00:00Seven years ago, the first Telluride was designed and assembled in America.
00:06People of West Point, Georgia set out to build something that was nothing short of great.
00:11They didn't build it for awards.
00:14That's just a gift that comes with giving all you got.
00:18But great doesn't care about the past.
00:21It only cares about what you'll do next.
00:24Please welcome Vice President, Sales Operations, Eric Watson.
00:37Thank you.
00:38It's a pleasure to join you here in L.A. with great new Kia vehicles to share.
00:44But today is truly special.
00:46Today we present the next generation of our most iconic vehicle, the Kia Telluride.
00:52The impact of Telluride and its importance to Kia can't be overstated.
00:57Since its debut, Kia has transformed into one of the fastest growing and most awarded mass market brands in America.
01:06Telluride sales have consistently exceeded our expectations, even our own, increasing every year since 2019.
01:14The demand has led us to ramp up our production numbers year after year.
01:18And this year, even as we prepare to introduce the next one, it's still on pace for its best ever annual sales.
01:27As the popularity of Telluride skyrocketed, it lifted the Kia brand with it.
01:32The Telluride is still the only SUV to capture the triple crown of automotive awards in a single year.
01:39And some awards it has claimed for up to six years in a row.
01:42So, every aspect of the vehicle has been recognized from quality to safety to residual values.
01:49In short, the Telluride reshaped how the industry, media, and consumers viewed Kia.
01:56So, perhaps it's not a coincidence that on our overall sales, Kia has delivered seven consecutive years of record retail sales results.
02:05Our total sales year-to-date are up 8% versus last year.
02:10And this has us on pace for our eighth annual sales record.
02:14Strong performances span the entire lineup, with Carnival, Sportage, and K5 each setting new October sales records.
02:22While our electrified models, they grew 16%.
02:25These results come down to giving customers a great range of choices.
02:30That commitment is exactly what led to the development of the all-new Telluride, with its first-ever hybrid engine.
02:38So, let's dive right into the big news of today.
02:41Here it is, bigger, bolder, and greater in every way.
02:46The all-new 2027 Kia Telluride.
02:50Seven years ago, we created something powerful.
02:54Something great.
02:56But we weren't content with great.
03:00So, we challenged everything.
03:06Refined further.
03:11Pushed harder.
03:16We took it to the ends of the earth.
03:19And realized.
03:20The only way to take great to greater.
03:24Was to take far.
03:26Even farther.
03:27Much, much farther.
03:35The all-new Telluride Turbo Hybrid.
03:39Please welcome Senior Chief Designer, Kia Design Center America, Tom Kearns.
03:53Thank you.
03:54Thank you.
03:55It's my pleasure to be here to help introduce the next generation of a vehicle that has done so much for our brand.
04:02When we created the original Telluride, our instincts told us customers would respond to a big, bold, and unapologetically boxy SUV, yet infused with a unique Kia attitude.
04:17We designed it to be aspirational, aimed at changing people's perception of Kia.
04:22Now, the next generation doesn't step away from that.
04:25It simply reinterprets our ideas through the lens of Opposites United design language.
04:32And here's the result.
04:34An entirely new, chiseled exterior design that retains that boxy, honest SUV presence.
04:40It's a larger vehicle, gaining just over two inches in length, with a wheelbase extended by almost three inches, which allows for a roomier interior, easier ingress, egress, and improved ride quality.
04:56Now, up front, you'll notice a broad hood and vertical headlights that frame a new high-gloss grille.
05:02Lighting technology is evolving, and Kia is among the pioneers in the industry, with our expanded use of star-map LEDs and animated features.
05:13And Telluride elevates this technology even further with available animated welcome lighting patterns, and amber DRLs that really pop against the grille.
05:25Now, moving to the back, you'll find an even wider taillight design for an elegant, premium experience.
05:31The signature twin stripes echo the headlights for a modern, cohesive theme that runs throughout the vehicle.
05:40And along the side, Opposites United comes through with a combination of strong, angular shapes, contrasted with soft, flowing volumes.
