00:00Down to the one.
00:04Roger Luever bringing down Achan.
00:07Kept him out of the end zone, third and goal.
00:11Take a look at Bobby Wagner on this tackle.
00:14Achan has a full head of steam.
00:18And just, bam, stops him.
00:20Stops him cold in his tracks, setting up this third and goal.
00:25Nice job, Bobby Wagner.
00:26The Dolphins fans, they thought they had the touchdown.
00:30Roger Luever combo.
00:31That's right.
00:32They didn't realize he was tackling Achan on that play.
00:38Tenth play of the drive for the Dolphins.
00:41This is Gordon.
00:43He's in.
00:47Holly Gordon.
00:50One of the Miami Dolphins touchdown.
00:56And just watch the offensive line, the push they get up front.
01:03He doesn't get touched until he's in the end zone.
01:06This is a nice job up front.
01:08Everybody clears out that hole for Ollie Gordon.
01:11225 pounds.
01:13Bowls over that corner for an easy touchdown.
01:15That's the point is good.
01:33We are tied at 13 in Madrid.
01:36Welcome back to the NFL Madrid game presented by NetApp.
01:46Twelve and a half remaining.
01:48Tied at 13.
01:50It's too early to mention that the last time Washington played overseas in 2016,
01:55the game ended in a tie.
01:57Too early.
01:58Too early.
01:58Give it another five minutes, can you?
02:00Bring it back up.
02:02Against the Bengals.
02:02That Wembley in London.
02:05Here's Edmonds on the return.
02:09Edmonds takes it out 10 to 30.
02:13As Marcus Mariota leaves the commander's offense back out.
02:17Very good to see Marcus Mariota coming back out.
02:21Ready to go.
02:22He gave the nod when he came out at the 10.
02:23Hey, he's good to go.
02:25Like to see that.
02:26And then Chris Kingsbury wasting no time bringing back in.
02:3074.
02:30Brandon Coleman.
02:31They've had a lot of success with that.
02:34But what I do want to see is a little more Zach Ertz.
02:37I want to see him get involved more.
02:41Right now, he is out of the game when he comes back in.
02:44I want to see something where it's designed for him.
02:45This is a three-time co-bouler.
02:47Your best tight end.
02:48Best pass-catching tight end.
02:50Get him involved as well.
02:51Yeah, it was three receptions today.
02:56Commander start from the 40 in a tie game.
02:59Toss.
03:00Crosskey Barrett.
03:01Takes it out to the 40-yard line.
03:06Puts up with Commander's first down.
03:08That's his best run of the day.
03:10Yeah, and you have Juju Brantz is down now.
03:13Cornerback for the Dolphins.
03:14And he had a very nice game against the Bills.
03:18Looks like he's holding his foot ankle area.
03:20Commissioner Roger Goodell on hand here in Madrid.
03:29It's the seventh and final international game of the regular season.
03:35And we've been overseas twice this year.
03:38We worked the game in London earlier this season, now here in Madrid.
03:42And you can just feel the excitement everywhere you go in the city in the days leading up to the games.
03:48Yeah, I would say it's been a success.
03:49This one, we called one in London as well, Tottenham Stadium.
03:54It has been, right now, just looking at a sold-out stadium, right?
03:58Sold-out crowd.
03:59Over 80,000.
04:00Yes, and then what about all the fanfare outside?
04:03All the fans that were going into the hotels.
04:06We saw just a bunch of commotion.
04:07The energy, right, that it brought to the city of Madrid, it's phenomenal.
04:11So, I'm sure we're going to be doing more games here.
04:15And I know we have Melbourne, Australia to start next year.
04:18I mean, it's going to be a nice series of international games in 2026.
04:22I mean, it's going to be a nice series of international games.
04:52We're actually really good games.
04:53The one we called, it came down to the wire, and Minnesota pulled out that victory.
04:57And right now, we're in a tie game in the fourth quarter.
05:01There's Samuel.
05:03Cut down on second and six by Jack Jones.
05:09All-time great linebacker, London Fletcher,
05:15shouted with the commissioner prior to the game,
05:17now handles the color analysis on the radio broadcasts for the commanders.
05:24Man, I used to watch London Fletcher when I was playing,
05:27and I couldn't wait until the offseason.
05:29I'd watch him.
05:30I'd watch Ray Lewis, Zach Thomas.
05:32They were the top three linebackers back then.
05:34I'd watch them, try to study their tapes, see what they did so well.
05:38London Fletcher, man, he was an awesome linebacker.
