Transcript
00:00Happy New Year, Jamie Lee Curtis.
00:02Hi, baby.
00:02How are we feeling heading into 2025?
00:05I'm really feeling great that I'm not in the middle of that.
00:08That I'm here with you and almost out.
00:11I know you love coming here, and you were here for Cate Blanchett.
00:16You're here tonight for Nicole Kidman.
00:18Tell me why you say yes to this drive so you can do a nice little tribute to your friends.
00:23It's hardly a hardship to drive to Palm Springs and talk about an artist who I've long admired
00:33and now get to call a friend, a sister on the show.
00:38That's the joy for me, is that I am still here, and I'm getting opportunities now to work with people,
00:45and they ask me to come and talk about them.
00:47And I'm, you know, I'm just happy I'm not stuck in a car somewhere in the middle of that melee.
00:55So tell me, Scarpetta, Nicole Kidman, Nashville, what was that experience like for you?
01:00It's still happening.
01:00It's still happening.
01:01We have another two months.
01:03Almost three, yeah.
01:05Oh, we're in it deep.
01:06Yes, it's going very well.
01:08And what have, you know, as somebody, you just said, getting the chance to work with artists like Nicole,
01:13and like, hey, what have you learned by watching her?
01:15I mean, you obviously bring so much of your own wisdom and self to these experiences,
01:21but, you know, getting these opportunities now, what surprised you most, I guess?
01:27She's just Hamish and real.
01:30She's just a real girl.
01:33You know, she's not this impenetrable thing who I look up to and think,
01:39you know, that she's very approachable, there's a genuine, loving, kind, very gentle, beating heart in this great artist.
01:50And what did you think of Baby Girl?
01:52Oh, my.
01:53I, I loved, I devoured it.
01:57I, I, I have watched it three times.
02:03It's, it's a gorgeous movie.
02:06The filmmaking is beautiful.
02:09The performances are great.
02:11She is magic.
02:14Magic.
02:15Favorite scene?
02:16Um, uh, father figure.
02:23His dance and her, and then the scene after it in bed was incredibly moving.
02:30You know, it's interesting you said that because I was just talking to Helena about that particular song choice.
02:34She is a brilliant director.
02:36Uh, I, I, I probably, if you asked me whom I'm most excited to meet here, it'd be Helena, because she's a great artist.
02:46You can, we can make it happen.
02:48You're good to see her.
02:50Uh, um, and last fun question.
02:53New Year, New Year's resolutions intentions.
02:57Don't apologize.
02:58Stop apologizing.
02:59So it's, it's, I only had one.
03:01I decided I wanted one, and that was to stop apologizing for whatever, for just being me, for doing my work, for not being available.
03:13Just stop apologizing all the time, because I do that a lot.
03:16I'm so sorry.
03:17I'm sorry.
03:18I'm sorry.
03:19I'm just over it.
