Paramount is pushing back the release of A Quiet Place Part II at the 11th hour amid the coronavirus pandemic.

00:00A Quiet Place Part II and F9, the ninth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise,
00:12just became the latest blockbuster movies to be pushed back amid the coronavirus pandemic.
00:17John Krasinski made the announcement about A Quiet Place Part II on social media on Thursday.
00:22He wrote in a letter to fans,
00:23Well, due to the ever-changing circumstances of what's going on in the world around us,
00:33now is clearly not the right time to do that.
00:36As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie,
00:39I'm gonna wait to release the film till we can all see it together. See you soon.
00:43Krasinski directed both films, which star his wife, Emily Blunt.
00:47I don't know why you came all the way up here.
00:49There's nothing left.
00:53Paramount confirmed the news about A Quiet Place Part II in a statement shortly after, which said,
00:59After much consideration and in light of the ongoing and developing situation concerning coronavirus
01:04and restrictions on global travel and public gatherings, Paramount Pictures will be moving
01:08the worldwide release of A Quiet Place Part II. We believe in and support the theatrical experience,
01:14and we look forward to bringing this film to audiences this year once we have a better
01:18understanding of the impact of this pandemic on the global theatrical marketplace.
01:22Meanwhile, the next installment in Universal's Fast and Furious franchise is being pushed back
01:27by a whole year amid the coronavirus pandemic. Now it will be released April 2, 2021 in the U.S.,
01:34timed to a day-and-date global launch. The film is taking the spot previously reserved for the 10th
01:39and final installment in the main Fast and Furious franchise.

01:49Plus, hours after making the call to move A Quiet Place Part II off the schedule, Paramount is also
01:54pulling two more films because of the coronavirus pandemic, The Lovebirds and Blue Story.
