00:00Kenny, today we stand on hallowed football grounds as Bernabeu Stadium has been the home to Real Madrid since 1947.
00:09This building has hosted a World Cup Final, UEFA Champions League Finals, which puts it into an elite stadium category.
00:16But in order to maintain that definition, it's had three different renovations in its 80 years of existence, the most recent being in 2024.
00:24Now this hallowed football ground beneath me can actually move.
00:28This grass pitch is retractable.
00:30An automated system has been put in place where Real Madrid can move this entire field underground.
00:37The grass is maintained in an artificial greenhouse.
00:40There is ventilation. There's irrigation.
00:42The care is meticulous.
00:44However, the pitch size did not exactly line up with the NFL field size.
00:49So the league has to come in and remove some first throws here, add cement, add grass, about a yard and a half on each end zone.
00:56And so now, Kenny and Jonathan, this feels like a home NFL field.
01:00It certainly does. Thanks, Jamie.
01:03Real Madrid's home stadium since 1947.
01:07And for the first time today, NFL football.
01:11Dan Quinn took the Commanders to the NFC Championship game a season ago.
01:16Mike McDaniel, Mike McDaniel, across the way.
01:19Both teams come in at 3 and 7.
01:27Commanders won the toss.
01:29They defer.
01:32Matt Gay will get things started.
01:34We are underway in Madrid.
01:52Jaylen Wright takes a knee.
01:56Tuatongo Vailoa leads the Dolphins offense onto the field.
02:00And what a job he did last week versus the Buffalo Bills.
02:04They have no Tyreek Hill out for the year.
02:06But this connection with him and Jaylen Waddle really shined against the Bills last week.
02:11They got the victory.
02:12Like to see them do more of that.
02:13I call these like impact pass plays because Mike McDaniel, he likes to have the ball outside, quick throws.
02:19But when he wants to strike, him and Tuatongo Vailoa, they're on the same page.
02:24Get the ball to Jaylen Waddle.
02:25Make sure that you get these chunk yards in those passing plays.
02:29Allow for this offense to really continue to move the chains.
02:32Just after 3.30 in the afternoon, in McGree at 4.30 a.m. in Honolulu.
02:39The hometown of both starting quarterbacks today.
02:43Pugger Vailoa and Mariota.
02:47This is a champ coming off a sensational game against the Bills.
02:52174 yards on the ground last week.
02:54And as much as I talked about the Jaylen Waddle, Tuatongo Vailoa connection,
02:59it's really going to be Devon Achan that really sets the tone for this offense.
03:03Because you have to have him getting going in the passing game and in the running game for this offense to click.
03:09And he's been so great for this offense.
03:12Love that he's very durable.
03:13Not the biggest back.
03:15But he knows how to not take shots.
03:17He knows how to get inside and outside.
03:19Does a really good job in the running game and in the passing game.
03:21Game of 11.
03:23The first play from scrimmage.
03:2618!
03:26It is an extra blocker for Miami.
03:31Pass is caught.
03:33Another first down.
03:34Taking out to the 45-yard line.
03:37Jaylen Waddle.
03:39Gate of 15.
03:40So two plays for the Dolphins.
03:42Two first downs.
03:43Yeah, this defense for the Washington Commanders, they've really struggled in the past four weeks.
03:48And they're really trying to find themselves and find their identity.
03:51It's going to start with Frankie Louvoo, Bobby Wagner at those linebacker positions.
03:55Frankie is their best defensive player.
03:58He gets the blitz going.
04:00He's in the passing game.
04:02So they really need him to use that energy to get going.
04:05Split backs.
04:06The toss to Achan.
04:09Takes it all the way to the Washington 32-yard line.
04:14Brunskill was in at fullback.
04:17Gate of 23 for Achan.
04:19And you're going to watch the blocking up front.
04:21They stay on the track.
04:23Larry Boreham gets up there.
04:24He gets a block.
04:26Aaron Brewer, he gets a block as well.
04:28And you see that there's nobody for the Commanders shedding those blocks.
04:32Get off the blocks.
04:33By the time that they finally do, Achan is already ripping down the field for a first down.
04:38We've seen Daniel Brunskill in as an extra blocker.
04:41Number 64.
04:43Each of the first three plays.
04:44And he stays out on the field.
04:46Here for the Dolphins.
04:47It was really effective last week versus the Buffalo Bills.
04:5115!
04:53This play is blown dead.
04:58First charge.
04:59Timeout.
05:01I am.
05:02Dolphins.
05:02She's a timeout.
05:04Just over two minutes in.
05:06There's Mike McDaniel.
05:10But we talked about Dan Quinn, head coach, now calling the defensive plays.
05:15Really wasn't working under defensive coordinator Joe Witt Jr.
05:18And there you see the rankings entering week 11, just all bad.
05:22And he knows that they have to be better.
05:25And what I know about Dan Quinn, Bobby Wagner, some of these veterans, that they are very prideful.
