United Sikhs Malaysia volunteers have mobilised to assist stranded Malaysians in Hat Yai, Thailand, following severe flooding that has devastated the southern Thai city.

The disaster trapped many Malaysian tourists in hotels, with floodwaters rendering roads impassable and bringing all transportation services to a halt, preventing their return home.

Responding swiftly to the crisis, the humanitarian organization deployed a volunteer team across the border to deliver essential support and assistance to those affected.

01:35But the idea today is we will actually get closest to Hatnyai.
01:38We are not too sure how close we can get because the water levels are quite high.
01:44There is a SOS, a rate alert, from the local government that the canal has breached dangerous levels.
01:54And it's a cold rate now.
01:56And we are actually trying to raise against time before that canal has to be released,
02:01the water has to be released.
02:02Therefore, we are going to rescue as many people as possible so that the rescue mission is going to be slightly easier.
02:09Hopefully, by the time we reach there, we still can bring people out from the lobby area.
02:14So those people continue to send us messages.
02:19We will try to reach out as many people as possible.
02:22We will try to save as many people and rescue as many people.
02:24It is a rescue mission.
02:28We will basically move people out from the flooded area to dry ground.
02:35And then from there, they should arrange their own accommodation or their way back to Malaysia.
02:43Please just bring your handphones, passports, and any documents only.
02:53No bags, please, because we want to save as many people as possible.
