00:50In the early days, Chello Chinna set up a simple stall in Bangsar
00:54and only served two types of appam.
00:57I started this when I was 28 years old.
01:01At that time, it was March 6, 1988.
01:05Based on her customers' suggestions,
01:07she gradually increased the items on her menu.
01:1036 years on, and her business has grown,
01:13even though her journey, unlike her appam, hasn't always been sweet.
01:18Her husband, Paramasivam Chelya, with whom she was running the business,
01:23passed away from a heart attack in January 2022.
01:27Stricken with grief, Chello Chinna closed her business for a month.
01:31Eventually, she reopened with a new resolve to give her best to her customers.
01:36She moved to her present shop in July,
01:39and today, Chello's sweet appam is stronger than ever.
01:43I feel more happy once I move here.
01:46I feel more happy. My customers are very happy.
