The Pixar tentpole becomes the fifth Disney release of the year so far to achieve the milestone, an industry record.

00:14Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 4 has crossed the one billion mark at the global box office,
00:19becoming the fifth Disney release of the year to do so, and the sixth title of 2019 so far.
00:24Both of those stand as new records, and by the way, all but one belonged to Disney.
00:28What's more, it's the fourth Pixar tentpole to join the billion-dollar club after Incredibles 2,
00:33Finding Dory, and fellow franchise installment, Toy Story 3.
00:36And it's the number eight animated movie of all time, not adjusted for inflation.
00:40That's quite the flex.
00:49Yeah, we see you collecting those records, Disney.
00:51Through Wednesday, Toy Story 4 has grossed $421.8 million domestically
00:56and $579.9 million internationally for a worldwide tally of $1.002 billion.
01:03The family film first hit theaters in June.
01:05It's the number two animated release of all time in the UK at $75.2 million,
01:10while it tops the market in Japan at $77 million, where it's still growing strong.
01:14And in Mexico, at $72 million, Toy Story 4 is the industry's biggest film ever in terms of admissions.
01:19Directed by Josh Cooley, the movie's lengthy cast of A-list voice talent sees the return of Tom Hanks as Woody,
01:26Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, and Annie Potts as Bo Peep, who many fans noted was absent from the previous
01:31installment of the animated franchise.
01:33New toys include the conflicted Forky, played by Tony Hale, the doll Gabby Gabby as voiced by Christina Hendricks,
01:39and the comedic duo Bunny and Ducky, given life by Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key respectively,
01:44and of course, stunt motorbike rider Duke Caboom, played by the iconic Keanu Reeves.
01:50The other 2019 members of the billion-dollar club are Avengers Endgame, the top-grossing film of all time
01:55— ooh, that sounds nice, doesn't it, Disney? — with $2.8 billion globally, The Lion King roaring to $1.3 billion,
02:01Captain Marvel racking up $1.1 billion, Spider-Man Far From Home swinging into a cool $1.09 billion,
02:07and Aladdin granted $1.04 billion.
02:11And of course, all but Sony's Spider-Man were released by the Disney Empire.
