00:00Here are today's top stories. First, Kanye West is claiming he's done with Donald Trump and
00:04revealing he had contracted COVID-19 months ago in a new Forbes interview. THR's Neha Joy has more.
00:11Although he was previously a diehard Donald Trump supporter, visiting the president at the White
00:14House and Trump Tower numerous times, and even telling GQ back in April that he would be voting
00:19for Trump in the upcoming election, Kanye is now claiming those days are over. I'm taking the red
00:24hat off with this interview. One of the main reasons I wore the red hat as a protest to the
00:28segregation of votes in the Black community. Also, other than the fact that I like Trump hotels and
00:33the saxophones in the lobby. The billionaire musician and clothing designer also spoke to Forbes about
00:38his announcement last weekend that he was running for president, but fewer than four months before
00:42the election, noting that his 2020 declaration was not a stunt. One of the bigger shocks from the
00:47interview was West revealing he was severely ill with COVID-19 back in February. Chills, shaking in
00:53the bed, taking hot showers, looking at videos telling me what I'm supposed to do to get over it.
00:57I remember someone had told me Drake had the coronavirus, and my response was,
01:01Drake can't be sicker than me.
01:03Next, CNBC has hired former Fox News anchor Shepard Smith to anchor an evening newscast for
01:08the cable news channel. The one-hour newscast, titled The News with Shepard Smith, will air
01:12Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. Smith will also become CNBC's chief general news anchor and chief
01:18breaking general news anchor. Smith joined CNBC after spending 23 years at Fox News, where he left last
01:24October in a surprise move after asking the channel to step down from his role.
01:28Following an investigation into multiple claims that top showrunner Peter Lindkov created a toxic
01:32work environment, CBS has fired the showrunner of Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver, and Magnum P.I.
01:38Lindkov was dismissed despite having a year left on his rich overall deal with CBS TV studios,
01:43which produces MacGyver and Magnum P.I. Sources say Lindkov had been the subject of at least three
01:48complaints alleging that he was manipulative and abusive during Hawaii Five-0's 10-season run,
01:52and on the current hit MacGyver. For more on all these stories, head to THR.com.