05:40Mariotta on third down and nine, picks up the first, and still going.
05:46Marcus Mariotta inside the 20, and finally, knocked out of bounds.
05:55Ball spotted at the 16-yard line of the Dolphins as Mariotta runs for 43.
06:02They just opened up that one side.
06:05Yes, it's a passing down, obvious passing situation,
06:07but you have to understand who's that quarterback.
06:11Marcus Mariotta, frankly, won a Heisman
06:14because of how well he used his legs and in the passing game.
06:17He's been doing it his whole career
06:19and rips off a big game for the commanders.
06:21By the way, his longest career rush, twice as long as that one, 87 yards.
06:28He's still got it.
06:29That one went for 43.
06:32A huge play on third down and eight.
06:36Now, Krosky Barrett takes it inside the Miami 10.
06:39Yeah, he's still got it,
06:40and it was so interesting to talk with Cliff Kingsbury
06:44and Dan Quinn about him, how they raved about him.
06:47Remember, they said that he was their number one free agent signing,
06:50that they had to get back.
06:52He was there with them last year.
06:54He's been helping Jayden Daniels,
06:55and they said the way that he just exuberates confidence,
07:00mentorship, selflessness,
07:01they had to bring him back, and you see the reason why.
07:05Now, remember, he was shaking up, missed the play on that last drive.
07:09There's Krosky Barrett up the middle.
07:10Mariano now in his 11th season,
07:20won the Heisman back in 2014.
07:24This is his 100th NFL game, his 79th start,
07:28and everybody we talked to with the Commanders Organization
07:33speaks so highly of Mariotta,
07:36and as you mentioned, the mentorship.
07:41And now Debo Samuel will take the snap.
07:43Mariotta, top of the screen.
07:45Here's Samuel.
07:48And Samuel, on third down and two,
07:51picks up a Commander's first down.
07:53And there's Juju Brantz.
07:56He is limping off.
07:58Man, feel badly for him.
07:59He made his first start for the Dolphins last week.
08:02Really had a good game.
08:03Earned the start today.
08:06He's one of those corners doing everything they ask of him,
08:10coming up and tackling,
08:11making plays on the football.
08:13That's going to be a big loss for that Dolphins defense.
08:15First and goal for the Commanders from the Dolphins 5.
08:26Mariotta hands it off.
08:29Kroski-Berrick.
08:30Teammates call him Bill.
08:33Seventh-round pick having a terrific rookie season.
08:36Yeah, he used to have a bald haircut.
08:38Back when he was a kid, they all called him Bill.
08:41Then when he got off to that tear the first five weeks,
08:43his teammates started calling him Wild Bill.
08:45Slowed down a little bit, but I'd like to see him back in there.
08:50I mean, he is their best back athletically.
08:53But Dan Quinn said he goes and chases plays.
08:56What he means is he's trying to make that 70-yard home run rush
08:59as opposed to just taking a four or five yards.
09:07Second and goal for Washington.
09:10For Nichols.
09:11Yeah, I can see Cliff Kingsbury.
09:20He's setting up for Marcus Mario to kick that football,
09:24have a run pass option with him and Zach Hurts on to the outside.
09:28So you kind of just lull this defense asleep,
09:31hand it to Chris Rodriguez,
09:32hand it to Chris Rodriguez.
09:33All of a sudden, pull it.
09:35You're out the gate on the outside for a touchdown.
09:37Here comes Brandon Coleman, the extra blocker.
09:40Yeah, it looks like Sam Cosby is down.
09:42The commander's right guard.
09:48Checked out by the medical staff back.
09:51It's time for Eat and Play, presented by David Busters.
09:56Taking a look at Marcus Mariota, the way he's been playing today,
10:00he's definitely been eating.
10:01He's made the throws to the outside, the in-breaking routes,
10:04and when they needed him the most, comes back,
10:07rushes for a huge 43-yard gain,
10:10setting up this commander's offense.
10:13Debo Samuel right there as well.
10:15And you just really like the way that this offense has been playing.
10:17Marcus Mariota has been the leader of the offense,
10:21and it doesn't get much better than that.
10:22Your best player, Jaden Daniels, he goes down.
10:25In comes Marcus Mariota,
10:27continuing to lead this offense and being very productive.
10:29Andrew Wiley in it, right guard.
10:32The gift to Rod Rinkins, and he has stopped short.
10:40It'll be fourth down.
10:44Defensive tackles coming up.
10:46Huge Jordan Phillips rookie.
