00:00Just talk a little bit about your junior development, what type of player you were
00:05into amateur golf at Oklahoma, and what do you think shaped you at an early age to be a very
00:11successful junior and amateur player? I started playing golf when I was 11 months old. I started
00:19walking early, and my mom played golf at Oklahoma. My dad played football at Oklahoma, but he's
00:24not anymore. He's probably about a four or five now, but he was a scratch golfer back in his
00:28heyday. Very good genetics. My grandpa was a basketball player too, but he was also a plus
00:35three or four handicap. Very good golf genetics. I started playing when I was 11 months old.
00:40I played my first tournament when I was three. I just had the natural talent. I won. I got top
00:49five in U.S. Kids World Championship from when I was seven to 12. Finally won it when I was 12.
00:54You're talking to somebody who also got top five at a young age with U.S. Kids.
00:58Yeah. How about that, huh? You and I. Who knew?
01:03That was the best tournament ever growing up. Where did y'all play? Was it Pinehurst for you?
01:08Pinehurst, yeah. So I was at Jekyll Island, man. That's like OG.
01:13Yeah. Yeah. I never did Jekyll Island. I didn't do Jekyll Island. The first year I did it was at
01:18Williamsburg, Virginia. And then when I was seven, and then that next year it went to Pinehurst. So
01:23I mean, that week was always so much fun. I mean, as an eight-year-old, nine-year-old,
01:29I still have memories. It was three events you play every year, you know, and that was one of
01:33the big ones. And it was, I mean, it was awesome. So yeah, played well, obviously, like, you know,
01:38just growing up. And then once I got to like 11, 12, I hit a growth spurt, got to like five,
01:43eight, five, nine, when I was 12. And I started just, you know, hitting a long ways. Where'd you
01:48grow up? So Oklahoma and Texas, a little bit of both. So Oklahoma, then moved down to
01:54Birkinette, Texas when I was two, which is like on the Red River. It's like on the border of
02:00Oklahoma and Texas. And then lived there for nine years, went down to Dallas, went back up to
02:04Oklahoma when I was 15. So. So what, what junior tours are you playing growing up? Was it the
02:09Oklahoma junior tour and then maybe some stuff over in Texas? It was mainly a little
02:14legends junior tour in Texas. Okay. Or maps. I played, you know, Scotty wills out
02:19horse. A lot of those guys. Are y'all all the same age? Are you one year older? You
02:25were both of those guys were one year older than me. They're one year older than
02:28you. Okay. So where we, we try, I mean, especially me, me and Scotty, we, we played
02:32it and played against each other the first time when I was six, he was seven. And so we
02:37have known Scotty for forever. And we traveled together and AJGAs and all that.
