Trump denied a reported claim that he "hate-watches" Don Lemon's CNN show.
Transcript
00:00President Donald Trump made it clear on Monday morning that he doesn't watch Don Lemon's
00:04show on CNN, despite a report in the New York Times over the weekend that Trump hate-watches
00:09CNN to get worked up, especially Don Lemon.
00:12According to the Times, people close to him estimate that Mr. Trump spends at least four
00:16hours a day — and sometimes as much as twice that — in front of a television, sometimes
00:22with the volume muted, marinating in the no-holds-barred wars of cable news and eager to fire back.
00:28The Times also reported that Trump's favorite Fox News personalities to watch are Sean Hannity,
00:32Laura Ingraham and Jeanine Pirro. Trump took to Twitter to refute claims from the story.
00:37He wrote,
00:38Another false story, this time in the failing New York Times.
00:41That I watch four to eight hours of television a day. Wrong.
00:45Also, I seldom, if ever, watch CNN or MSNBC, both of which I consider fake news.
00:51I never watched Don Lemon, who I once called the dumbest man on television. Bad reporting.
00:55Back in August 2016, Trump called Lemon a lightweight and dumb as a rock on Twitter.
01:00CNN pushed back on Trump's criticism of Lemon in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
01:04A network spokesperson said,
01:06In a world where bullies torment kids on social media to devastating effect on a regular basis,
01:11with insults and name-calling, it is sad to see our president engaging in the very same behavior himself.
01:17Adding,
01:18Leaders should lead by example.
01:20The Times also responded to Trump's claim that the lengthy story is another false story.
01:24The paper said in a statement on Twitter,
