It was Driver's third time as host.
Transcript
00:00Saturday Night Live went to a galaxy far, far away for its first episode back with
00:04Adam Driver at the hosting helm. The actor, who's hosted the NBC sketch comedy show
00:09twice before, opted for a more subdued monologue, claiming to be way more low-key
00:14than the characters he plays.
00:15I'm just going to be myself, open up a bit, and be chill. Can we get some chill music?
00:21No, I don't like that. Can you play something else?
00:24Now, with Driver hosting, of course that meant Kylo Ren made his big return to the
00:29SNL stage, going undercover once again.
00:32In a hilarious follow-up to his 2017 parody of Undercover Boss, the new iteration followed
00:37the same premise, with Driver playing the Sith Lord, going undercover as an intern named Randy.
00:42Hey, what do you guys think? When Kylo Ren offers Rey his hand for the second time,
00:45do you think she'll take it?
00:46Who cares?
00:48I do.
00:50Driver's Ren's Randy, say that five times fast, tried keeping up appearances as a millennial
00:54intern, but when a pilot hopeful said she wanted to fly like Luke Skywalker,
00:58he, uh, took her out with his lightsaber.
01:00Driver also lent a hand to a number of sketches throughout the night, including
01:04a cheerleading coach and a parody of the popular new Netflix docuseries Cheer,
01:08a father awkwardly confronting a bunch of teen girls at a sleepover, and the host of a
01:12PBS Kids' science program, among others. Driver also popped in for SNL's Cold Open,
01:17which tackled President Trump's impeachment proceedings.
01:20Alec Baldwin did not show up as Trump, but John Lovitz made a surprise cameo
01:24as Trump defense lawyer Alan Dershowitz. Midway through the sketch, Lovitz's
01:28Dershowitz had a heart attack and was transported to hell, where he was greeted by
01:32the Devil, played by Kate McKinnon, and Jeffrey Epstein.
01:36Jeffrey Epstein! Great to see you! What are you doing here?
01:42Just hanging.
01:44I'll swear, Melissa Vela Signora dropped by the Weekend Update desk to sing her original
01:48Oscar songs and noticed a reoccurring theme with a lot of the nominated films.
