00:04During a recent appearance on ESPN's first take, the former undisputed WWE champion was asked how he came up with the iconic taunt.

00:13Cena called the gesture a happy accident, revealing that it was the result of a dare his brother gave him during his early WWE days.

00:22It is my life through a happy accident, Cena said.

00:25When we played my little brother Sean's album, he was doing, The Motion, and I'm like, man, you look stupid.

00:33He said, I bet you won't say that on TV.

00:36At the time, I was wrestling matches that no one cared about.

00:40I was on an obscure Saturday program called Velocity.

00:43No one ever watched it.

00:45So I'm like, fine, nobody's watching, you guys can't see me.

00:48And here I am, the Invisible Man, 23 years later, with one of the trademarks of wrestling history.

00:56The whole thing's a happy accident.
