:26I would love the Samba.
08:27But I'm a little bit nervous about the Samba.
08:29Because I think Bao wants the Foxtrot because she wants to do well.
08:33I want the Samba because I would just, I think it'd just be hilarious.
08:36You just want to have fun and fly through the floor.
08:39Worst case, we just shimmy everywhere.
08:41And the thing is, you've got to prepare for both.
08:43We'll see.
08:44But we can't wait to see you both on Saturday.
08:46Good luck.
08:47Let's hear it for Balvinda and Julian.
08:51Okay.
08:52This week our couples have a real balancing act on their hands in training.
08:56How much time do you commit to your main dance?
08:58How much to your instant dance?
09:00It's a minefield.
09:01Let's see how Alex, Lewis and Amber are dealing with the extra pressure.
09:04This week we are doing the Roomba.
09:09What we're working on is a lot of transferring of weight.
09:13All the way down to the floor.
09:15Balance is something that we're constantly seeking.
09:18Now your torso is rotated from the armpits.
09:21Wow.
09:22We have so many body parts that help us to stay in balance.
09:26We just need to use them.
09:28Your ribcage on top.
09:29Good.
09:30Start.
09:31I mean it's easier said than done.
09:33It's getting worse.
09:34It's getting worse.
09:35There's a lot to think about.
09:36Yeah.
09:37A little delayed reaction there.
09:38That was good.
09:39One and two.
09:40I'm really looking forward to doing the cha cha cha.
09:42Apparently I've got quite flexible hips.
09:45They're moving.
09:46Down, up, down, up.
09:49The body position in a cha cha cha, I always say you lead with your nose.
09:53That just puts your posture in the right place.
09:56Cha cha cha.
09:58Nice.
09:59I feel like I'm being a bit of a Christmas turkey.
10:03I love that turkey.
10:04It is there.
10:05Body forward, bum back.
10:08The jive is a lot more complex than I anticipated.
10:21Yes, it's high energy.
10:24Your feet have to be sharp.
10:29Your legs have to be quick.
10:32It's very hard and it's very quick.
10:34But Amber is trying her hardest.
10:37Nice one.
10:38You have to be leant over slightly.
10:42One, two, three, four.
10:44It's so hard.
10:45That is so complex.
10:48Yes, it is quite complex.
10:54Still to come tonight, George and Alexis are here to reflect on Blackpool.
10:58Plus, it's the return of the Pro Challenge.
11:01But first, it's time to complete this year's Strictly Christmas special lineup.
11:07Here's a quick reminder of our festive feast so far.
11:11Goggle Boxing Day comes a day early.
11:14It's Scarlet Moffat.
11:15We could never, ever leave her off our Christmas card list.
11:19It's Melanie Black.
11:21Fury down the chimney tonight.
11:23It's Jodie Ounceley.
11:25Santa Baba slip a sable under the tree.
11:28It's Babatunda Alishi.
11:30And we love a Christmas Baileys.
11:33It's Nicholas Bailey.
11:35But who is the sixth and final celebrity?
11:38Let's find out.
11:40It's...
11:43Brian McClatton!
11:51Hello, how are you doing?
11:53Good.
11:54I love that you were holding your own face.
11:55That was amazing.
11:56What a lineup, Brian.
11:57It's going to be fun, huh?
11:58What a lineup.
11:59How exciting.
12:00What was your reaction like when you found out you were going to take part?
12:02I was really excited because, you know, I've been...
12:05My little daughter Ruby is absolutely obsessed with Strictly this year.
12:08Is she?
12:09So as soon as she comes home from school, it's back on.
12:11We watch Saturdays and Sundays every single day.
12:13So we've really got into it.
12:15And then when I got the phone call to do the Christmas special, I was like, you've got to be kidding.
12:18What about timing for that?
12:19So our household is so excited right now.
12:21They're even watching at home now.
12:22Hello.
12:23Hello, familia.
12:24Hi, Ruby.
12:25Now, you have been a talent show judge on Australian Idol and Australia's Got Talent.