10:48Just walks away that they're setting the front,
10:50they're setting the line, they're pushing it back.
10:52Benito Jones does the same thing.
10:55And that is what the defense have been missing.
10:58In those first few weeks, they were trying to find themselves
11:00and find their identity, and now they know who they are.
11:04They need to be able to stop the run, come up and tackle,
11:07create takeaways, and help the Dolphins defense,
11:09or excuse me, help the Dolphins win.
11:16First and goal.
11:17Play clock winding down in a timeout.
11:21Take it by the commanders.
11:22If I may, kick off your weekdays with NFL Network,
11:34and this crew on Good Morning Football,
11:37football's favorite morning show, I may be biased,
11:39breaks down every trending storyline in the NFL.
11:41It's Good Morning Football, weekdays at 8,
11:43only on NFL Network.
11:45However, I'm a little spoiled, guys.
11:47In Spain, it starts at 2 p.m., which I enjoy doing that,
11:50as opposed to 5 a.m. Pacific time.
11:52And I know you'll be back in the studio
11:54bright and early Tuesday morning.
11:56I will, I will, yeah.
11:57You know it, you know it.
11:58I can't stay away.
11:59Love the game.
11:59But, Jamie, we are A-OK with a little bias.
12:01It is all good.
12:02Yeah, you know me.
12:03Ask me, what's the best morning show on TV?
12:05Ah, GMFB, but what do I know?
12:07Thanks, guys.
12:09We certainly agree.
12:10Sam Cosby back in at right guard.
12:18We got Zach Ertz sitting right there,
12:22going in motion.
12:24Force and goal.
12:26Ariadne's pass is incomplete.
12:29He slipped.
12:32They had exactly what they wanted.
12:34He slipped, and you see the frustration for both of them.
12:37Nice play called by Cliff Kingsbury.
12:39Execution wasn't there.
12:40Slips as he goes inside.
12:42It would have been a touchdown.
12:44Instead, huge fourth down stop for the Dolphins defense.
12:49This was the first time that Cliff Kingsbury was showing this play,
12:53this look with Zach Ertz.
12:55And the frustration, Marcus Mariota, he knows that it was there.
13:00Zach Ertz knows it was there.
13:03They had Austin Davis beat the safety.
13:05Instead, he slips.
13:06No points on the board for the Commanders.
13:10Tied game, six minutes left,
13:12and Dolphins having to come out of their own end zone.
13:1518!
13:16Remember earlier, the Dolphins were stopped on fourth and goal from close range.
13:21Take it!
13:22Take it!
13:22Take it!
13:23Take it!
13:23Take it!
13:23Take it!
13:24Take it!
13:24Take it!
13:25Take it!
13:25Take it!
13:26Take it!
13:26Take it!
13:27Take it!
13:27Take it!
13:28On first down, it's Gordon.
13:30Gordon picks up the Dolphins first.
13:32Out across the 20.
13:34Dragged down by Jeremy Reeves.
13:38Take it to 20.
13:40So I'm surprised here.
13:41If you just watch Bobby Wagner, he always flows with the football.
13:45Instead, he flew the—he flowed or whatever the past tense is.
13:48The other way, and it allowed Ollie Gordon to go for a big game.
13:52He's usually very good at tracking the football.
13:54He sees the hole just like the running backs do.
13:57That time went backside.
13:58Instead, Ollie Gordon stays frontside and gets a huge game for the Dolphins.
14:02What a yard pickup.
14:04We saw London Fletcher earlier.
14:05Bobby Wagner today matched London.
14:08Fletcher, 14th Street seasons with 100 tackles.
14:12They are the only two to do that this century.
14:16Nice tackle made there.
14:17Back in the 19-yard line by Preston Smith on A-Chan.
14:24Next-gen stats powered by AWS.
14:28Talked about the rush yards after missed tackle by A-Chan last week.
14:3429 more today.
14:37And to look at A-Chan, the difference between a lot of those running backs and him,
14:40he's a little smaller than them, right?
14:42But, again, he's very, very built.
14:44He's very low, built well, compact.
14:47Good balance.
14:50Listed at 5'9".
14:51Lost two on that previous play.
14:56Suck it down at 12.
14:58Pass is dropped by Ronald.
15:00And who says it's on me?
15:05Tops his chest.
15:06My fault.
15:08I don't know who else would be on, but, yes, you are correct.
15:12Tua does a nice job.
15:13He's pulling those linebackers to create the window.
15:16So, if you see him looking left, Frankie Lou Lou, Bobby Wagner, they start going that way.
