00:00Hi, my name is Dina Katz and we're here with Dancing with the Stars 20th Anniversary with Deadline.
00:11We're so zeitgeist right now and like everyone's talking about us and everyone loves Wicked and
00:15between the two it felt like such an amazing combination of the biggest movie out right now,
00:21the biggest show out right now, and celebrating both arts of music and dance that, you know,
00:27there was not a better integration in my mind and it just kind of it worked so well and it was
00:32gorgeous from the beginning to end. I think these integrations are great it's like you know we did
00:36we've done them in the past you've done like artists like a Taylor Swift but then we've done
00:39like Grease and we've done things and it's so much fun to celebrate other people in the arts and you
00:45know and it's and it's great to have theme nights but it's really fun to like dive into one thing and
00:51just celebrate art all together. Back in the day because I've been here since the beginning right
00:55we used to have a different place than like the skybox and so I used to be wherever the
00:59celebrities were because I loved the moment they came off stage they would they would see the judges
01:05and then run backstage or run upstairs and I was the first person that they saw that the couple saw
01:11when they came off stage and it always was really great of the excitement and being there like
01:15the mom kind of right there and so then I was with whoever the co-host was as they came off stage
01:20as thing evolved and now that the skybox is totally live the whole time I'm preferred not to be on
01:26camera so now I'm backstage I'm in the booth backstage we had the it was called the red room I think then
01:32and we were behind the stage I mean we've we've had a couple of different stages but this was a
01:37small thing absolutely remember and I would stand right there the first season was Lisa Canning and
01:42I would stand right there and I was the first person that they saw and I think I started it because
01:48you know the show was so like it was this weird like first of all it's live and it's ballroom dance
01:53and people were so out of their comfort zones and I became you know I became the mom and kind of make
01:58sure everybody was okay so I was I wanted to be there at first like when they came on stage like
02:02you're okay and we're good and then from that it was just like it was my place I am really really good
02:08at predicting two-thirds of the people that will make it into the finals I am I am proud to say I'm
02:19not so good at predicting the winner because the audience does it it really ends up being the story
02:24of the season the heart and I always say we've had some phenomenal dancers that have won if you look at
02:30it mostly the best dancer doesn't win the show it's what that heart of the season is and so it evolves
02:37as everyone gets to know these people and you go through that journey with them and so I am great
02:43sometimes I'm not so good and I'm so happy to not be able to predict you see this as you talk to people
02:50on the show it's like this is one of the most important and best journeys that these celebrities
02:57whether you're Zendaya or you're a football player whomever you are that goes on and it means so much to
03:04them that all these years later it is still like this isn't something that she should have to worry
03:09about and it is a pretty amazing
