Maxwell's prime cows meet a prime market at weekly Blackall cattle sale

Tom Cameron from Elders Winton provides a wrap-up of the sale, where 2400 head were yarded.

00:00Best of the Bullocks out to $4.60. Best of the Bulls out to $4.30. Best cows $4.15 to $4.20.

00:08Fat heifers $4.20 to $4.25. Lighter weight feeder steers $5.30. Heavyweight feeder steers $4.80.

00:18And yet to sell the heifers. So a very good market.

00:21We've got a pen of the Rockville cows down from between the Kynurna and Julia Creek.

00:25They've sent down quite a good draft this week. Good heavy cows. These cows topped out at $4.15.

00:31Which is very consistent with the markets throughout the week. Fat cattle selling very well.

00:37A lot of fat cattle yarded today just off the back of the end of the season and the market being as good as it is.

00:44And we've got interstate and local processors which is good to see.

00:48The interstate processors have been up here for the last three or four months and been giving a really good hand.