12:30But which judge are you hoping to impress over here?
12:34Oh, God.
12:35All of them, I would think.
12:36Yeah, that would be good.
12:37Probably Anton, I guess.
12:40Nice.
12:41Because he's a golfer.
12:42He's a golfer, so I think, you know, I could let him win in golf next time if he gives me a good score.
12:47And he's walked the shoes.
12:48He was a pro on the show for many, many years.
12:49Yeah, he's brilliant, by the way.
12:50I absolutely love him.
12:51He's doing great.
12:52Craig, obviously, you know, he's very hard to impress, isn't he?
12:54So I'm not expecting much from him to like.
12:56He might be having a bit of mince pie and be in a good mood.
12:59Maybe, yeah.
13:00He might be festive.
13:01Exactly.
13:02And what made you and the rest of Celebs take part?
13:04What did you make of the rest of Celebs?
13:05Sorry, taking part.
13:06What did I make of the rest of the Celebs?
13:07Yeah, yeah.
13:08I was very excited.
13:09I actually bumped into Mel the other day when we were rehearsing.
13:12So I haven't seen Mel since, like, way back in the kind of 90s pop days.
13:16So it was lovely to see her.
13:18Well, look at that line-up.
13:19I know Scarlett's supposed to be an amazing dancer.
13:21I've heard that.
13:22That she's supposed to be incredible.
13:23Oh, really?
13:24Is that a secret?
13:25I don't know.
13:26You tell me.
13:27You tell me.
13:28She's supposed to be an incredible dancer.
13:29Is she?
13:30Well, we'll all find out on Christmas Day, won't we?
13:31But I can exclusively reveal which Strictly Pro you're going to be dancing with.
13:37Mm-hmm.
13:38And it's...
13:40Michelle!
13:41Look at her.
13:43She's amazing.
13:44What do you make of the pairing?
13:45How do you feel?
13:46Well, I've already met her, so I knew already.
13:47Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:48We've already been rehearsing for two days.
13:50Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:51She is brilliant.
13:53When I found out I was with Michelle, I knew...
13:55Now, I can't tell you what dance I'm doing.
13:57Nope, nope.
13:58I'm saving that.
13:59But I'm getting a little bit older.
14:00I'm not as fit as I used to be.
14:01And when I saw it with Michelle, I know what her specialties are.
14:04Right.
14:05So I knew I was going to have some hard work ahead of me.
14:07Ooh.
14:08But she is an incredible teacher and she's been a great partner so far.
14:10So you're having a lovely time training together.
14:11Yeah, yeah, she's brilliant.
14:12Which is great.
14:13Well, you're going to be amazing.
14:14Thank you for joining us.
14:15Oh, thank you.
14:16We're going to watch you dancing on Christmas Day.
14:17Oh, I can't wait.
14:18Let's hear it for Brian McPadden.
14:19Well, now we know who will be fighting it out for the Strictly Christmas Glitter Ball.
14:26It's on to a competition where our pros fight it out for a world record.
14:30And when it comes to drama, it really does have all the trimmings.
14:34It's the return of the Pro Challenge.
14:37Over to you, Shirley.
14:39The Strictly Pro Challenge is back.
14:43Our professional dancers are attempting to set a world record for the most samba whisks performed in 30 seconds.
14:53This year, there's a new queen in town.
14:58And I don't miss a beat.
15:02I will be joined by official adjudicator, Will Munford.
15:08The whisk can start in either direction, but must step to the side, cross behind and replace.
15:18In order for the step to qualify, we'll be looking for a flat ball flat movement with one foot on the floor at all times.
15:27The samba bounce is not necessarily needed on this occasion.
15:33Any mistakes and the step will be disqualified.
15:37No!
15:38Is this hot, son?
15:39No!
15:40I lost it!
15:41Ah!
15:42Only one pro can be victorious.
15:45Welcome to the Strictly Pro Challenge 2025.
15:52Thanks to Queen Shirley for that lovely demo of the samba whisk.
15:56Right.
15:57Our first contender this year is one of our longest serving Strictly Pros now in her ninth year.
