French Defence Minister Catherine Vautrin and Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz on November 25, rejected any peace deal that would amount to a “capitulation of Ukraine,” emphasizing that Ukraine’s voice must be central in any negotiations.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Warsaw, Vautrin stressed that peace discussions in Europe require Ukraine’s participation and consent, while Kosiniak-Kamysz highlighted the heroic defense of Ukraine over the past four years and insisted that any peace must respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.
Both ministers also underlined the need to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank, citing recent drone incursions into Romanian airspace as a reminder of ongoing threats. Vautrin noted a growing European effort to rearm and take greater responsibility for regional security.