15:21Had a nice hole, nice wide open hole for Jalen Waddell.
15:25Of course, Jalen Waddell couldn't catch the football.
15:28Let's see if they go back to a screen here to A-Chan.
15:31They like doing the screens on third and long.
15:36Tua on third down.
15:37There is a flag.
15:38He escapes.
15:41And now he's taken down by Vaughn Miller.
15:44We'll check with Sean Smith.
15:50This looks to be a hold on the Dolphins.
15:53Holding.
15:54Offense number 55.
15:56Got penalties to climb as all the players throw them down.
16:01That's Aaron Brewer in the middle of your screen.
16:09And it's definitely a hold on Devon Kinloch.
16:14It was a weird design of a play.
16:17It looked like a screen out to A-Chan.
16:19None of the offensive linemen went out there to help him.
16:21So, then Tua was just stuck holding the football.
16:27Come on.
16:28Ball loose.
16:29Well, the Dolphins say they have it.
16:33Sanristill was back deep.
16:36Couldn't control it.
16:40And it will be Dolphins football.
16:46It didn't look good from the start for Mikey Sanristill.
16:50You saw him trying to judge the football.
16:52And then you see now he's just almost in frantic mode
16:55to go and get the football.
16:57And it goes right between his arms.
17:07And there's Ethan Bonner celebrating that fumble recovery.
17:10Went right between his arms.
17:14Lane was shaken up earlier.
17:16He's the punt retarder.
17:17That was the first time Sanristill handled one all season.
17:24Salute to service is the year-round effort for the NFL
17:26and its charitable partners to honor, empower, and connect
17:30with our nation's service members, veterans, and their families.
17:34At this time each year, the NFL reinforces our support and gratitude
17:37to those who have served and continue to serve.
17:40Visit nfl.com slash salute to learn about the NFL's impact with its salute
17:45to service partners.
17:47Jalen Lane is the usual punt retarder.
17:50Suffered a hip injury earlier.
17:51Sanristill has not returned a punt in his two-year NFL career.
17:56And he had trouble with that one.
17:58And gives the ball back to the Dolphins in a tie game
18:01with just over four minutes remaining.
18:03As Gordon is wrapped up on first down by Igbenogany.
18:10And not only that, when we were down there before the game,
18:12we were watching the punters who were playing the football.
18:15And I remember looking up, and it was a little disorienting, all right?
18:18The lights are a little different than the usual stadiums in the United States
18:23at the NFL game.
18:24So I could understand where Sanristill, as you could tell,
18:27he looked like he just panicked at that point, right?
18:30And there are the lights where it's usually up on the outside.
18:35Tough position for Sanristill to be in at this moment in the game.
18:40Shulkin's on a dime.
18:42That's A-Chan.
18:43He picks up a Dolphins first down.
18:46Inside the Commanders, 30.
18:48Day of 12 for A-Chan.
18:51The Commanders have two timeouts.
18:53They're going to have the two-minute warning,
18:54but they're definitely going to have to start thinking about conserving time here.
18:58They don't want the Dolphins to get another first down,
19:01run out the clock, and kick a field goal to win the game.
19:07New set of downs for Mike McDaniels.
19:09Dolphins.
19:11They defeated the Buffalo Bills last week.
19:18Each team with two field goals and a touchdown today.
19:22There's A-Chan.
19:27Walks again.
19:34Clock continues to run.
19:39And now a timeout.
19:41Taked it by Washington.
19:43That's what I was expecting.
19:44Washington is going to have to hopefully hope that they're going to have a stop here defensively,
19:52kick the field goal, and they still have some time to be able to get the ball
19:55and then go down and try and kick the field goal themselves.
19:57So, two-and-a-half remaining here in Madrid with the Commanders and the Dolphins tied at 13.
20:09The turnover committed a moment ago on the attempted punt return by Saner Steel,
20:15putting the Dolphins in excellent position.
20:18Yeah, and then, again, Saner Steel, his first time in that position in a foreign environment.
20:22I mean, you know, it's tough for them.
20:25Right now, he has the opportunity to figure out how he's going to stop this Dolphins defense.
20:29It's second and medium.
20:31If they can hold him here, kick the field goal, give their offense some time on the clock
20:36to go down and try to match that field goal.
20:38They have just worn out the Commanders' left side of the defense.
20:59All the big runs have been to the offensive right,
21:02and they have worked that since the first quarter.
21:05They haven't stopped.
21:06It had been six-yard gains early on, seven, eight-yard gains in the third quarter.
