00:00Hi, nice to meet you today.
00:03What did you think when you first read the script?
00:07I think, I thought like, wow, oh my god, how are we gonna,
00:10if anyone could pull this off, it'd be Alex Garland,
00:12but this is gonna be quite the journey.
00:15But I have all the faith in the world in him,
00:18and I knew, I've worked with him before,
00:20this is my second project with him,
00:22so I knew he was gonna handle this delicately,
00:26and it's kind of amazing how it's a true blockbuster film
00:30that keeps you on your edge of your seat,
00:32but while also handling such delicate subject matter.
00:37You guys shot this two years ago,
00:38but obviously now you're releasing it six months before an election
00:41at a pretty crazy time,
00:42how does that timing kind of feel for you?
00:44I don't know, it's an A24 question,
00:46but you know, but I think, you know,
00:52it would have been timely a year ago,
00:54it would be timely a year later, you know,
00:57it's just, it's, I just hope that people
01:00will start having conversations,
01:02and that it'll sort of open up our minds,
01:07and let us listen to each other more,
01:09because I think it's vital,
01:10and I think it's the only way out of the situation we're in.
01:13What's kind of the biggest thing
01:14you want people to take away from this?
01:16Yeah, it's just that, you know,
01:18it's an anti-war film, it's an anti-polarization film,
01:22and I, I just think it's really needed.
