00:00Hi, my name is Jennifer Marquette and we are here with the 20th anniversary of Dancing with the
00:04Stars with Deadline. I'm a lead talent stage manager at Dancing with the Stars and I make
00:17hair and makeup schedules and just get the talent to where they need to be within the body of the
00:23show. I am everywhere. I am with the talent and quick changes. I am downstage for bumpers. I am
00:30in the skybox. I'm trying to shuffle people in the skybox because no one likes to go there, but
00:35I'm everywhere. I think what's surprising is a lot of couples, they don't necessarily like to go to
00:43the skybox because they get so nervous about the dance and even though they're all super, super
00:49supportive, it kind of gets them out of their, you know, zone for competition. So I feel like I'm,
00:57you know, peddling. I'm like, can I get you to the skybox? Can I get you to the skybox? You know,
01:00and once they're there, they're supportive and excited, but it just, if they haven't already
01:05performed yet, it kind of takes them out of their zone. And then also some of them don't eat
01:10before they dance. So after they dance, they want to eat and they want to, you know, just kind of
01:16relax a little bit because their dance has been done. I've been here for 17 years. Um, so I
01:21definitely have been here for some dramatic moments. Um, the quick changes, the minute quick
01:27changes. I remember one particular, I don't know if Conrad's going to laugh for this, but one
01:32particular quick change I was making with Emma and she was like, slap my face, slap my, like, she's
01:37like, just to, you know, get her riled up for her dance. And, you know, I was like, I can't slap your
01:43face and she was like, do it. And I'm like, I never did it. But Rebecca, the costumes just went
01:47like this because she wanted to get just amped up for her dance. And it was funny. Um, I've been
01:54here for a lot. I've been here with all of, you know, when the, cause they were kids, Derek and Mark
02:02when I first got here. Um, and then when Val came in very, they were all very, very competitive.
02:08And it's been so nice to see, uh, their growth, you know, life happens, kids happen, relationships
02:17happen, and it was fun back then, but it's even more fun now. Um, just watching them mature
02:25and grow up and seeing them with their families and other dancers. It's, it's awesome. It's
02:31very emotional. Um, just the live aspect of it. Cause it's that energy, that feeling that
02:38you get. Um, but yeah, during competition is, is very emotional. Um, sometimes their dances
02:48are very emotional and just the process of dancing with their celebrity, you know, sometimes
02:54it's great for them. And sometimes, you know, you just see their, uh, emotional process and it's,
03:02it's fun and interesting to watch. I'll never forget, uh, Daniela with Iman. We were, I think
03:09it was towards the end of COVID. So everyone had to do their quick changes in the trailer. And I was
03:16there and Daniela busted the door open. She goes, I'm going to win this. But she, I mean, there was
03:23nothing, it was like clear as day. She's like, I'm going to win this. And I was like, I felt that
03:27energy. I was like, yo girl, like you, you got this. It was the finale episode and everyone had
03:32done their dance and she was coming out for voting. And she was like, I'm going to win this.
03:37I mean, just watching the opening number this week, I got teary eyed so many times. I'm like,
03:42oh my God, this is so beautiful. Um, and just the process, everybody's grown up and,
03:49um, and it is emotional. It is. It's been a lovely place.