21:10Now you're seeing these big chunks getting ripped off to that right side.
21:172.29 on the clock.
21:20Commanders down to one timeout.
21:24Let's look at the red zone combined.
21:26And six drives, some of that self-inflicted errors,
21:29and then good defense on the other side.
21:33H.N. gains a yard.
21:35Timeout.
21:37Third and final timeout taken by the Commanders.
21:41Down to 2.24.
21:51And a Washington defense today.
21:53They were much more aggressive than what we saw last week.
21:56Jonathan Jones gets that sack.
21:58Jacob Martin gets that.
21:59He was very disciplined on that one as well.
22:02Bobby Wagner always stepping up, making the pass deflection.
22:06So you've seen some good or flashes of some good Washington Commanders' defense
22:11of what they can be, what we were used to seeing, especially last year.
22:14Only 265 total yards allowed today.
22:17So, overall, good defense now.
22:19The run game, still a question mark.
22:21You see some big chunks getting ripped off.
22:23But you at least like where they're headed.
22:25Dan Quinn calling it better.
22:27You're talking about Bobby Wagner.
22:29I've mentioned him all day today.
22:31He's getting those guys wild up, fired up.
22:33Frankie Lubu as well.
22:35So this is a better defense that we're seeing as they move forward for the stretch of the season.
22:39So this takes us to the two-minute warning.
23:05Third and goal coming up for the Dolphins in a tie game here in Madrid.
23:20Coming up next, the Mercedes-Benz post-game, star of the game interview, preview of the Lions and the Eagles.
23:27Two minutes remaining.
23:30Third and goal for the Dolphins.
23:34There's A-Chan.
23:40And he is stuck.
23:43Kinlaw makes the play.
23:46No timeouts for Washington.
23:49Clock continues to run.
23:51Let's take a look at Kinlaw.
23:53So aggressive.
23:54Abuses the tight end.
23:57Sheds that block.
23:58Bobby Wagner, of course, gets in on it.
23:59Helps him out.
24:00Making sure that Devon A-Chan doesn't bowl in for a touchdown.
24:03Nice job defensively.
24:06He just loves seeing these guys just bowl up.
24:11Unfortunately, A-Chan is still down for the Dolphins.
24:14But that was a heck of a defensive play by Kinlaw.
24:26Dolphins medical staff out on the field.
24:29Tending to A-Chan.
24:32It will be fourth and goal.
24:34Clock now at a minute 44.
24:38Well, I see no sign of the field goal unit coming on.
24:46Mike McDaniel has some time to think about it here.
24:49Yep.
24:50Yep.
24:50More importantly, Devon A-Chan able to get up on his own.
24:59He's walking right now.
25:02A little limp, but at least he doesn't have a trainer trying to help him, you know, get to the sidelines.
25:08So, that's encouraging to see.
25:13As a matter of fact, all the trainers are gone.
25:15They're just going back.
25:16And it looks like he probably just got the wind knocked out of them or something.
25:19So, that's all good.
25:20And the injury comes at a very opportune time for the commanders because it stopped the clock.
25:28It stopped the clock, but take a look at what's going on with the Dolphins' offense because they are not kicking it.
25:35They are going for it.
25:36On fourth down, Tua is in there.
25:38Ollie Gordon's in there.
25:40It looked like I saw the Daniel Brunskill going in there.
25:42Jumbo offensive lineman.
25:45At three and seven, why not, right?
25:47Right.
25:50Especially when you're giving the ball back with this much time.
26:02Jordan in the backfield.
26:07Fourth and goal from the one.
26:09Here's Gordon.
26:10He's stopped.
26:13For the second time,
26:17the Dolphins stopped on fourth and goal.
26:20From close range,
26:22Eddie Goldman and Frankie Louvoo make the play for Dan Quinn's defense.
26:27That play had no chance.
26:30Look at how quickly the commander's defense gets in the backfield.
26:36What a job.
26:37That is what they've been looking for all season long.
26:41Look at Zach Ertz.
26:42You think he's not happy.
26:43He goes out there to celebrate with his defenders.
26:46His teammates, man, that was a heck of a play.
26:51I told you, DQ, he wasn't going to allow what we saw last week versus the Lions,
26:56where they were just getting run on.
26:59They were getting penalties.
27:00It was just all bad.
27:01And he is too good of a coach.
27:03Bobby Wagner, Frankie Louvoo.
27:05These are too good of players to allow that to continue to happen.
27:09Who's the happiest commander right now?
27:10Mikey Sanders still.