05:50Flush door handles, usually only seen on luxury vehicles, allow for clean, refined surfacing and aerodynamic improvement.
05:59The triangular forms extending from the wheel arches are inspired by the facets of a diamond.
06:07Diamonds are beautiful and valuable and also one of the toughest, most durable things in the world, just like Telluride.
06:14Upward flowing character lines give the impression of lifting the vehicle, making it look more capable.
06:22While these unique notches on the fenders lend a mechanical precision feel and provide a foundation for the angles.
06:31Now, let's move to the inside.
06:34When you first open the front door, available LED lamps illuminate the ground, spelling out Telluride.
06:41In the cabin, Telluride welcomes you into what we call a dreamer's sanctuary.
06:46The dashboard curves gracefully around the front seat occupants.
06:49There's seating for up to eight with more passenger space than before, as well as generous second and third row legroom.
06:57There's enough cup holders for everyone and an available two-tier sliding tray with storage for the second row.
07:06We've made the cargo area even more flexible for life's daily adventures with lower storage dividers and a folding luggage table.
07:14To elevate the entire interior experience, we've made significant investments into premium materials.
07:23Our hand grips feel soft and protective with a look and a texture that's integrated into the overall design.
07:31We also put some thought into the interior door handles, which tuck into the armrest to blend function into form.
07:39So those are the design highlights, but there's much more to the story, including power, capability, and an abundance of technology.
07:49And to tell you more about that, please welcome Executive Director of Product Planning, Orth Hedrick.
07:59Thanks, Tom.
08:05Well, Telluride is important to us and to our customers, so we put everything into getting the next one just right.
08:14Getting it right is more capability, more roominess, more technology, more of everything our customers love about Telluride.
08:23Now, for the majority of our owners, Telluride will serve as the family vehicle.
08:27So we focused on every detail to ensure that it's exceptionally quiet, comfortable, and safe with premium road manners.
08:37As Tom mentioned, the interior really is a dreamer sanctuary.
08:42And that's not just because of the way it looks.
08:45Everything has been elevated to deliver a more premium experience, including quietness,
08:50thanks to the increased application of sound insulation materials and thicker glass all the way around,
08:57and seating, where comfort really matters the most.
09:00For the driver, there's an available Ergo Motion seat.
09:04It eases longer drives, adjustable massaging, and also support,
09:10while second-row seats create a lounge-like feel for the passengers.
09:14There's power for everyone's mobile devices, including two front-passenger dual wireless charging pads.
09:21The Telluride also features standard navigation, along with an available connected, cloud-based online navigation system
09:29that helps keep maps and routes up to date.
09:33The system is powered by live Google search, so customers can see the newest listings, restaurants, destinations, right on their screen.
09:42Telluride raises the game in entertainment and personalization, as well, through the Kia Connect Store.
09:49With the new entertainment data services package, you can stream from both Netflix or Disney, right on the center display.
09:57Or, maybe you prefer to watch YouTube or singing along with a Stingray karaoke app.
10:04It's a whole new level of personalized in-vehicle entertainment for Kia.
10:08And, check this out, we're also taking display themes to the next level.
10:14In addition to the NBA imagery we offer today, Kia is now collaborating with Disney,
10:19giving owners access to immersive Disney-themed displays, from Frozen and Toy Story to Marvel, even Star Wars.
10:28The Kia Connect Store makes it simple.
10:31The available Meridian Premium Audio System delivers an immersive sound through 14 speakers and a powerful 10-inch subwoofer.
10:41To round out this premium package, the all-new Telluride offers even more confidence and peace of mind.
10:48That starts with the upgraded steering system.
10:50The all-new Telluride features a responsive, rack-mounted, motor-driven power steering system
10:55that's far more precise than the previous model.
10:59We're also upgrading the convenience by offering memory-enabled power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel.
11:06And, we've added more airbags, 10 in all, and a stiffer body structure aimed at achieving the highest level safety ratings.
