00:00What I find interesting is everyone's blaming each other in the UK.
00:04If we look at all the different parties, you know, we've got the Conservatives, we've got reform, we've got the Greens, we've got the Liberal Democrats, completely normal in politics.
00:15But my big question is, who is really to blame?
00:18Labour have been in power for over a year now.
00:20Tories were in power for a very long time.
00:23And do voters actually care?
00:25Do they care that Brexit happened seven years ago and people, more than that, people are still, like, they want it now, don't they?
00:33They voted you in now.
00:34Absolutely. Voters don't care about the backstory.
00:38They don't care about what excuses you have.
00:40They care about what you said on the campaign trail and why they voted for you.
00:45But I will say this.
00:47In fairness, and here I am defending another politician, in fairness to Rachel Reeves, when her government was elected, it was July 2024.
00:55That was six months before Donald Trump assumed or took his oath to start his second term in office.
01:04So life was different then.
01:07You have Donald Trump with his tariffs.
01:09You also have the burden that he's putting on them to increase defence spending as well.
01:15So it was a different world order.
01:18And she recognises that, as you said, she has to start to lay the groundwork because she's got a few weeks now where she can sort of make sure that she can float some stories out.
01:28And I also wonder, being cynical and also being a journalist, if, in fact, she won't put a name to this.
01:38But the reality is that maybe there is going to be some blame put on Donald Trump because he's the one that's insisting on the tariffs.
01:47He's the one that's insisting on a certain percentage of the budget being spent on defence.