27:11Oh, you know it.
27:13You know it.
27:13Saved him from that punt,
27:15muff punt that he had.
27:16So now Washington, with no timeouts,
27:23starts with their three-yard line.
27:29Mariotta with the flow from the end zone,
27:31and it's caught.
27:33First down and more.
27:35Out across the 30-yard line,
27:37it's Debo Samuel.
27:4028 yards on the catch and run.
27:42And Debo Samuel finds the hole in the zone,
27:46sits in it.
27:47Marcus Mariota sees it.
27:49That is just too easy a pitch and catch for him and Debo.
27:54Commanders look to get into field goal range.
28:00And now, if you're the Dolphins,
28:02as Mike McDaniel just does.
28:04Following the carry by McNichols.
28:06That's right.
28:06Dolphins call timeout with a minute 10.
28:08That's correct.
28:09You've got to call timeout right here.
28:11Save some time.
28:12And it goes both ways.
28:13Now it's second and long.
28:15So you have a minute and 10.
28:16If you get to third,
28:17you call a timeout again.
28:19Now if they don't convert,
28:20you get the ball back.
28:21Right?
28:22And then you have an opportunity.
28:23But if the commanders go down,
28:25they do get in the field goal range.
28:27You want to try and save as much time as you can
28:29for your offense to be able to go down
28:31and try and tie the game.
28:33So it's quickly how the momentum changes,
28:35situation changes.
28:36Wow.
28:3713 for 13.
28:38And goal-to-go drives entering today.
28:40stopped twice on fourth and goal from inside the two.
28:45And the commanders were stopped once in a similar situation.
28:48Second down and nine for Washington.
28:59Mariano's pass complete out to the 35-yard line, Ernst.
29:06Now the Dolphins call timeout.
29:10Down to a minute five from Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.
29:16Frank Sinatra performed here in 1986.
29:19Bruce Springsteen, the first artist to perform here on more than one occasion.
29:23New two, the Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift in May of 2024.
29:29And today it's the Commanders and the Dolphins in a tie game with just over one minute remaining in regulation.
29:43Both teams out of timeouts.
29:45Let's take a look at this bunch formation with Debo Samuel and Zach Ertz.
29:52They like running these drug routes and having Debo Samuel run that out route.
29:59Throw down at six.
30:00Mariano complete.
30:01First down and more for the Commanders.
30:05Knocked out of bounds at the 40-yard line is Jacoby Jones.
30:10His first catch today, a gain of 25.
30:13This is a beautiful design by Cliff Kingsbury.
30:17Jacoby Jones is doing what Debo Samuel had usually been doing.
30:21So Debo Samuel goes inside.
30:23Zach Ertz clears out.
30:24And they let Jacoby Jones do the work.
30:26They never expected that he would be the first option.
30:30He certainly was.
30:31He makes the most of it.
30:32And now they're in field goal range to possibly win the game.
30:38Dolphins have no timeouts left.
30:40So the Commanders can run this clock down, set up for a field goal.
30:44That was the first career catch for Jones.
30:47There's McNichols.
30:48To the 38-yard line.
30:52I mean, what confidence does Cliff Kingsbury have?
30:56And Jones and the Mariota, both of them understanding he's the first option.
31:01There's Dan Quinn looking in.
31:03I mean, it was all gloomy and dark for Dan Quinn just about a minute ago.
31:08Nice stop on fourth down by the Commanders' defense.
31:11And here you are seeing the Commanders' offense in field goal range.
31:13No, no, no, no, no, no.
31:15That could have been really ugly.
31:25Minkum Fitzpatrick is coming in on the blind side of Marcus Mariota.
31:31So you're seeing that if he doesn't time that perfectly and get the ball out,
31:34that could have been a sack strip fumble.
31:37Instead, he throws it out there in completion and brings up now third and long.
31:43From here, it would be a 57-yard attempt.
31:51Matt Gage, career-long, is 58.
31:56Right now, they have Zach Ertz at the bottom.
31:59He's one-on-one.
32:01Mariano.
32:03He even went downfield.
32:05And it's off the head of the intended receiver, Chris Moore.
32:11And he remains down.
32:13Chris Moore is in the middle of this bunch.
32:20Hey, you know what?
32:21I like that.
32:21I like that a lot.
32:23I didn't realize that Minka Fitzpatrick is the one covering Moore.
32:27Now, Minka is a very good cover safety, so it's not like it's a complete mismatch.
32:31But if you have corner-on-receiver, corner-on-receiver, safety-on-receiver, you go to that guy, right?