16:03They currently hold the glitter ball trophy and will be looking to add a world record trophy to their trophy cabinets.
16:09We're absolutely buzzing for Diane Buswell!
16:16Yeah, boy!
16:17Oh, there we go!
16:18Diane Buswell, everybody!
16:19Talk about a fighter!
16:20Oh, yeah!
16:21Oh, cool!
16:22What you got?
16:23What you got?
16:24What you got?
16:25What you got?
16:26Sorry, I feel like I've known you my whole life.
16:27We can do that live on air.
16:28Do it.
16:29When it comes to the pro challenge, though, you've just been about everywhere on the leaderboard.
16:30I have.
16:31Except the top.
16:32I know!
16:33What's that all about?
16:34What would it mean to finally win one?
16:35Well, listen, Jeanette, the fact that I'm here first has not given me much hope, so it would be great to win it, but I'm not that hopeful.
16:40Well, listen, you are, though, however, the first pro to do the Strictly Pro challenge.
16:41Yes.
16:42Pregnant.
16:43I am.
16:44Which is lovely.
16:45So, if you win, will you share the world record with your baby?
16:46Oh, of course.
16:47I mean, listen, mate, what is mine is yours.
16:48But if we lose, it's all your fault.
16:49It's all your fault.
16:50It's all your fault.
16:51So, you've just been about everywhere on the leaderboard.
16:52I have.
16:53Except the top.
16:54I know, what's that all about?
16:55What would it mean to finally win one?
16:56Well, listen, Jeanette, the fact that I'm here first has not given me much hope, so it would
16:57be great to win it, but I'm not that hopeful.
16:58Yes.
16:59Pregnant.
17:00I am.
17:01Which is lovely.
17:02Yes.
17:03So, if you win, will you share the world record with your baby?
17:04Oh, of course.
17:05I mean, listen, mate, what is mine is yours.
17:08But if we lose, it's all your fault because you weighed me down, all right?
17:13Speaks the truth.
17:14Speaks the truth.
17:15Well, listen, enough small talk.
17:17Let's see how you got on this year.
17:19Oh, gosh.
17:20All right, let's go.
17:21Come on.
17:23I'm not just dancing for me.
17:25I'm dancing for me and baby.
17:27I can feel him in there, whisking away.
17:30Probably does a better whisk than me at this point.
17:33We can do this.
17:36Oh, Miss Shirley.
17:38I miss Diane.
17:39How are you doing?
17:40Hello.
17:41I'm good, thank you.
17:42Are you excited for this samba challenge?
17:44I'm very excited.
17:45I hope I do you proud.
17:47Now, I'm telling you, if you win this challenge,
17:50little fella in there will have a little record going on, won't it?
17:53Already?
17:54Because there's two of you.
17:55Is he awake?
17:56Is he sleeping?
17:57I was having a little kick before, so I reckon he's going to try and help me.
18:00Please, Diane, take centre stage.
18:03This is an official attempt.
18:06In three, two, one, go.
18:12There you go.
18:13Doing good.
18:14Oh, you've got nice rotation going on there in your body as well.
18:18Keep it moving.
18:19Keep it moving.
18:20How's those legs feeling?
18:21Good.
18:2215 seconds.
18:23Doing good, doing good.
18:24Keep it up.
18:25Keep it up.
18:26Keep it up.
18:27We've got some rhythm going on here.
18:28Wow.
18:29Five, four, three, two, one.
18:30Stop.
18:31Woo!
18:32Woo!
18:33Woo!
18:34I felt like I was doing a bit of a tap dance.
18:36I was trying to get ball flat, ball flat.
18:37But it was good.
18:38I loved it.
18:39Well, you don't sound too winded, so I think that you were carrying your weight in exactly
18:41the right place, so maybe baby did help there.
18:42I think so.
18:43Well done to you.
18:44Thank you, Shirley.
18:45Mwah!
18:46Thank you so much.
18:47Come on, we got this.
18:48Woo-hoo!
18:53I loved every second of it.
18:55Woo-hoo!
