Pretty positive day here today, a very hot day, 41 or 42 degrees but
00:04
yarded about 15,000 sheep, a very good run of ewe lambs, they topped out at $410 for the Doors
00:10
ewe lambs, Stephen Doors' ewe lambs, but consistently you needed $350 up to $400 to buy a good
00:17
jointable ewe lamb. Got on some very good scans, one and a half year old ewes, they topped out
00:21
an equal top at $435 for the Matiski family and the Bolum family, which is still a great result.
00:26
If there was any value, they were probably the best value on the day, I reckon.
00:29
We got on to some older ewes and they topped out at $400, but you pretty consistently
00:32
needed $270 or $350 for some older scans ewes and Marinos were around that $200 to $230 mark.
00:39
But overall, it was a very well supported sale and I think it was positive and a definitely
00:45
value for both buyer and vendors were happy with the result they got too.
00:50
Now the common theme from a lot of vendors has been about what a tough season it's been
00:54
to get their sheep to this point.
00:55
Do you think that had any impact on the vendors or the competition?
00:59
The taps turned off here in the last six months and paddock feed has been very tough.
01:04
And we're getting to a point now where water is becoming extremely short.
01:10
Luckily in the east we've had a bit more rain and things are okay there, but around here
01:16
it is tough.
01:18
It is tough, but the vendors have done an extremely good job on presenting the sheep.
01:23
Yes, they've had to throw a bit of grain at them to grow them out to their potential,
01:27
but they've done an unbelievable job in a pretty trying last six months in getting them for
01:31
this sale.
01:32
So it's a full credit score.
01:33
Twenty-five percent of our buying today come from east and south of Forbes.
01:37
You've got your Oranges, your Bathys, your Blainys, your Cowras, down to Goulburn, Crookwall,
01:43
and we had a very strong buyer from around Area Park to put a very good line of eulamps together.
01:48
All south and east of us because you go north or west of here and she's pretty ordinary.
01:53
one Falloutch and a fraternity.
02:12
And you've got this together.
02:16
Now, one first is last.
