Dan Winks from Tilquin, Bollon, and contractor Jack Young from Dirranbandi reveal the challenges of exclusion fencing.
Transcript
00:00We've done a total of 75 k's around our boundary of high-exposing fence
00:05to an eastern end of a cluster.
00:07We just chuck the other two sides off.
00:09We're trying to keep more dogs out of our goats and sheep.
00:13We have calves, basically.
00:15We'd be up to maybe 500km now, maybe.
00:17I could work out that in.
00:19That's over six years, so probably a 100k a year.
00:22We went from basically doing it as cheaply as we could
00:25to buying fewer equipment
00:28and try to get it done thicker and more efficiently.
00:31It's easier.
00:32You want it flat for a start, so there's no holes.
00:35You don't want water to lay on it.
00:37You want to be able to drive a lot too.
00:40Don't cheap out on the grading.
