Malaysia and Ethiopia have inked four memoranda of understanding, marking the start of a new era in bilateral relations and cooperation.

00:10The MOUs will see both countries working together in air services, health and tourism.
00:16A collaboration document was also signed between Kuala Lumpur City Hall
00:21and the Addis Ababa City Administration.
00:24The exchange of documents was witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim
00:29and his Ethiopian counterpart Dr. Abi Ahmed Ali
00:33and was a key agenda in Anwar's visit to the country.
00:37At a joint press conference, Anwar said
00:39Malaysia looks forward to exploring new markets,
00:42especially Africa, Latin America and beyond, as a trading nation.
00:47He added that Malaysia, which already has strong bilateral relations with Ethiopia,
00:53aims to elevate ties, particularly in trade and investment.
00:56Abiy Ahmed said Anwar's visit marks a new chapter in South-South partnership,
01:03grounded in a commitment to shared economy, inclusivity, solidarity and human dignity.
01:10Describing discussions with Anwar as productive and forward-looking,
01:14Abiy Ahmed said Ethiopia seeks to deepen cooperation with Malaysia
01:18in key areas including investment, banking and finance,
01:22and providing skills to youth.