05:30They are not going to sit around and just allow for offenses to continue to pound them the way that they have.
05:35So Dan Quinn, yes, he's calling the plays, but more of a change in attitude, right?
05:40That's what he wants to bring.
05:41He wants the defense to understand.
05:43It's not okay.
05:44Bobby Wagner, he's a commander on the field.
05:46It's not okay.
05:47Let's get after him and find a way to stop these guys.
05:49Quit telling us we didn't like our defense last week.
05:51We had to make the change.
05:52I love Joe.
05:54He's my guy.
05:55They'll still be working together.
05:57Referring to Joe Witt Jr.
06:00Pass caught, taken inside the 40-yard line.
06:04Down to the 28 by the tight end Greg Dulcich.
06:09Gator four.
06:11What I also like about Dan Quinn, we talked with Frankie Louvoo as well.
06:16They didn't make any excuses about all the injuries that they have, right?
06:19There's no Deron Payne today.
06:21He was ejected last game against the Lions.
06:23He's serving a suspension.
06:25You have both your starting corners out.
06:27But they said, look, we have guys.
06:29It's next man up mentality.
06:31We have to figure out how to stop them and then give our offense a chance.
06:35Second down and six.
06:37Jalen Wright in the backfield.
06:40On the test.
06:42It is Wright.
06:45Walked down at the 24-yard line by Bobby Wagner.
06:49So a third down and two coming up for the Dolphins on their opening possession.
06:55I could see this being four down territory for Mike McDaniel.
06:59Third and two.
07:01He's bringing back in Devon A. Chan, Jalen Waddell.
07:05This is more of a passing personnel for them.
07:07But Devon A. Chan, as I mentioned, he's so versatile.
07:10You may see him line up in the backfield.
07:12He can motion out of there, do a burst motion, be a receiver.
07:14So he had all the options for Tua in this offense right now.
07:18He's lined up in the backfield to the right of Tongo Viola.
07:22Yay!
07:23We're down to two.
07:26It is 8-10.
07:29And he has stopped just short.
07:31Yeah, as expected.
07:32You can run the football, which they did.
07:35Devon is actually really good between the tackles.
07:37And then now, this is what I like.
07:38They're bringing in their jumbo package with Ollie Gordon.
07:42Ollie Gordon, number 31.
07:44He's their sixth-round pick.
07:46And he is their bruiser.
07:47Six-foot-two, 230 pounds.
07:49They like to use him in these short-yarder situations.
07:53They brought back in Daniel Brunskill.
07:55So I can see them going big personnel, line it up, and just pounding with Ollie Gordon.
08:00In goal, did it fullback.
08:03Gordon, the rookie out of Oklahoma State.
08:07Clay Clark winding down.
08:12And they did not get the stop-off in time.
08:17How does he fly and throw?
08:18And they did not get the stop-off in time.
08:28Offense.
08:29By John Pooley.
08:31So they were going to go for it on fourth down.
08:36The last game.
08:39And now they shut down the field goal unit.
08:41That was odd.
08:42There was a quick motion by Alec Engel.
08:44Looked like it was going to be a no-brainer.
08:46Which is where they don't snap the football, try to draw the defense offside.
08:50And then instead, they just take forever, try to run the football.
08:53And then at the end, Ollie Gordon, they don't get the first down.
08:56They take a penalty.
08:56And Ollie Gordon looks like he might have been injured a little bit.
09:00Went and looked into the sideline on that.
09:02Here's Wiley Patterson.
09:0346-yard attempt.
09:11Patterson's kick is good.
09:12First-ever point scored in an NFL game here in Spain.
09:193-0 Miami.
09:25Welcome back to Madrid, the capital city located in the center of Spain.
09:30Second largest city of the European Union.
09:33Second to Berlin, Germany.
09:353-0 lead for the Dolphins.
09:433-0 lead for the Dolphins.
09:44Chase Edmonton saw the return across the 20.
10:14It's time for get more presented by Geico Marcus Mariota had a nice day against the Lions
10:22last week able to put some touch on the football getting the ball down the field but the run
10:27game was also there for him I mean you like the way that him as a backup he comes in just
10:33as effective as Jaden Daniels you see his 133.3 passer rating last week I really enjoyed talking
10:40with them because he understands the offense he really enjoys working with Cliff Kingsbury
10:45offensive coordinator and they did a nice job against a very good Lions defense last week.
10:49First down for a game of nine Chris Moore second and one as we check out the commander's
11:04offensive line.
11:05Yeah this offensive line against a four-man pressure last week they did a nice job holding
11:09up.
11:10We'll see more of his Debo Samuel Marcus Mariota connection I talked about the two
11:15of Jalen Waddell connection.
11:16Hold on hold on.
11:17I'd love to see Debo Samuel really get active today.
11:19He's been dealing with a heel injury.
11:21Looks like he's fully healthy hopefully explosive again.
