'The Bear' star Lionel Boyce talks to THR on the red carpet of the 2023 Emmys about what he would love to see happen for his character Marcus in season 3.

00:03Are you still, you know, feeling those good vibes going into tonight's Emmys?
00:07Yeah, I mean, it's great momentum to start the, like, you know, yesterday, like, well, we won.
00:11So, at least at the bare minimum, we won a lot yesterday, so I can just enjoy today, which way it goes.
00:18It's no, it's less pressure, I guess.
00:20Before I finished season three, I was seeing a lot of drama on, before I finished season two, I'm sorry, I'm excited about season three.
00:26But I saw a lot of drama online of people not liking Claire, and I couldn't figure out why when I finished it,
00:32because I'm like, maybe some people ship, you know, Carmen and Sidney.
00:35I ship Marcus and Sidney.
00:37What are your thoughts on the future of Marcus and Sidney in the show?
00:40You know, I honestly have no idea, because I'm like, last, like, season one, I felt like I was saying, like, oh, you know, they're just friends.
00:48And then the writers have their plans that I don't, I'm not involved in.
00:52They don't tell me those parts of it.
00:53So as far as what I think is, I think it's platonic, but I said that season one, and then season two I was wrong.
01:00So I guess we'll see if I'm right or wrong.
01:02If you had to ship her with somebody, Sidney, do you think she's better with Carmen or better with Marcus?
01:08Hmm.
01:09I don't know.

01:17What's something you'd love to see happen for Marcus in season three?
01:20Hmm.
01:21I mean, personally, I've just loved the journey that they've put him on, where it's just he's finding more discoveries and getting better.
01:27So I would just love to see that more, to see what ideas he'll want to create and what he'll, like, hone in on for season three in terms of, like, the pastry desserts and building out the dessert world.
01:38And, I mean, a big cliffhanger with his mom at the end of season two.
01:41How do you think that's going to affect him in season three?
01:44Well, I mean, I can't answer that.
01:48I'm going to complete the pit there because I know some things and I'm just not saying anything.
01:53Have you seen any scripts?
01:55No.
