00:42play ended car driving he's outside the circle he's outside the circle and he's set he was outside

00:51the circle and he was set brett smith blew it he was outside the restricted area he was straight

01:06that's an absolutely horse crap call in a game that's been played out like this

05:31but go ahead oh so i was helping my best friend prepare a turkey for the first time ever for her

05:38and have you ever prepared a turkey i've always watched people do it oh so it's like the blind

05:44leading the blind no but two people who've never actually prepared since i've seen it from my aunt

05:49whenever she does it every year i knew more so it was really funny being able to see her reactions

05:56did she drop she was waiting she dropped and stuff like she dropped the bird everybody

06:01almost did because it's slippery it is slippery yeah you gotta get it you gotta get some some palms under it

06:07yeah it was it took a long time but it was really funny and that that was just my damage like

06:14the things that happened oh she was just prepping the damage is done the hard part is on cook day to

07:25handles thanksgiving sure yeah um you practice you know you meet you

07:37say grace and uh give thanks for all the incredible opportunities that we have to be around i mean come

07:43on man this is uh you got to have gratitude for what we have where we are the things we get to do

07:50and whatnot and um so after practice you know thursday is always a day that when practice and

07:56meetings are over that's the window or you get together and this is one where we'll have our

08:02our thanksgiving luncheon here you know families are invited i know that email's going out today maybe

08:07just did with this interview but um and then um the guys that still want more um they're all welcome

08:16to our coaches houses some guys would rather sleep i remember my coach always said come over for

08:21thanksgiving i'm like no thank you i'd rather take that time to you know relax so we uh we want to

08:28make sure that family is always real first and foremost but also that's time for space because

08:33friday is pretty busy you know you you get up you come you meet you walk through you're on a plane

08:39you land you get off you eat you walk through so that's their time so we're there for them if they

08:45want it there's good food everywhere um but also uh it's really about being one to know man that's what

08:52everybody wants for thanksgiving right that's what we all want so that's a long answer for a short

08:57question so i apologize and a lot of mike mcdaniel in it wow i gotta be honest with you that's not

09:03what i want thanksgiving first thing i want food before one right right right i want to be fueled up

09:07for one to know here's what sucks is that i never got a holiday off until i got done with football

09:17um so it was awkward because i don't have holidays i just have days of the week

09:24week so if new year's fell on a monday or tuesday or wednesday whatever day of the week that was

09:33that's what we did now what we did do was on thanksgiving you start at 6 30 in the morning

09:43you're done at about 11 30 12 but you have a regular day they just take lunch out

09:49mario cristobal always gets the uh the the turkey leg you think in this house

09:56breaks the wishbone oh mario cristobal loves a wishbone wait

10:08i like who let me tell you i smoked something one time tried to get them like uh like uh disney

10:19dylan says that radio play-by-play guy was like me when they took the wear dunk away last night

10:32that was crazy they just took his dunk away he's too tall i'm sorry you're not allowed to do that

10:37kalal kalal just seems to to um get it yep right just how he's doing stuff now we'll say this

10:47you run a fast-paced game for a guy who's not very fast-paced so sometimes you got to wait for

10:56him to get there yeah but that's all bigs he's rebounding the hell out of the ball he is it's

11:02it's very impressive like it's like does somebody like piss him off or somebody it just all everybody's

11:07crediting the ud text but i can guarantee that's not the first i like that's not the first time you

11:12done yeah we're familiar with ud's work i don't know what happened i don't know if somebody just

11:17like i i don't i genuinely don't know what it was i know everybody's pouring a lot into him and i just

11:23think like the thing with him that's people always compare him to white side and i don't and i don't

11:29think that he's like he receives everything he really does the thing that's interesting though is

11:34he's just been very even keel and now you're seeing him play with this like outward emotion he's

11:39loving it and you you asked him yeah and he's just like play harder but he'll do that like he'll

11:45just be like what happened i guess i was slacking off a little bit you know like he's just honest

11:49but i like that and the thing about that is is that that is always much easier to work with

11:58you you know what i mean because now you can like so if you're spo or you're an assistant coach

12:04and you pull him out of the game khalil why are you sitting on the bench effort and they could

12:11yell because he knows i think it's always been the thing the thing that's interesting is i think

12:15what everybody is is like he's been a very he's a nice person and i think everybody's been trying

12:20to figure this out basically since he got into college is like how do we tap into this freak i will

12:26say how do we get into to this and like mike winston we talked to him a little bit about this whereas

12:30like he needed the model like do whatever you got to do to get him to that point because mind you

12:35that was his second college and this kid the only flaw on him in the entire draft risha shay saw all

12:43these guys got taken the only thing this guy had that these guys didn't have is he had a track record

12:48of being i guess a mope on the court because it's certainly not talent so what what i would say

12:54um is this sometimes um not being confident in what you're doing far as you know playing defense

13:09rotating it's a lot different than in college you just guarding the man in front of you right so he's

13:14got rotations he's got to be in and out a lot of different things it seems like he's getting more

13:20comfortable and he looks like he's where he needs to be almost all the time and so maybe it's a

13:27comfort thing maybe he's gotten comfortable where he knows he's doing the right things and now he can

13:34just go out and just play hard um i tell you all the time the hardest thing for an athlete to do

13:40um when you don't know what you're doing it comes across as you being lazy and it's more of an

13:47unsure thing as far as what to do kalal looks like even with his rotations coming over and helping

13:54coming over and doing what he needs he seems like he's moving quicker and they say it's more effort

14:00but it looks sometimes it looks like he's more comfortable with what he's doing i think it's a

14:04confidence thing right yeah and he knows what to do so he can just go out and play that that's big

14:10people don't you you don't understand it happens with offensive linemen a lot

14:15that when you're unsure it just looks like you're standing there we used to have coach yell onto the

14:22field hit somebody even if it's the wrong guy right and so that like that's the hard part to

14:30moving up a level in sports is that the the responsibilities become greater because it's not

14:38just everybody played like you did in college now we got schemes now we got help defense now we got

14:46all these different you know kind of things you have to learn before you can then be yourself and

14:53i think kalal's getting to the point now where if you see him move if you see him uh rotate it's quicker

14:59it's now it's there and now we can just relax and be him yeah i think it's reps too like i i i think all

15:05look i'm not saying that the talking stuff doesn't help i'm sure you this guy's got as good a support

15:09system as i'm sure it is but i got to give him credit on it too he's an unreal talent and i just

15:14think he's 21 years old you're getting reps of this thing i think probably bam being out helped a

15:20little bit too because he basically had no choice you had no choice like yeah you're right you're out

15:25here dude and so i think that probably helped a little bit too is like you're my only option here and it

15:31it it flourishes it's like it's it's it feels like it's here and so i i'm just i'm thrilled to watch

15:38it because it feels like you're gonna watch him do something crazy every single night right