11:25There's this Dolphins defense it's led by Jordan Brooks NFL's leading tackler right now and I've
11:43just had so much fun watching him on film how explosive he is how fast he is the process violent
11:49in the run game violent in the passing game I mean he's learned from Bobby Wagner.
11:54They spent four years together in Seattle and he is really starting to come into his
11:59own right now.
12:00This is a tremendous linebacker that the Dolphins have.
12:03On first down it's Rodriguez again in the Fitzpatrick made the stop gate of four.
12:14Mariota without one of his top receivers in Terry McLaurin you mentioned Deron Payne suspended
12:23the fouls.
12:24Following the punch he threw last week in the game against Detroit Daniels missing his
12:27second consecutive game.
12:28They're also without a couple of other wide outs and Burks McCaffrey.
12:32Yeah, Burks saying he had a really good game last week with Mariota tough to see him go
12:38down with the injury.
12:43It's up to 6, Mariota to the outside.
12:47It's Deebo Samuel knocked out of bounds a yard shy of the marker as we check in with Jamie.
12:53Kenny there was optimism though in our meetings with the commander's brass in that Jaden Daniels
12:58did not make the trip.
12:59However, that doesn't mean he is stagnant back in Washington.
13:03He was seen on video, a video that DQ was sent running and I was told this morning that
13:08he has even thrown a little bit.
13:10So, optimism weighs heavily with the commanders.
13:14He did not need surgery so that was certainly good news for Daniels and the commanders.
13:20Gets up and celebrates.
13:32You're going to watch Kenneth Grant.
13:35This is their first round pick and he's lining up right in the middle.
13:40The swim move that he does on Sam Cosme to get in there and then get the disruption and
13:46get the tackle for a loss.
13:47It's just a very nice play by him.
13:49at that really starting to come on and it's fourth down but it's all that's
13:54going for it the fake to Rodriguez
13:57first down completion out to midfield
14:03so the commander's able to move the chains
14:08as the count was made by the tight end Yankov and this is a nice job by the
14:12commander's offense and I really like what Cliff Kingsbury is doing he keeps
14:16that up-tempo no huddle which Marcus Mariota is raved about he really enjoys
14:21being in that he can see the defense he can scan it and he knows how to snap it
14:26quickly had the opportunity there they get the first down commanders have run
14:30more no huddle plays they're not any other team
14:35fake to Samuel and Mariota
14:39can see dark rocked out of the 49-yard line by Zeke Biggers
14:45as they stay in this no huddle one thing they do have to allow is every time a
14:51personnel change happens for the commanders the Dolphins are allowed to
14:55also substitute so as long as they are going no huddle doesn't mean that they're
14:59going up-tempo at the time 67% no huddle rate this season they continue
15:04with that right now
15:08second down at nine it's complete for a first down
15:14Jalen Lane through the Dolphins 36
15:19Jalen Lane going in motion and he's going to go up and inside and you see all the
15:26linebackers get sucked in Juju Branch trying to chase him across the field
15:30Ashton Davis makes a tackle but this has all been set up by Chris Rodriguez in
15:35that run game Marcus Mariota in that run game and Cliff Kingsbury he understands
15:39that they stay in these 12 personnel two tie-in packages continue with the run
15:44game continue with that balance now the Dolphins are looking to substitute as you
15:49just explained
15:52yeah and now that the first charge timeout Washington
15:58the commanders called timeout they were kind of in between substitution there
16:04keep the NFL in reach all season long with NFL plus premium get live local and primetime games on mobile NFL red zone
16:14NFL Network and more sign up today and plus dot NFL dot com slash network terms and conditions apply
16:23going back to that last play you saw Chris Moore looked like he was running on late they would have had 12 players so he runs
16:33back off Marcus Mariota wanted to go quickly but now as you mentioned the
16:37officials had to stop the play allow for the Dolphins to make that
16:40substitution instead of having a bad play for Kingsbury Dan Quinn they call a
16:44timeout get settled again and then continue with this offense because right now they
16:49have a really good drive going a nice balance between the run and pass game
16:53the dick calls in the backfield for the commanders
16:56from the Dolphins 36
16:59pass caught by McNichols out of the backfield
17:02so Mariota has started the game five for five there are two flags thrown
17:08Sean Smith our referee today
17:15shout it with big of Fitzpatrick
17:19make up Minka not pleased with whatever they're going to call
17:28personal foul low block defense number 29
17:3115 yards only got it to the end of the run automatic first down
17:35Minka Fitzpatrick he's going to be at the bottom left side of the screen
17:42they're trying to do away with that that's all what it was there was an
17:49offensive lineman coming out on the screenplay Minka Fitzpatrick goes to try
17:53and take his legs out they call the penalty on that
17:56as Mike McDaniel a little frustrated right now looking at this defense because
18:02they've really been marched on on this first series it's been very methodical
18:08for the commanders offense
18:09he's not responded yet five for five he's hit five different receivers
18:14this is the tenth play of the drive for Washington
18:18for the Dolphins 15
18:21faked around Likens
18:22and the pass incomplete another flag
18:25it was intended for the tight end John Bates
18:28they might be calling Tyrell Dotson for holding on John Bates
18:35the pass incomplete
18:37pass interference defense number 25
18:44ball replace that spot on the foul automatic first down
18:48that's Dodson
18:52you guys see
18:56John Bates is coming across the screen
18:59little food action
19:01and that's going to be Tyrell Dotson's man
19:04it could have been holding the balls already in the air so they call the pass interference
19:08either way it's now first set of downs for the commanders looking at a first and ten
19:14from the dolphins 11. Rodriguez in the backfield takes the handoff from Mariota
19:23with the push down inside the nine
19:27under five minutes remaining first quarter
19:30dolphins with a field goal on their opening drive and now the commanders
19:36looking to reach the end zone they've had the ball for over six minutes
19:40looks like a player is down for the dolphins
19:46that's benito jones
19:50dolphins training staff
19:55welcome back to the nfl madrid game presented by net app
20:0125-6-6-1
20:05benito jones of the dolphins
20:10injured during the last play headed into the medical tent
20:18second down at eight for the commanders
20:19down the Dolphins' 9-yard line.
