00:00Texas A&M, they have a realistic claim at the number one seed.
00:05I mean, you could say it's a realistic claim.
00:07Anybody can say that they have a claim to this,
00:10and that's kind of the problem, and I think it goes back.
00:12I'm going to give you an example.
00:13The example is Boise.
00:15I mean, or excuse me, USF.
00:17As we talk about USF, they're ranked 24th.
00:19Who'd they beat?
00:21They beat a ranked Florida team,
00:24and they beat a ranked Boise State team.
00:26Like, that was at the very beginning of the year.
00:28Just like the strength of schedule for Ohio State,
00:31it's kind of predicated upon the other teams and what they do.
00:34You beat the number one team in the country week one in Texas.
00:39You beat a number 17 team, Illinois.
00:41At that time, could Washington have been ranked?
00:43Yes, 100% they could have.
00:46And then look at them now.
00:47Then you had Penn State.
00:48That was supposed to be the big noon matchup.
00:51Didn't really live.
00:51They didn't live up to their expectations,
00:53and somehow that dramatically impacts this.
00:57You know, as we go and talk about this,
00:59and you have the strength of schedule.
01:01Like, that's kind of where Ohio State, you would say, is lacking.
01:05I think based on Texas A&M, they're 15th.
01:08Ohio State's 41.
01:10Indiana is 33.
01:12And it's obviously heavily favored in the SEC
01:16as they continue to get ranked,
01:18even though some of them have three losses.
01:20And so here's my take on it, and I'm going to leave it.
01:25Bob, it's a little bit of the eye test.
01:28And watching these games of Indiana, you know, Texas A&M, Ohio State,
01:35heck, even some of the rest of the SEC,
01:37Ohio State and Indiana have really handled their business.
01:40Now, the Penn State game on the road
01:42should not have came down to that through an interception.
01:44I mean, they were winning at halftime pretty handily, made some mistakes.
01:49But Ohio State, week in and week out,
01:52versus whomever has controlled that game start to finish.
01:56You weren't – even that Texas game, Bob, that you and I were present,
02:00it was 14-0 with three minutes to go in the football game.
02:03There was no reservation that they were not the better team on the field
02:07in any of these games.
02:09That's why I feel that they are number one in the country.
02:12And it's interesting because, you know, you look at A&M and you're like,
02:15okay, they're an SEC team, but they haven't played a schedule like Oklahoma
02:19or a schedule like Florida where they've had a lot of the best teams.
02:23I mean, they haven't played Bama.
02:24They don't play Bama.
02:25They haven't played Georgia.
02:26They don't play Georgia.
02:28They haven't played Tennessee.
02:29They don't play Tennessee.
02:30They haven't played Ole Miss.
02:31They don't play Ole Miss.
02:32Their big game at the end of the year is going to be Texas.
02:35Yep.
02:35And just like Ohio State, we'll be playing Michigan.
02:37Now, you mentioned A&M.
02:39They've got a victory on the road, one-point victory against Notre Dame.
02:43Good win.
02:44Number nine team in the country.
02:46Ohio State beat Texas.
02:47They're the number 10 team in the country.
02:48It was at home.
02:49It was 14-0 with five minutes to go in the game.
02:51So they controlled that thing from start to finish.
02:53Both of these teams have had schedules that I feel like have kind of let them
02:56down a little bit.
02:58But Ohio State, I feel like, has been probably more dominant during that time.
03:02And I don't want to hear about Texas A&M being in the SEC because they've played a super soft
03:08schedule.
03:09You know, when you start talking about it, like, it's not like Wisconsin.
03:12Wisconsin's played a crazy tough schedule in the Big Ten.
03:14Ohio State didn't get that schedule.
03:16And so you can only play who's on there.
03:18Both of these teams scheduled tough non-conference games with Texas and Notre Dame.
03:22So I give them credit for that.
03:24And then people pointed out, look at Indiana's tight victory over Penn State.
03:28I'm like, all right, well, you know, there's teams that have won tight a lot.
03:31They haven't done that.
03:32They've controlled most of their games.
03:33So I'm going to leave this as well.
03:35I have seen enough of Texas Tech that I think they're a really good team.
03:39And I believe they're the most consistent team in the SEC.
03:42I don't know if they're the best.
03:43I think Bama might be the best now with where they're playing.
03:47But I think that if they make the SEC championship, which I believe they will,
03:52they should ultimately get one of the buys, win or lose, just like I think both of the Big
03:56Ten teams that get in, assuming Ohio State and Indiana hold serve, that would be your
04:00four buys.
04:01And then that would be it.
04:02But also, remember, Alabama, there's this whole thing.
04:07Alabama went to South Carolina.
04:09And that was extremely close, right?
04:11And you saw the whole thing of, hey, they beat the preseason number 13 team.
04:15And we just went on the rankings of that.
04:17And every team gets better.
04:19Penn State was like the one or two preseason team.
04:22They were number two.
04:22They were number two preseason, right?
04:24So Illinois was ranked as high as ninth one time.
04:28That's what I'm saying.
04:30I mean, you bounce around and you can kind of look at this any which way.
04:33I think both the teams have had pretty good schedules, but they haven't been the toughest
04:36you're going to find.
04:36But they both looked really good and fairly consistent in that.
