00:00Welcome to Kavila's Storytelling Corner!
00:09Located literally in a corner behind a laundromat on Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur,
00:1531-year-old Kavila Nair can be seen firing up the walk.
00:20Having loved cooking since young, Kavila began experimenting in the kitchen during the pandemic.
00:26Soon, she was operating a stall in the area, juggling her office job by day,
00:31and cooking by night for three years.
00:35In fact, I was passionate about my parents.
00:40I wanted to go to my parents.
00:42When I was young, I was going to go to the kitchen,
00:45but I was very excited about my parents.
00:49So, I wanted to go to my parents.
00:51So, I feel like everyone here is eating Chinese.
00:57We are in the region.
00:59So, I just want to try.
01:01I want to try.
01:02Why not?
01:03Okay.
01:04The science first is the method.
01:06I don't know.
01:07People who are not, I just get 30£.
01:10I only get 30£.
01:13But Kavila persisted, won over more customers, quit her day job,
01:24and three months ago opened this bigger space.
01:28She is known for her wok-fried Chinese and Malay dishes
01:31that feature her own recipes and homemade sauces.
01:36The lala soup is her signature dish, fresh and comforting on a rainy day.
01:42Also popular is her nasi goreng chilipari.
01:45The chilis are blended in, so every bite carries a spicy kick,
01:50and the wok-he really shines here.
01:53If you're feeling the heat, grab Kavila's fried ice cream,
01:57a new addition to the menu.
01:59She's also added her own twist to the Malay classic koitiau basa
02:08by adding cheese to it.
02:10You've probably never tasted anything like it.
02:16With plans to grow her business,
02:18Kavila continues working tirelessly by her walk.