20:24Through the receiver set, Rodriguez in the backfield.
20:27Here is Rodriguez inside the 5.
20:31And takes it all the way down to the 2.
20:36And that was a nice check by Marcus Marioni.
20:39He saw that the Dolphins were lighting the box.
20:41Gives a handoff to Chris Rodriguez.
20:44Barrels over Jordan Brooks for a big game.
20:48Brings up a third and short.
20:49They can pick up a first down without reaching the end zone.
20:53It's third down and one from just inside the 2.
20:56Yeah, they bring in now, as Jumbo gets,
20:59an extra offensive lineman, two tight ends.
21:03They have their big back, Rodriguez, next to Mariona.
21:06So, there you go.
21:08I'm just going to say, Tennessee says they just might win the ball here.
21:12It's Mariona on the 12th play of the drive.
21:16And he is stopped short.
21:17Yeah, see, I like the personnel.
21:21I like the setup.
21:22I don't like the play call.
21:25You have all the big guys up front go right back downhill with the big guys.
21:30You see them getting pushed.
21:31If you go outside, the speed of the Dolphins' defense is going to take over
21:35because the offensive linemen are big, but they're not fast.
21:39And the defense was faster then.
21:41Marcus Mariona gets tackled and gets stopped.
21:43Jordan Brooks, Baker Fitzpatrick, wrapped him up.
21:50Fourth down and one.
21:51There's Chris Rodriguez who started a tad bit too soon.
22:09Five-yard penalty.
22:10Fourth down.
22:11There's Chris Rodriguez who started a tad bit too soon.
22:21And look at those.
22:24You know, that little sequence right there.
22:25That third down, it looked like the commander's offense was all ready to score.
22:30Bring in the big jumbo.
22:32They started to try to run outside with the big personnel that get stopped.
22:36And then now a penalty.
22:37And they had been really good in the red zone prior to that.
22:39Both teams caught a similar opening drive, right?
22:42Miami picked up a bunch of first downs, and then they were held to a field goal.
22:46This is a 26-yard attempt.
22:48Bad game.
22:50From the left hash.
22:53We are tied at three.
22:58From Madrid, the first ever NFL game.
23:01In Spain.
23:09Marcus Mariotta completed all five of his pass attempts on the commander's first possession,
23:15which lasted just under eight minutes.
23:17And they come away with three.
23:19It was a really good-looking drive.
23:21They understand the Dolphins' defense.
23:23Not as aggressive as the Lions as far as playing man-in-your-face press-man coverage.
23:27So he took advantage of the zones.
23:30Dinkin' Duncan in the run game.
23:31He's sufficient enough to get them to almost to the touchdown, right?
23:35Goal line and then get a field goal out of it.
23:40Washington and right.
23:42Deep for Miami.
23:43The league, Washington, one of the top return down of the NFL this season.
23:54Devon A. Chan, we talked about what he did last week, and it's really the personality.
24:00You see him in the running game.
24:02He likes to run between the tackles super fast, though, so you think that he wants to bounce
24:06all the time.
24:07Instead, he can get outside in the passing game.
24:09And then they like to use him in the screen game as well.
24:12They have these called burst motions.
24:14He's over there.
24:15So as a linebacker, Bobby Wagner, Frankie Louboutin, they really have to keep their eyes on him.
24:20And it's going to really mess with them and their assignments.
24:28A. Chan, the only player, Jonathan, in the NFL this season with at least 700 yards on the ground
24:34and 300 receiving yards as well.
24:36Man, we talked with head coach Micah Gangl about A. Chan, and he said he's one of the best young players
24:42I have ever been around because he puts so much on him, a ton of responsibility, and he is so prideful
24:48of not making any mistakes.
