00:00Following numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault lodged against Kevin
00:09Spacey, director Ridley Scott has made the monumental and expensive decision to remove
00:14the actor from his already completed thriller, All the Money in the World, just weeks before
00:18the film's release. Christopher Plummer will now play J. Paul Getty in the story about the
00:23infamous 1973 kidnapping of his grandson, 16-year-old John Paul Getty III. The movie was pulled
00:29as the closing night screening of AFI Fest at Scott's Insistence and is scheduled to hit
00:33theaters December 22 via Sony's TriStar. As of now, the release date remains unchanged
00:37despite the reshoots. The filmmaker made the decision on his own and only notified Sony of
00:42his decision late Wednesday afternoon, according to sources. It has been reported that
00:46Plummer was originally the first choice for the role, but top studio executives wanted a
00:50bigger name. Spacey shot a total of eight days and many of his scenes featured just him.
00:55Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams also star as J. Paul Getty's lawyer and daughter and the
00:59two are expected to come back for reshoots. It's not clear how Scott will produce the
01:03Spacey plumber swap, but bringing back the actors for filming and finishing the movie on
01:07this incredibly tight schedule is an enormous undertaking. One no less complicated option
01:12could be the use of visual effects, but a challenge for this route is that many of Spacey's scenes were
01:17shot in different locations. All the Money in the World is the latest project to distance itself
01:22from Spacey. Netflix announced that the sixth season of House of Cards has suspended
01:26production and on Friday, sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the show is actively
01:30reworking the final season of the drama so that Spacey will be written out. Netflix also
01:35abandoned plans for the Spacey-led Gore Vidal biopic, Gore. The allegations against Spacey began
01:40nearly two weeks ago when actor Anthony Rapp alleged that the actor made sexual advances
01:45toward him when he was just 14 years old. Since then, several more individuals have come forward to
01:49recount their own experience with the actor. Spacey drew widespread criticism for his
01:54response to Rapp's allegations when he used the situation to come out as a gay man
