HBO's 'Harry Potter' reboot series has locked in two key members of its creative team. The long-awaited series has tapped 'Succession' alums Francesca Gardiner as its writer and showrunner and Mark Mylod to direct multiple episodes. Both are Emmy winners for the HBO series with Gardiner as part of the show's producing team and Mylod as both director and producer.

00:21Gardiner's credits include His Dark Materials at HBO and Killing Eve at BBC America, to name a few,
00:26and Mylot has directed episodes of Game of Thrones and the upcoming second season of The Last of Us for HBO, among other titles.
00:34The Potter series was originally slated for Max, where it had been in development since 2021.
00:40However, it was just announced that the series will become HBO Originals,
00:43meaning that they'll air on the cable channel as well as stream on Max.
00:47Per HBO, the show will be a faithful adaptation of the mega-selling fantasy books about the young British wizard.
00:53The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom,
00:57full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years.
01:03Casting for the roles, played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, will be announced later.
01:08A date for the show hasn't been set, although a 2026 debut is the target.