24:49He wants to make sure he has it exactly correct to help out this Dolphins offense.
24:57They start from the 23.
25:00What a 3-3 game.
25:02Tua looking to throw.
25:06Connects with H. Chan out of the backfield.
25:09And a nice tackle.
25:10He's taken down at the 28-yard line by Jordan McGee.
25:17Last week against Buffalo, our next-gen stats powered by AWS.
25:21Forced 11 missed tackles, 100 rush yards after those missed tackles.
25:27It's a combination of his speed, his contact balance, and how strong he is.
25:32As I said, he's not a big back, but he uses that speed to bounce off the tackles.
25:36It really surprises defenders once he gets going.
25:43Pass is caught for a first down by Dulcich.
25:48That's his second reception.
25:50He gains 14.
25:51And Mike McGee was really happy to have Greg Dulcich back, or excuse me, not back.
25:57They actually picked him up.
25:58He wasn't with the team to start the season.
26:00Once Darren Waller went down, now it's supposed to be their pass-catching tight end.
26:05In comes Greg Dulcich.
26:06He can do a lot of the things that Darren Waller does.
26:09Doesn't have the same vertical speed, but you can see the pass-catching ability of Greg Dulcich.
26:20There's A-Chan on first down.
26:21A flag is thrown.
26:24A-Chan into commander's territory.
26:26Two penalty markers on the plate.
26:42There's fouls on each team.
26:44Both holding.
26:46Holding.
26:46Defense.
26:47Number 91.
26:4999 collection.
26:51Holding.
26:52Offense number 17.
26:53Those fouls offset.
26:55Replayed.
26:55There's Dan Quinn, Mike McDaniel.
27:01I see Mike McDaniel wanting to bring in this jumbo package.
27:06As much as we talk about the jumbo package for both sides, it's not always about the run.
27:11It's also about protection.
27:13Because you're allowed to now have a bigger guy.
27:15He's set his protection.
27:16He understands what he's doing.
27:18Usually when you have a tight end doing that, the D-ends have the advantage.
27:22You bring that bigger guy in, he can run the ball and protect.
27:24This is A-Chan.
27:30Not much.
27:31Second and 10 coming up for the Dolphins with under a minute remaining in his first quarter.
27:43It's all A-Chan trying to save what wasn't really a good call.
27:49You watch this fast-flowing commander's defense.
27:53Dan Quinn said that he's going to play a little more zone.
27:55He wants the guys to read and react.
27:57He wants them to fly to the football.
27:59That right there is a perfect example of them flying to the football, stopping A-Chan.
28:04What a good!
28:06Up, second down.
28:07The toss of A-Chan.
28:09And he will pick up a Miami first down.
28:14To the commander's 43-yard line.
28:17You're going to see the Dolphins are really liking this right side.
28:22They've really started to pick on the right side.
28:24The defensive linemen are not able to move laterally.
28:27They're able to hook Bobby Wagner.
28:30Speed of A-Chan.
28:31Gets him another first down.
28:33Gain of 15.
28:34He has 50 yards on the ground on only five carries.
28:39First corner comes to an end in Madrid.
28:42Tied.
28:42Three apiece.
28:43Dolphins and Commanders tied at three in Madrid.
28:55That's what they get this second quarter.
29:03Dolphins struck first.
29:05Then the Commanders went on an eight-minute drive.
29:07Settled for three.
29:07First and ten for the Dolphins from the Washington 43.
29:1718!
29:19Ready, set!
29:22Wunder by lower throws.
29:24And it's caught by A-Chan.
29:27Short game.
29:29What would you go?
29:29Jamie Chadder with Commanders head coach Dan Quinn.
29:32Coach, I know we're only one Freeman.
29:34But defensively, how can your guys click in to make it a couple more stops?
29:38Yeah, that's the big deal.
29:39And I think on the edges, on the perimeter, you know, that's the one where you can't get
29:42the extended runs on that way.
29:43So we'll go keep taking our shot, be edge setting, and that's what we need to do here
29:47in the second quarter.
29:48Offensively, you were efficient getting down to the red zone.
29:50What stalled you?
29:51Yeah, just the penalty at the end, honestly.
29:53So let's make sure we stay disciplined in that red zone.
29:55We're going to be bold.
29:56We converted on the fourth earlier.
29:58So we're going to stay in that bold way.
30:00We know we're going to need touchdowns on field goals in this game.
30:02Thanks, Coach.
30:02All right, thank you.
30:04There's a chance.
30:07Takes it down to the Washington 36.
30:09So, Jonathan, both quarterbacks have started the game five for five.
30:13Five completions, no incompletions.
30:15Hawaii 5-0.
30:18I knew there was something up.
30:20When you wanted to talk, I was like, all right, Kenny's got something.
30:22He's got something up his sleeve.
30:23That was a good one.