18:56Woo-hoo!
18:57I loved every second of it.
18:58Woo-hoo!
18:59Woo-hoo!
19:00Woo-hoo!
19:02Woo-hoo!
19:03Woo-hoo!
19:04Woo-hoo!
19:05Woo-hoo!
19:06Woo-hoo!
19:07Woo-hoo!
19:08Woo-hoo!
19:09Woo-hoo!
19:10Woo-hoo!
19:11Woo-hoo!
19:12Woo-hoo!
19:13Woo-hoo!
19:14Woo-hoo!
19:15Woo-hoo!
19:16Woo-hoo!
19:17Woo-hoo!
19:18Woo-hoo!
19:19Woo-hoo!
19:20Alright guys, so, watching it back, did it look like a tap dance to you?
19:24Ah, you know what, actually, technically, I'm not too, that wasn't too shabby, however,
19:28I was going, come on, Di, pick up your pace, it looked a bit slow to me.
19:33Do you think it was slow?
19:34Mmm, it didn't look fast.
19:35It didn't look fast.
19:36But Shirley did say that you didn't even look winded, though, so that's a good thing.
19:38I was winded, Jeanette, but I was struggling, let me tell you.
19:43Really, so it wasn't one of your easiest challenges in the last nine years?
19:46No, it was quite difficult, it really was.
19:48It was getting that ball flat down and, I mean, Shirley was there.
19:52You can't really go there and not do technique, you know?
19:55She's looking you at the eye, you're like, ah!
19:58So, yeah, it was a bit of pressure, not going to lie.
20:00OK, well, right, the steps have been counted, the results are in.
20:04After each of the professionals made their attempt, the footage was watched back by adjudicators in slow motion
20:11to verify every single step to make sure they were accurate.
20:17Diane, I can reveal that in 30 seconds, you completed 39 steps!
20:31Yes, however, hang on a minute, were there any disqualifications?
20:39I can reveal that this year you had...
20:4937 disqualified!
20:5437!
20:54Sorry, that gives you a total of two, but it does point you at the top of the leaderboard!
21:01I mean...
21:02Wait, I'm so confused!
21:04What did I do wrong?
21:05You are currently the only person on the leaderboard, so I apologise, but listen, take a photo of that, keep it in your heart.
21:09Oh my gosh!
21:11How did that happen?
21:12Well, it was watched in slow motion by the adjudicators.
21:15I thought it was great!
21:17I thought, oh, that technique is great!
21:19But, Diane, do you think you can hold on to that?
21:21I mean, for a day I can, yeah, for sure!
21:24Yeah, for sure!
21:25Who have you got your eye on?
21:26Who do you reckon?
21:27Um, anyone else but me, obviously.
21:31Oh, well, maybe the second heel flat wasn't the one going down.
21:33I don't know, we'll find out.
21:34I feel like I was definitely polite.
21:36But listen, it's...
21:37Can I have a chat with them?
21:38It's all about the taking part.
21:39And you did it.
21:40It's not, Jeanette.
21:41It's really not, alright?
21:42Well, we'll find out who can beat you.
21:43Let's see.
21:44Let's hear it for this year's first challenger, Diane!
21:49I'm sorry.
21:51Right, it's time for my final couple of this evening.
21:54And although he may not know how to feel about being part of Blackpool history,
21:58George is now Tower Ballroom Royalty.
22:02Salsa King George I.
22:12And you, George, with a fantastic vibe.
22:15You had to keep everybody else on time.
22:18You did it immaculately.
22:19That's your best dance so far.
22:23Your hips were swinging, darling.
22:25Those lifts were absolutely incredible.
22:28You are the true star.
22:32George, this is how you set down Blackpool!
22:40Give it up for George and Alexis.
22:42Right, before we get into it, you got your first tens of the series.
22:45Yep.
22:46And the first ever Blackpool Salsa Tens.
22:53Do you like the salsa fan?
22:54Rose, my personal favourite.
22:55I do like the shimmy.
22:56Have you come down from the high of Saturday night yet, George?
22:58I don't know.
