00:00Or will he also be able to give Bill O'Brien a new job for Christmas?
00:05I've got to tell you.
00:06They could have won that one.
00:07Hey, they won the chance.
00:09No team in the history of the world kicks me in the nuts more often than B.C.
00:15I was so checked out.
00:17I said, crappy season.
00:19After Greg ruined the B.C. game against Notre Dame, I said, I'm done.
00:23They're up 28-17.
00:24I'm all in.
00:26And then he loses his ever-loving mind on the sideline.
00:31He's got an issue.
00:32He's always been that way, though.
00:34He thought the quarterback was over the line of scrimmage when he threw the ball.
00:37I get it that he's the teapot.
00:40But, I mean, you cost your team on that.
00:44That changed the game.
00:46I just don't know what he's so frustrated about.
00:49He knew the situation when he was going to Boston College.
00:52But then you've got seven games this first year.
00:55I know.
00:55Back to back.
00:56The last two years.
00:58That's on him.
00:59That's on Bill O'Brien.
01:00It's not.
01:01You know, and he keeps saying, I don't know how to coach these guys.
01:05I don't know how to get a.
01:07I need a couple extra points here.
01:08It's like, I don't know what he was thinking.
01:11Like, you know that they're not going to give you $30 million to spend on players when you're going to Boston College.
01:17That's the hot part.
01:18Yeah.
01:18That's the hot part.
01:19But maybe they had promised that there was going to be a change there when he took the job.
01:21I don't know.
01:22I'm going to have a somewhat negative BC football lead this morning.
01:27I know that's rare for me.
01:28Yeah.
01:28I didn't like something that I saw after the game.
01:30But I do think it's it's it's a sad state of college football.
01:35My lead more than just BC.
01:36But you look at that game and and I never do this.
01:39Like, I'm the type of person that when I'm at dinner, I like have my phone upside down.
01:42I don't want to see text.
01:43I don't you know, I want to be present in the moment.
01:45And once they were really in it, I couldn't I couldn't tear myself away.
01:49So I had it up like up against my glass, my water glass, watching the game at dinner.
01:54Then to end the way that it did, it was like as soon as they were in field goal range, you know.
01:58But do you guys feel like being the two BC alums that went there?
02:01Do you feel like that this might be even though it's crappy for Billy O in the way that the seasons turned out?
02:08Do you might do you believe this could be their rock bottom where they actually go?
02:12All right.
02:13For us to compete, we have to change the way we do things they need.
02:17And we have they have plenty of boosters.
02:18I mean, the money for BC alumni is very, very high.
02:22So they need those boosters to start really showing anger when it comes to the change.
02:26Father Leahy's on his way out this summer.
02:28We've got a new president coming in.
02:29But do you think this season could be the turning point for them?
02:33And I hope that it's Bill O'Brien next season for the come up.
02:36I don't want to fire Bill O'Brien today because you're not going to get a better coach.
02:41I've been asked my opinion by people over there.
02:43And I said, you need to re-engage.
02:45You need to get people that there's a ton of us in the area.
02:47You need to start explaining what you need to compete as opposed to telling us we can't compete.
02:53Also, like have a town hall.
02:54You're so right.
02:54There's so many alumni that stay in the area that go to games that are season ticket holders, etc.
02:59Don't just base it off of, you know, a board of trustees or whoever you're talking to about the football program.
03:05Talk to people that really care.
03:07Have somewhat of a town hall to figure out what the fans, what the alma mater actually want out of this program.
03:12Isn't it as simple as basically going, okay, we need to invest like the rest of the teams in the ACC into our football program when it comes to financially and the new era of, you know, revenue sharing and NILs?
03:27But they were against that once it got passed through.
03:30So you hope that that was the president and not the entire school that was against it.
03:34And now that President Leahy's on his way out, that, you know, they're.