30:24That was a good one.
30:25Are they awake yet in Hawaii?
30:27You know what?
30:28I know they are.
30:28They've got to be watching.
30:29Marcus Marietta, Tua Tagovailoa, those two have a relationship that goes all the way.
30:34All the way back.
30:35When I mean all the way back to when Tua was in middle school all the way back, right?
30:39So, they are definitely the pride of Hawaii right now.
30:42It's 5-12 a.m. in Honolulu.
30:46That's not too bad.
30:47He's down 6-6.
30:49As he connects with number six, Malik Washington for a first down.
30:56Yeah, and just look at the time that Tua has.
30:59There's Malik Washington.
31:00He's going up and over.
31:01And what you see is, oh, excuse me, that's Shalen Waddell.
31:05What you're going to see is that Malik Washington is able to get that completion because Tua has so much time on his hands.
31:11And because of that, he's able to sit there, very calm, relaxed, and able to get the ball to a nice completion in Malik Washington.
31:19Ready?
31:20Ready?
31:2118!
31:22Let's go!
31:23Let's go!
31:23Let's go!
31:25Let's go!
31:26Let's go!
31:27Let's go!
31:27Gordon on the backfield.
31:30Takes the handoff from Tua Tagovailoa.
31:32Gordon, you were talking about him earlier, the run down of Oklahoma State.
31:37Six-round pick, takes it inside the Washington tent.
31:40And this is a direct run, wasting no time.
31:43Ollie Gordon, not the shiftiest guy, big bruiser.
31:47He knows exactly who he is.
31:49Runs between the tackles, looking for contact, and then falls forward, delivers a blow on anybody trying to tackle him.
31:56That's exactly what they're looking for from him at this running back position.
32:00And you see when they put him in, right?
32:02When it's a red zone, close to the goal line, they want those tough yards from him.
32:07Second down and two.
32:11Pass incomplete.
32:13He was looking for the tight end, Dulcich.
32:15That the first incompletion, Kenny?
32:18That is.
32:19Not either side.
32:22Just taking a look at it.
32:24I know where Tua was going with then.
32:28Dulcich, it looks like he went too vertical, had to go wide.
32:32I saw the reaction from Tua.
32:33I saw the reaction from Dulcich to see, all right, who's the one that's going to say,
32:36my bad.
32:37And it looked like it was Dulcich right now.
32:39That one.
32:40Had him open, too.
32:42Brings up a third and short.
32:44Devon A. Chan back in the game at running back.
32:46Touched play at the drive for the Dolphins.
32:51Throw down and two.
32:53Tua wrapped up.
32:55Down he goes.
32:56What a play.
32:59Brought down by Jacob Martin.
33:03What a play.
33:04Just when they need someone to step up and not allow for this third down conversion.
33:09There's Jacob Martin.
33:10And what I like is the discipline.
33:12Right?
33:12Last week, I talked about how they were undisciplined.
33:15And he was very disciplined there.
33:17Goes up the field.
33:18Makes sure he matches a hand of Tua.
33:20Doesn't allow him to get the ball out to A. Chan.
33:23And you see Dan Quino.
33:24He's excited.
33:24He knew what was coming.
33:27Nice job defensively by the commanders.
33:29That's four and a half sacks for Martin.
33:3339-yard attempt.
33:36Patterson now two for two.
33:39So the commanders with a big stop on third down.
33:43Keep Miami out of the end zone once again.
33:45Welcome back to the NFL Madrid game presented by NetApp.
33:53We come to you from the home of one of the most successful soccer clubs in the world.
33:58How appropriate that we've seen three field goals to this point.
34:02The kicking game.
34:03Real strong right now.
34:06And to say successful, man, that's an understatement.
34:09Real Madrid, we tried to compare them with an NFL team.
34:11And we put it right for as many league championships as they've worn.
34:15There was no comparison for an NFL team.
34:18Two champions.
34:19Oh, the return.
34:23Renovadeus Stadium.
34:26The home of Real Madrid since 1947.
34:31Posted the 1982 World Cup Final.
34:33Won by Italy.
34:343-1 over West Germany.
34:351.3 billion dollar renovation completed in 2024.
34:43It shows.
34:44The stadium is gorgeous inside and out.
34:47And then as I mentioned, the league championships.
34:52And we tried to compare it to an NFL team.
34:5515-time league champions.
34:5815 champions league trophies.
34:59This is the trophy room.
35:01Look at that.
35:02They've won a record 36 La Liga titles here in Spain.
35:08The only thing we could equate it to were the Yankees, right?
35:12Because we have so much parity in the NFL.
35:15We just didn't have a team going to run the way they've had and be so consistent.
35:19Well, maybe if it combined the Yankees, the Patriots, and the Montreal Canadiens all into one.
35:24And the Celtics.
35:25You're not stretching it, right?
35:26That's about right.
35:28In 2020.
35:28That's how good they've been.
