00:00CNN has decided not to run a Donald Trump-endorsed campaign ad after the
00:04network decided it does not meet their standards.
00:08The 30-second advertisement paid for by Trump's campaign targeted Joe Biden's
00:13conduct toward Ukraine while he served as vice president, while also referring
00:17to CNN personalities Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo and Jim Acosta as media lapdogs.
00:23A CNN spokesperson spoke to THR, saying the ad does not meet the network's
00:27advertising standards, adding, in addition to disparaging CNN and its journalists,
00:31the ad makes assertions that have been proven demonstrably false by various news
00:35outlets, including CNN. However, despite CNN's rejection, the president posted the
00:40advertisement onto his Twitter page last week, along with the caption,
00:43I am draining the swamp.
00:44Now, this is not the first time CNN has rejected a Trump campaign ad. Back in 2017,
00:49the network refused to run a Trump-approved ad called Let President Trump Do His Job,
00:54which criticized the media and specifically called out Lemon as well as Anderson Cooper.
