00:00Many Malaysians love Thai food, but are you a little bored with the usual offerings?

00:06Then spice it up at Noodin in SS15.

00:10Their food is spot on.

00:17Despite the name and logo, this is not a noodle-only eatery.

00:22In fact, this place was founded by Daniel Raj after meeting Shiva Pinrenu,

00:27an experienced restaurateur in Thailand.

00:30He was already doing Noodin back in Bangkok.

00:33But it was just a small place just for takeaway.

00:36And he was legitly just doing noodles.

00:38I pronounced it at first like Noodin.

00:41Why Noodin?

00:42No, it's like, no, Noodin.

00:44It's like, Dan, don't you hear?

00:45Everyone around Thailand, they can't roll their tongue.

00:49So they can't say Noodin.

00:50So they will be Noodin.

00:52Noodin.

00:52Why Noodin?

00:55Operating for one year now, their menu focuses on authentic Thai cuisine.

01:00Mainly from the southern region highlighting many lesser-known dishes.

01:04Not only are the ingredients all sourced from Thailand,

01:08but everything is cooked by Chef Santi Pao Pao.

01:11He is from Bangkok, okay?

01:15Not mistaken, he's from the district called Nan, NAN.

01:19So that's about eight-hour, nine-hour drive from Bangkok to his hometown.

01:25Yeah.

01:25So he knew Shiva for a long time as well.

01:28And when I specifically told Shiva if we were ever going to do this here in Malaysia,

01:32we definitely want the Thai chef.

01:34That's going to make it more authentic, more different.

01:37FMT Lifestyle tried some of their dishes and many were standouts.

01:41We also have our unique, I will call it our traffic-like fried rice.

01:46So we have green curry fried rice, yellow curry fried rice, and red curry fried rice.

01:52Their fragrant yellow curry paste with coconut milk is stir-fried with rice,

01:57bringing out that smoky wok hei, and finished off with a fried egg.

02:01Okay, this is their southern yellow curry fried rice.

02:07Go for it.

02:12Whoa.

02:14I don't think I've had anything like this before.

02:16It has a kick.

02:20Another top pick is their baku bakis.

02:23These wild ferns mixed with kangkung are coated in batter,

02:26then deep-fried into crispy treats you can't stop eating.

02:31Be sure to try their shrimp cakes,

02:34densely packed and coated in breadcrumbs,

02:37before coming out golden brown.

02:40Fresh, soft inside, and perfect with the sweet dipping sauce.

02:46And instead of the usual mango or papaya salad,

02:49try their unique spicy squid salad,

02:52made with classic Thai ingredients like lemongrass, chilies, and fish sauce.

02:57Of course, they have everything else you need to complete the perfect Thai meal,

03:03from somyam to garlic chili lime steamed fish.