35:29And he's back to work.
35:39As Rodriguez is brought down by Chop Robinson.
35:43Out goes the rookie, Jordan Phillips.
35:52And, you know, I went back and watched a little more film on him.
35:56He is as good as both defensive corner Anthony Reaver and head coach Mike McDaniel had advertised.
36:02They said this guy, the reason Jordan Brooks is making all these taxes is because this guy is playing out of his mind at that defensive tackle spot.
36:09He's going to be able to play out of his mind at that time.
36:13He's going to be able to play out of his mind at that time.
36:14And then he's caught for a commander's first down by the tight end, Zach Ertz.
36:20For a gate of 15.
36:23And there's Zach Ertz.
36:24You're going to watch him go up and run what's called a seven route.
36:28And with a clear out by Robbie Chosen, gets the safety in the corner.
36:32Juju Brent's not able to make a play on that.
36:35What I really like is the timing and the decision making.
36:38Marcus Marriott wasted no time.
36:40As soon as he saw that Juju Brent's hips were going towards Robbie Chosen, he throws it out there.
36:45Throws a beautiful shot to Zach Ertz for a first down.
36:48And he just...
36:49Robbie Chosen, the former Dolphins, the former United's Robbie Anderson.
36:54Nice cut by Rodriguez.
36:56And he picks up another commander's first down.
36:59Takes it all the way to the Dolphins 41.
37:03And Marcus Marriott has said that Rodriguez, he's a volume guy.
37:08We haven't seen their rookie, Ja'Cory Crossley Marriott, yet.
37:12But Chris Rodriguez has been handling the load.
37:15Usually gets about three, four yards a carry.
37:17Not afraid of contact.
37:18All of a sudden, he starts to wear the defense down.
37:21You see him get right through the hole.
37:22Nice burst there.
37:24And you see him dragging defenders for a first down.
37:28Then it's 17 for Rodriguez.
37:32Thanks to Rodriguez.
37:33And the ball, you know.
37:35Remains perfect.
37:36And a flag is thrown at the end of the play following the hit on Ertz.
37:48Let's take a look at the hit.
37:49Jordan Brooks is bringing down Ertz.
37:53Oh, Juju Brents.
37:57No, it looked like he went up in that head-neck area.
37:59He's trying to say that he went a little lower.
38:01He did lead with the forearm.
38:02There's no foul on the play.
38:04Second down.
38:05They pick up the flag.
38:06Yep, because he led with the forearm.
38:08He didn't lead with his head or neck.
38:10And they're saying that Zach Ertz was not a defenseless player at that time.
38:16So, no penalty.
38:18Speaking of Juju Brents, he made his first start last week versus the Bills.
38:23Had a tremendous game.
38:24And the reason why he's starting today is Rasul Douglas was about to come back.
38:30And, you know, he was getting healthy.
38:32But all of a sudden, Juju Brents does exactly what they asked of him last week.
38:35Now playing again today.
38:37Doing a nice job starting at that corner position for him.
38:41Three tight ends in for the Commanders on second and one.
38:44It's Rodriguez.
38:46Another Washington first down.
38:49You mentioned Krosky Merritt, who's had a good rookie season.
38:53Jeremy McNichols.
38:56Well, when we spoke to Cliff Kingsbury and Dan Quinn during the week,
38:59you know, as far as the running back position,
39:01it's whoever has the hot hand that it's been Rodriguez here today.
39:05It really has.
39:05He's been doing a nice job.
39:07And now he's going to get a little bit of a breather
39:09because they're putting in Devo Samuel at that running back position right now.
39:14Rodriguez, bottom of the screen.
39:16There he is at the bottom.
39:17Yes.
39:18Devo Samuel goes back in motion.
39:23Mariotta can't find it.
39:28He won.
39:30Now he throws.
39:32And it's incomplete.
39:34That's his first incomplete pass looking for Ertz in the end zone
39:38after Mariotta started the game seven for seven.
39:41Yeah, that was a very good design by Cliff Kingsbury.
39:44What he wanted and what he did get was Devo Samuel,
39:47wide receiver on a linebacker.
39:49That doesn't happen.
39:50It was nice coverage by the defense.
39:52So now Marcus Mario scrambles, tries to make a play to Ertz.
39:56I like seeing him looking downfield instead of just tucking in and running.
39:59But Cliff Kingsbury, he's got a beat right now on this Dolphins defense.
40:03The run game is there.
40:04He had a nice design.
40:05Give credit to the defense for holding up.
40:08But Cliff Kingsbury is in a nice rhythm for this offense.
40:10Well, the kickle's in the backfield.
40:15Mariotta's pass that time was high.
40:17Intended for Samuel.
40:18There is a flag.
40:29There's a mover.
40:30Number 19 never reset.
40:32Five-yard penalty.
40:32This was earlier, number 43 on the Dolphins defense.
40:44Jordan Colbert is out with a concussion.
