00:17Natalie Green was arrested Wednesday and charged with masterminding the violent bogus ambush.

00:25According to Green's story, she was violently attacked at Egg Harbor Township Nature Reserve
00:30in New Jersey on the night of July 23rd.
00:33Prosecutors said the accused fraudster claimed three gun-wielding men approached her and a
00:37friend on the trail around 10.36 p.m. before threatening to shoot her and striking her in
00:42the head.
00:43The 26-year-old suspect said the fictitious attackers then hog-tied her with zip ties, held her down
00:48while slashing her face and body, and etched political slurs onto her stomach, all because
00:53of her job, the complaint said.
00:55Green, a Rutgers law student, worked for Republican Representative Jeff Van Drew at the time.
01:00She joined the congressman's team part-time in 2022 and later served as his constituent
01:05advocate.
01:06Green's accomplice frantically called police, claiming she had been singled out by name and
01:10violently assaulted, according to the complaint.
01:12Officers found the accused con artist in a wooded area just off the trail, hands and feet
01:17bound together, her shirt pulled over her head, and the words Trump Whore and Van Drew
01:21was a racist scribbled in black marker on her horrifically scarred body as she screamed
01:26that one of her attackers had a gun.
01:28Horrific photos in the complaint show Green with deep, grisly cuts on her body and face.
01:32But according to prosecutors, the story just wasn't adding up.
01:36They say Green was taken to a hospital where she and her accomplice gave police conflicting
01:40accounts of what happened and provided faulty descriptions of the phantom assailants.
01:44Black zip ties and duct tape were also found in Green's Maserati the night of the disturbing
01:49alleged scheme, and federal officials said her unidentified sidekick searched zip ties near
01:54me on their phone two days earlier and went to a Ventnor Dollar General to pick them up.
01:58Perhaps most disturbing, two days before the alleged phony assault, Green is being accused
02:03of having driven to Pennsylvania to pay $500 to a body modification artist she found on
02:09Instagram to deliberately carve gruesome wounds into her face, neck, chest, back and shoulders
02:16with a scalpel.
02:17Green was charged with conspiracy to convey false statements and hoaxes and making false statements
02:23to federal law enforcement.
02:24She was arraigned Wednesday in federal court and released on a $200,000 unsecured bond.
02:30Green could spend up to a decade behind bars if convicted on both charges.