11:14Families will appreciate the upgraded standard rear occupant alert system,
11:18which uses radar sensors plus the smartphone for notifications to remind drivers of occupants still in the second and third row.
11:27And, as in every Kia, there's a helpful suite of up to 21 standard and available ADAS systems.
11:35Now, let's talk about one of the most exciting aspects of the all-new Kia Telluride, power trains, including a turbocharged hybrid.
11:44The standard offering is a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, which produces 274 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
11:54With nearly 50 more pound-feet of torque over the previous engine, it offers improved passing power.
12:00It's paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and is available with all-wheel drive plus active torque distribution.
12:07Plus, Kia is making towing easier than ever with Telluride's tow mode, now standard across all of our trims.
12:15And, to make towing or carrying a bike rack more convenient, Telluride adds trailer mode,
12:21which turns off various ADAS functions at the touch of a button.
12:25For a balance of power and efficiency, customers can step up to the turbo-hybrid powertrain,
12:32which pairs the 2.5-liter turbo engine with dual electric motors.
12:37This powertrain delivers almost 40 more horsepower than today, with faster acceleration and, get this, 50% better fuel economy.
12:47At up to 35 miles per gallon combined, it gives you a total range of at least 600 miles.
12:54It really is the best of both worlds, more power and also more efficiency.
12:58Now, the hybrid also delivers other benefits, including electronic dynamic torque vectoring control,
13:05which is designed to modulate power and braking to help maintain stability through the corners.
13:11And, with the new stay mode, you can run the AC, cabin lighting, infotainment with the engine off for about 20 minutes.
13:20Now, if you're one of those customers whose ideas of adventure reaches a bit deeper into the wilderness,
13:27well, we also have Telluride just for you.
13:31Let's check out the all-new 2027 Telluride X-Pro.
13:36The thing about grit and ambition is that they never rest.
13:46So, when it came to updating our most capable SUV, we made every detail.
13:56Every curve.
14:01Every function.
14:04Outshined all that came before.
14:06Because that's how you go from great to greater.
14:14The all-new Telluride X-Pro is ready.
14:30Please welcome Vice President Marketing, Russell Wager.
14:36All right, how about that?
14:51You can talk about capability, or you can just drag it right out onto the stage.
14:57Introducing the most capable Telluride we've ever built.
15:02The 2027 Telluride X-Pro.
15:06This vehicle is designed to tackle anything that gets in its path.
15:11And not just falling trees.
15:13The strong frame-mounted front and rear recovery points are also designed to assist other vehicles when they get bogged down in the mud.
15:22And that's just the start.
15:23Telluride X-Pro also includes an exclusive suspension with additional travel, providing 9.1 inches of ground clearance, up from the previous Telluride's 8.4.
15:36Combined with wider, trail-ready, 18-inch all-terrain tires, it's easy to see just how much more capable Telluride is.
15:44And because X-Pro adventures often involve towable toys, we've built the tow hitch into the vehicle from the beginning.
15:55It's factory-installed for a clean look and fully integrated with the chassis and electronics.
16:02Properly equipped, this setup delivers up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity.
16:07And on this rugged machine, the capability isn't just skin-deep.
16:12It's equipped with innovative technologies that help provide off-road confidence, such as multiple drive modes, including three terrain modes for sure-footed traction,
16:23and an electronic limited slip differential that modulates power from front to rear, left to right.
16:30While traversing the rugged outdoors, X-Pro's new ground-view monitor displays the terrain around the vehicle at speeds under 6 miles per hour,
16:41helpful for carefully navigating rocks, ruts, or tight forest trails.
16:48And on the center screen, you can switch to the off-road vehicle status to keep an eye on certain key data,
16:54from pitch and roll to oil pressure, engine temperature, and more.
17:00Later, after a long day's adventure, you'll appreciate X-Pro's exclusive ground-lighting feature,
17:09which brightens up key areas around the vehicle, helpful when you're unloading your gear for the evening.