40:51That is the information we have been given.
40:52And Benito Jones, his return is questionable.
40:57Suffered an ankle injury.
40:58So a couple of Dolphins defenders not on the field.
41:07Turn down and 10 for the commanders.
41:14Mariotta sets.
41:16Again, couldn't factor the one.
41:17And he's taken down.
41:19Back at the 34-yard line by Tyrell Dodson.
41:24His fourth sack of the season.
41:25Yeah, it really starts with Bradley Chubb.
41:28He's been their most consistent defensive lineman all season.
41:32Goes up and under.
41:33Takes on both offensive linemen.
41:35Fourth is Mariotta.
41:36Go outside.
41:38And that leaves a nice play for Tyrell Dodson to get the sack.
41:41Nice job defensively by the Dolphins.
41:43And you kind of look at this series and the previous series.
41:47The commanders are able to move the football.
41:49Then all of a sudden they have these miscues and penalties and errors.
41:52And it sets them back having to settle for field days.
41:55And this attempt is from 51 yards from the left half.
41:58Now Gay.
42:00And his kick is no good.
42:03Wide to the right.
42:07So a penalty and then a set.
42:09Forced the commanders back.
42:10And they come out of this possession with nothing.
42:22It's time for defensive spotlight.
42:25Presented by defender.
42:28And I turn it over to my middle linebacker.
42:30I love watching these two linebackers.
42:32Bobby Wagner, Jordan Brooks.
42:34The way that they've been tackling machines all season long.
42:37And Jordan Brooks.
42:38He was so effusive over his praise for Bobby Wagner.
42:42And how he helped him the first four years at Seattle.
42:45Called him a big brother.
42:46Said it was a blessing to be around Bobby Wagner.
42:49To understand what it is to be a linebacker.
42:51What it is to clear yourself and be a captain.
42:54And see how well he's playing for the Dolphins.
42:56Talking about lower to the outside.
42:58That's Waddle.
42:58His second catch today.
43:04Game of seven.
43:05That was the Dolphins shuffle in personnel.
43:08Is that a friend of yours?
43:09No sir.
43:10He might have been on my flight up here though.
43:13There were a lot of Dolphins fans on my flight up here.
43:16It was really good to see that we're all excited.
43:18I mean the team's record isn't that good.
43:20They don't care.
43:21They saw a good victory against the Buffalo Bills.
43:24And hoping to continue on that today.
43:26Team.
43:28Let's go.
43:28That's a good one.
43:32That's a good one you saw.
43:33Eddie Chan loses a couple.
43:38Eddie Goldman coming up to make the play.
43:43Starting to see that commander's defense coming alive just a little bit.
43:47It's been a while since we've seen them get some stops at or near the line of scrimmage.
43:54It's been a while since we've seen them celebrate.
43:56You kind of see the body language changing for them.
43:58And I mentioned it early on man.
44:00The pride that Dan Quinn plays, Carl's defense is with, Bobby Wacker plays with.
44:07Back at the 34-yard line.
44:11It's Jonathan Jones.
44:12And you're going to see he's going to be coming from the right side, Jonathan Jones.
44:21And this is a little different than what Dan Quinn, or excuse me, Joe Wynn had been calling, right?
44:26You hadn't seen those types of plays before.
44:28You saw some very generic types of blitzes.
44:31Everybody was able to see it this time.
44:33Nice disguise by Jonathan Jones, Dan Quinn.
44:37There was nowhere for Tua to go.
44:38That's the second sack on Tua now with great discipline from that defense.
44:46This is the first punt of today's game.
44:50Brought up the sidelines by Lee.
44:54Mariota.
44:55The Cavaliers will take over.
44:57There is a flag.
45:01During the kick, holding.
45:18Kicking team number 35.
45:20Half the distance, penalty to the goal.
45:22First down.
45:26So that will force the Commanders back.
45:28On Thursday here in Madrid, both the Commanders and Dolphins hosted youth football clinics,
45:38along with former Commanders Santana Moss and London Fletcher on hand.
45:44They taught American football fundamentals to 180 youth.
45:48They taught American football clubs.
45:49They taught American football clubs.
45:50They taught American football clubs.
45:51They taught American football clubs.
45:52They taught American football clubs.
45:53They taught American football clubs.
45:54They taught American football clubs.
45:55They taught American football clubs.
45:56They taught American football clubs.
45:57They taught American football clubs.
45:58They taught American football clubs.
45:59They taught American football clubs.
46:00They taught American football clubs.
46:01They taught American football clubs.
46:02They taught American football clubs.
46:03They taught American football clubs.
46:04They taught American football clubs.
46:05They taught American football clubs.
46:06They taught American football clubs.
46:07They taught American football clubs.
46:08They taught American football clubs.
46:09They taught American football clubs.
46:10They taught American football clubs.
46:11They taught American football clubs.
46:12They taught American football clubs.
46:13They taught American football clubs.