22:59I feel like this has reignited it.
23:00Yeah!
23:01Do you like it?
23:02Stop it, guys.
23:03Yeah.
23:04Tell me again.
23:05But Alexis, George has been criticised in the recent weeks for not really fully letting
23:09go when he's dancing.
23:10How much of a turning point do you think this dance was for him?
23:13I feel like it was definitely his biggest turning point.
23:16And it wasn't just the show itself, it was all throughout the rehearsal days as well.
23:20I really sensed a shift.
23:21I feel like he just let go of the pressure putting on himself and just really enjoyed every day and had fun with it.
23:28We also made sure that he did a bunch of sound effects during the dance because we find that he does better when he makes sound.
23:35Right.
23:36I really...
23:37I realised when they released the hidden mic thing, I didn't shut up.
23:41No.
23:42I really just...
23:43Well, I would say that as a note to him.
23:45He would be silent and I'm like, George, make some sound.
23:47Say something.
23:48It helps.
23:49It really did.
23:50It does help.
23:51Also, George, there was a move that we've seen before, come up, that came up in the salsa.
23:55And you did this move way back in the beginning, right at the show.
23:58Oh, yeah.
23:59You brought it back.
24:00Oh, in the exact same jacket and trousers as well.
24:01That's embarrassing.
24:02So tell me about the move.
24:03Where'd it come from?
24:04Why'd you bring it back?
24:05Nostalgia?
24:06I don't know.
24:07My great granddad used to do it.
24:08Oh, right.
24:09It's gone through generations.
24:10Yes.
24:11No, I really don't know why I did that.
24:12They said in the VT, well, they said in the opening VT, have you got any special moves?
24:17I was like, I really realised I don't dance.
24:20So I was like, oh, sure, I'll just pop a hip, I guess.
24:23I'm not going to lie.
24:24When I watched that little move, it made me smile so much.
24:26Because I was like, he's loving himself.
24:28I had the best time.
24:29You did close the show.
24:30Very exciting always to close the show.
24:32And it was the first time you closed the show.
24:33Also, you had the luxury of knowing that there wasn't going to be any eliminations going on as well.
24:38Alexis, do you think that had an impact on your performance?
24:41To a degree, yes.
24:42I feel like we definitely were still nervous more than ever going into the dance.
24:46That doesn't change.
24:47I think what changed the most about knowing that there wasn't an elimination was that we didn't
24:52end the show on a sad note.
24:54Right.
24:55You know, because I feel like we ended on a happy note and there was just light in the room.
24:59But yeah, we both were still very nervous going into our routine.
25:02I know, and closing the show.
25:03That didn't change.
25:04Closing the show puts much shine.
25:05Yeah.
25:06Especially when it was such a good show.
25:07It was amazing.
25:08Everybody was like on their A game.
25:09It was an incredible show.
25:10And then they're like, go on then, try and end that.
25:11Sure, okay, I'll give it a go.
25:14But you did it.
25:15And you did it well, George.
25:16Just saying.
25:18But there was also a group number that you haven't been doing group number since week
25:21one was the last time you did a group number.
25:23Kaz Carney posted this on socials of the two of you having a little practice with Luba,
25:27helping you out as well.
25:28And I had, and had, and had, and walk, and I walk, walk, and I walk.
25:36But was it nice being a part of the team again with everyone?
25:39Yeah, no, it's, I mean, we realized this when we were sort of training, that actually had
25:44training behind it.
25:45I don't know if people were.
25:46We did practice.
25:47Yeah.
25:48Yeah, when we were doing this sort of like rehearsal for that, we realized we haven't
25:52actually had a chance where we can all just sit down and just chat.
25:54Because we've all, we all sort of cross paths, but we've all got our own like routines where
25:58we're cross.
25:59So it was the first time we had like 40, 50 minutes to just sit down and just chat.
26:02And you're like, why not do a bit of steps while we do that as well.
26:05Lovely.
26:06Yeah.
26:07So it's another busy week again, because you're going to be dancing the quick step to
26:10this.