32:38And it's the safety-on-the-receiver.
32:39Hopefully, Moore is okay.
32:41It was a nice try.
32:42I mean, the execution wasn't there.
32:44So here's Matt Gage from 56 yards out.
32:48It is no good.
32:51Wide to the right.
32:58Second time Gage has missed here today.
33:02Hold was good.
33:09He just pushed it.
33:10And you see the frustration on his face.
33:19Dan Quinn, the rest of the sideline, obviously disappointed.
33:22This game has gone up and down in the last three minutes.
33:25You thought the Dolphins were going to punch it in.
33:27Not so much.
33:28Then Commanders, not so much.
33:30Now, with 10 seconds and no timeouts, Dolphins need about 15 yards to get into field goal range for Patterson.
33:36Correct.
33:37Now, you're going to see that the Commanders are protecting the sidelines.
33:40If they throw something inbounds, they won't have enough time to get that field goal unit out on the field.
33:45Now, Tua to the near side.
33:49Waddle bottled it and is unable to make the catch.
33:56Let's say he caught that at about, what, the 45?
33:59So it would have been about a 63-yarder.
34:03Now, a little bit behind Waddle.
34:05Usually, Tua is better at placing the ball, you know, ahead of him.
34:08We'd seen him throw some beautiful balls to Waddle before that.
34:14Now, four seconds left.
34:16You see everybody getting back for the Commanders.
34:28Call this prevent defense.
34:30All the defenders are back.
34:31So this pass caught by H.N.
34:40No chance to win it or win to a teammate.
34:43Time runs out here in the fourth quarter.
34:46And we will head to extra time here in Madrid.
34:51Fitting.
34:51We always had extra time.
34:54We always had those close games, except when it's Detroit.
34:56Detroit, for some reason, they like to just blow out their opponent when we're calling those games.
35:01So the Dolphins and Commanders tied at 13 as we head to overtime.
35:12Coin toss coming up.
35:13Both teams will have the opportunity to possess.
35:16One time in the period.
35:18Two timeouts per team.
35:19All replays initiated from upstairs.
35:22And as I mentioned, last time Washington played overseas, I was here.
35:27Our producer, Fran Morrison, here, meeting Wembley.
35:32Fran Morrison on hand as well.
35:34And it finished at a tie.
35:35Washington and Cincinnati.
35:38Gary, set us up.
35:39You said it.
35:40About 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
35:43And we already kind of knew where it was heading.
35:45So here we are.
35:46Back to the overtime period.
35:48We'll play a fourth quarter, 10-minute overtime period where each team will have an opportunity to possess the ball unless there's a defensive score during that first possession.
35:57If a team that initially possesses the ball for the entirety of that overtime period, then the game will end.
36:03If the game is tied at the end of the overtime period, the game will end in a tie.
36:08We'll play fourth quarter timing rules.
36:10Each team will have two timeouts.
36:11And all reviews will come from upstairs.
36:13Any questions?
36:15All right.
36:15Washington being the visiting team, you'll make a call.
36:18This is Heads.
36:19This is Tails.
36:20What's your call?
36:23This is Heads.
36:24Yep.
36:24Tails is the call.
36:26Tails is the call.
36:28Heads, Miami win.
36:29We'll go second.
36:30Take about second.
36:31So we'll kick it first.
36:33You want to go on defense?
36:34Yeah.
36:35All right.
36:36Which end of the field?
36:38Which end of the field?
36:41So Miami's won the toss.
36:43They like to kick the ball.
36:44Watch to receive the ball.
36:45And they send them to you.
36:46So that was Laramie Thompson, the former Dolphin, who made the call.
36:49Miami won the toss.
36:51And you heard Tua.
36:53Dolphins will kick off.
36:56Overtime coming up from Madrid.
37:03Down to Madrid.
37:05Here's a look at how he got here with the Commanders and Dolphins.
37:09Tied at 13.
37:11Some terrific defensive stands down at the goal line.
37:14Commanders stopping the Dolphins twice.
37:17Dolphins stopped the Commanders once.
37:19Over 78,000 in attendance.
37:22And they will be treated to overtime.
37:29Colts and Falcons went to overtime last week at Berlin.
37:32Kickoff sails through the end zone.
37:46So, Marcus Mariotta.
37:49He's thrown for 213 yards.
37:51Had a touchdown.
37:52Also had that big 43-yard run.
37:56Matting partner, Josh Harris.
37:57Wife Marjorie also owns the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils.