17:16X-Pro complements its capability with tough and rugged design elements in black,
17:22from the raised roof rails, to the exclusive wheels, to the abundance of trim details.
17:28Inside, X-Pro stands out with unique touches, such as Kia's first-ever application of engineered carbon,
17:39and stylish X-Pro embossed seatbacks.
17:42To sum up, we are taking Telluride to the next level,
17:47in size, in styling, in capability, and in enhanced technology.
17:53And because we know our customers want to make a unique statement
17:58with the perfect Telluride to suit their lifestyles,
18:02we've also pushed model differentiation further than ever before.
18:07Our base model Telluride is defined by dark, chrome, and gloss black exterior theme,
18:14while our upper-level hybrid trims add body color, fender cladding, and grille inserts with satin silver details.
18:23X-Line models feature a combination of black finishes with a unique grille, bumpers, and sill design,
18:30exclusive fog lamps, and 21-inch wheels that deliver exceptional handling and driving comfort.
18:37And as we've just seen, X-Pro builds on the black theme of X-Line, adding rugged, capability-enhancing features.
18:47So whatever combination of style, efficiency, and capability you're looking for,
18:53there's a Telluride that delivers and looks the part.
18:57The Telluride will go on sale in the first quarter of 2026,
19:03proudly assembled at Kia's manufacturing facility in West Point, Georgia.
19:09We're already building pre-launch momentum.
19:12In fact, I have some exciting news about a long-standing Kia partnership
19:16that will help showcase Telluride on a global stage.
19:20We're in the middle of football season right now, and Kia is ready to get in the game.
19:25But I'm not talking about American football.
19:28No, I mean this kind of football.
19:31What we call soccer in the U.S.
19:35And this little event you might have heard of, the FIFA World Cup.
19:40Think of it this way.
19:42It's like having three Super Bowls a day for 39 days across North America next summer with the world watching.
19:50You'll start to see the seedlings of our efforts early next month with the official draw taking place in Washington, D.C.,
19:58where all the teams, groups, match-ups, game locations are unveiled.
20:04And the hype becomes real.
20:06We will have a strong vehicle presence at many of the matches.
20:10This includes a signature moment, with Kia supporting the official match ball carrier program at the start of every match.
20:19If you're not familiar, this is the ceremonial presentation of the game ball by a child to the referee on the field.
20:26And with Telluride serving as our hero vehicle for the FIFA World Cup, it's the perfect stage to showcase our Halo SUV.
20:35And now, to share a few closing thoughts, please welcome President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America, Sean Yoon.
20:45Good job.
20:46Good job.
20:53Today, we open the next chapter in the story of this legendary vehicle.
20:59Six years ago, Kia dared to challenge the status quo in a crowded segment with a bold, new, three-row, mid-size SUV.
21:11The moment it hit the market, it quickly became one of the most in-demand SUVs in the United States,
21:19and they elevated the Kia brand to an entirely new level.
21:24Over the years, the Telluride has continued to evolve.
21:27We introduced the Nipole Edition in 2020, giving the Telluride a darker, more distinctive edge.
21:37Then, Telluride solidified our X-Line X-Pro strategy, becoming the iconic model for our more rugged and aggressive trims.
21:48Those trims have been so successful.
21:51They are now available on nearly every SUV in our lineup.
21:55Consistently rising sales show that Telluride still captures our customers' imaginations.
22:06In the six years since its debut, sales have more than doubled, from about 60,000 units to over 120,000 units annually today.
22:15That's not only a testament to the vehicle's enduring appeal, but to the trust our customers have placed in us.
22:25We will continue to earn their trust and push the boundaries of their adventures with the next-generation model.
22:35I have a strong confidence in the all-new Telluride in its design, quality, and performance,
22:43as well as its ability to, once again, exceed our customers' expectations.
22:51Now, I'd like to invite the executive team to join me on the stage.
22:55Okay, on behalf of all of us at KIA, thank you for being here to celebrate the next chapter of our journey.
23:13Thank you.
23:14Thank you.
