Transcript
00:00Hello, I'm Rachel Brayton and I'm from Rebel and Rose in Chapel Allerton.
00:04It's been a great year.
00:05It's been a challenging, quite difficult year, but overall, absolutely brilliant.
00:10The shop has morphed yet again, the business as a whole.
00:14I keep it moving all the time.
00:17I have been in the really lucky position where I've teamed up with charities
00:22and it's raised an awful lot of money for the charity.
00:26It's a really, really fun event.
00:28Often 30 ladies on an evening, sip and shop.
00:32You can imagine the hilarity.
00:33Following the autumn budget announcement, quite a bit of confusion and I guess disappointment, really.
00:39Confusion being that the main headline is it was leaked early.
00:43Disappointment, nothing for small businesses.
00:46I see no benefit to me and my fellow independent retailers.
00:50We are the backbone of Great Britain.
00:52We employ, we pay tax, we pay national insurance.
00:56We need to be helped.
00:57We need to be looked at.
00:59Growth is their main strap line.
01:01I see no growth possibilities at all at the moment.
01:06Retailers' independence are wanting to be optimistic, but when we look around, you can't help but notice
01:12that there have been business closures.
01:15That, I have sleepless nights, you know, it's, I don't take anything for granted.
01:19But I'm ending 2025 on a real high.
01:23I've actually received two awards.
01:26The first one is the Best Independent Fashion and Gift Retailer of 2025 in Leeds.
01:35And the second one is the Excellence Award for Customer Service.
01:40Absolutely thrilled.
01:42Really blown away.
01:43So thank you very much.