26:11Yeah, I get a kick.
26:14I get a kick out of you, Frank Sinatra.
26:17George, it's a classic ballroom dance, classic ballroom song.
26:21How much of a kick are you getting out of the dance in the week?
26:23I'm really enjoying it.
26:24It's weird because it's a completely different sort of vibe from last week.
26:28And this is yesterday.
26:29This is looking really, look at that frame.
26:31Stop it.
26:32Are you enjoying it?
26:33I am.
26:34Yeah.
26:35Despite the fact that there's less of a smile on that face this time.
26:37He's locked in.
26:38I really...
26:40I'm jumping for joy.
26:41Yeah.
26:42No, I am having a really good time.
26:43I think I'm trying to keep the same vibe of last week of, hey, just have off.
26:49And we were going to end on whatever run we did earlier.
26:54Yes.
26:55And then Julian came in and I was like, hey, Jules, check this out.
26:57And then was just being an idiot.
26:59And it was the best one we did.
27:00But it was the best time you did it.
27:01Really?
27:02Yes.
27:03So I think I just need to be an idiot.
27:04Okay.
27:05I mean, I've never heard dance described that way before.
27:07I'll be honest, I've never taken that approach with someone before.
27:09But it works with me.
27:10Okay, well, listen.
27:11Speaking of idiot, we've got this thing coming up called the instant dance.
27:14Yes.
27:15And you said you don't want to take yourself seriously.
27:17You want to have a bit of fun and just enjoy it, right?
27:19Yeah.
27:20Like you just said there for the quick step as well.
27:22Have you had a think, though, about the outfits that you want to wear?
27:25I, my thought process is that's the one part.
27:28Well, don't worry.
27:29We've got you some support because we know that some of these will definitely be lying around
27:33somewhere backstage and they might be a possibility.
27:35First one up is an outfit worn by Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills.
27:40Here we go.
27:41A crab.
27:42Okay.
27:43That works.
27:44We've also got this one from Richie Anderson.
27:47Richie Anderson.
27:48Yeah, Timo.
27:49Okay.
27:50Yeah.
27:51That's really scary.
27:52We've also got maybe this one, classic from Max George.
27:55Yeah, Homer Simpson.
27:56Oh.
27:57Any favourites?
27:58I feel sorry for Diane.
27:59That's disgusting.
28:00What do you reckon?
28:01My head looks huge there.
28:02I think we need all of them on the rack.
28:03Let's put all of them together.
28:04Yes.
28:05Yes.
28:06I want that wig.
28:07You want the wig.
28:08How are you feeling about the instant dance, though?
28:11We tried a little today.
28:13I feel worse.
28:14Yes.
28:15Yes.
28:16But listen, don't worry, because just to clarify, you won't actually be wearing any of those
28:19outfits on Saturday, but we just wanted you to have a look, let loose, and enjoy yourselves
28:24a bit.
28:25Good luck.
28:27I'm excited to see what you guys come up with on Saturday night.
28:29Let's hear it for George and Alexis.
28:33That's it for tonight.
28:34What a packed show.
28:35Thanks to all my guests.
28:36I'm back tomorrow when Vicky Gill is in the house to look ahead to this Saturday's outfit,
28:40and we'll be taking a final trip to the ballroom to see how the rest of our couples are getting
28:44on.
28:45Until then, have a good night.
28:59I'll be back tomorrow.
29:01Thanks.
29:04That's what you look forward.
29:05I've listened to it.
29:06I'm glad we're looking forward to that.
29:07I can see how the rest of our families are getting on the chairs in the house.
29:10It'll be good and a very good part.
29:11I'm glad we're getting on the walls.
29:12If we don't know the chairs in the house.
29:13If we don't know the chairs that毎ver hands we're doing, then we're coming.
29:15We'll be really well by one of the chairs in the house.
29:16We're getting on the chairs in the house.
29:17We'll bring that.
29:18We'll be very warm.
29:19We're going to come to the chairs.
29:20We'll be quite nice.
29:21We'll be quelconic, we'll be loving the chairs in the house.