38:03Good plans for a new stadium in our nation's capital on the site of the old RFK Stadium.
38:08Right.
38:09And he was a huge fan of the franchise growing up.
38:12We had spoken about that.
38:13We spoke about the times, the good times at RFK Stadium.
38:16And how the team really galvanized that whole area, the whole DMV area.
38:21To be a Commanders fan now.
38:25Brown on him.
38:26Pumps in.
38:27Clothes.
38:28And it's picked off.
38:30Intercepted by Jack Jones.
38:35On the first play from scrimmage in overtime.
38:38That's the first bad decision Mariotta has made all game.
38:50He was late on the throw.
38:52And he threw it behind.
38:54And it's a corner covering your tight end.
38:57Jack Jones makes a tremendous interception.
39:00And you don't usually see that from Mariotta.
39:03That time, poor decision.
39:04And it leads to a great opportunity for the Dolphins offense.
39:09Only the third interception by the Miami defense all season.
39:13Jack Jones, the former Patriot and Raider with his eighth career pick.
39:18So the Commanders had their possession.
39:20And now it's Dolphins football at the Washington 33-yard line.
39:26Me, 54, Larry.
39:2815.
39:2815.
39:29On first down, it's HM inside the 25, down to the 23.
39:40HM picks up a Miami first down, gate of 10.
39:44And HM now over 100 yards rushing today.
39:49He really had to grind it out.
39:51Marcus Mariotta, obviously disappointed in himself.
39:55But, you know, it's good to see one HM back.
39:57Because, remember, he went out on that fourth down play.
39:59Ollie Gordon goes in.
40:01They stuff him.
40:02So good to see HM back.
40:03But I know that Marcus Mariotta, he has that frustration right now on his face.
40:07As there's nothing he can do except watch his defense hopefully stop this Dolphins offense.
40:12Dolphins score.
40:13They win the game.
40:14From the 23, it's A-Chan.
40:19A-Chan down to the 19, picks up four.
40:25So Mariotta turns the ball over.
40:29Jack Jones comes up with a huge pick.
40:34Well, the first play from scrimmage in overtime, and the Dolphins defense continues to celebrate.
40:39Well, they better be careful.
40:41I only like to celebrate when I know it's over, right?
40:44You had to play.
40:45You made it.
40:45Nice job.
40:46I don't know if I want to continue celebrating until I see zeros on the clock and we get the W.
40:52Or the score here was much more than zeros on the clock.
40:58Still get the W.
41:03My clock was winding down, so Tua takes a timeout.
41:07Mike McDaniel has seen his team stopped on fourth and goal from inside the two twice in the second half.
41:20Yeah.
41:21All they need here is a field goal.
41:23And still all smiles, Jack Jones, and deservedly so.
41:27But going back to Mike McDaniel and Tua today, Tua has no turnovers today.
41:33He leads the NFL in interceptions.
41:35He did throw one long bomb that could have been intercepted.
41:38But other than that, it's been a very good game by Tua.
41:41And it's been a nice play calling by Mike McDaniel, right?
41:43He didn't put Tua in any of these hard situations where he either has no protection or he has no real read and has to force the football.
41:52So you've got to give credit to what they've done on the offensive side where they spread the wealth.
41:57They've relied on the run game at A-Chan and the offensive line.
41:59And Tua, he's been playing very well.
42:02No hero ball from him today.
42:04Just doing his job and being efficient.
42:06Tua, 14 of 20.
42:07A-Chan 112 yards on the ground.
42:10There's A-Chan on the toss inside the 15.
42:18And pull down at the 12.
42:21He picks up another Dolphins.
42:24First down here in overtime.
42:25And I was talking about all of that energy coming from the defensive front of the Washington Commanders.
42:32The Biden language is anything but that right now.
42:34They look defeated.
42:36Dolphins taking no chance now.
42:37They're bringing out the field goal unit.
42:39But, you know, it's tough where they emotionally were all riled up.
42:43They had these huge stops.
42:44And then now they see the turnover happen for their team.
42:48Nothing they can do to stop this run game sets up for a field goal try for the Dolphins.
42:53Raleigh Patterson, 29-yard attempt for the win from the left hash.
43:00It is straight through.
43:04The Miami Dolphins win it in Madrid in overtime.
43:10Second straight win for the Dolphins.
43:13Sixth consecutive defeat for the Commanders.
43:16For Jonathan Bilba and Jamie Ergolf, along with our entire crew.
43:20I'm Kenny Albert.
43:23Coming up next, the Mercedes-Benz postgame.
