Fans Are Losing It Over This Early Unrestricted Gameplay

The Superman game we’ve all been waiting for is… still in development. But at Kyoto’s BitSummit convention in which developers from all over the world come to show off their new and upcoming, indie titles, Unrestricted made a big impression. Yair Ben-Dor has more.

00:10to show off their new and upcoming indie titles, Unrestricted made a big

00:15impression. Back in August 2019, a short free game on Steam called Undefeated

00:21appeared in which players control an invincible hero with unlimited

00:25superpowers. It was basically a fun Superman game, albeit having nothing to

00:30do with the iconic DC Comics hero. The game can be beaten in less than an hour,

00:35but it was fun. Very fun. Now, developers IndyUs, an Osaka-based studio who

00:42describes itself as a group of professionals specializing in Unreal

00:46Engine, have revealed more gameplay footage of their upcoming successor,

00:51Unrestricted. This time, however, they aim to develop a full-fledged

00:55game that will come out sometime in 2025. According to Video Games

01:00Chronicle, Unrestricted tells the story of a college student who's caught in a

01:05meteorite strike and wakes up on a new planet, discovering that he now has

01:09superpowers. This planet is now being inhabited by violent mutant creatures, so

01:14it's up to the protagonist to use his new skills to give them a firm kicking. With

01:19these visuals, fun mechanics, and a simple story to go along with it, Unrestricted is

01:23showing real potential. We're keeping a very close eye on the development of this

01:28project and can't wait to see what's next.
