00:00Welcome to day 14 of the Democrat government shutdown.
00:03We remain completely and totally concerned by all of the aspects of the Trump-Republican
00:08shutdown.
00:09As the government shutdown stretches on, a new APNORC poll finds there's plenty of
00:13blame to go around.
00:15About 6 in 10 U.S. adults say Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress have a great deal
00:20or quite a bit of responsibility for the shutdown, and more than half say that about Democrats
00:24in Congress.
00:25It's worth noting about 7 in 10 Americans believe each of these groups has at least
00:31a moderate amount of blame for the lapse in federal spending, suggesting that Americans
00:36see both political parties as responsible.
00:39Democrats in Congress have pushed for negotiations to extend health care subsidies in order to
00:44end the shutdown.
00:45That's a pretty popular argument, at least for those who are paying attention.
00:50The polling shows more Americans favor than oppose extending the Affordable Care Act tax
00:54credits, but a significant share, about 4 in 10, neither favor nor oppose it.
01:00That suggests many Americans just aren't thinking about this issue during the shutdown fight.
01:05Despite that, Americans do see the federal shutdown as a problem.
01:10About half call it a major problem, and about one-third call it a minor problem.
01:14Americans are much more likely to be alarmed by the shutdown, with about two-thirds calling
01:19it a major problem compared to about 3 in 10 Republicans.
01:22Americans, sir.
01:23Americans are much more likely to be alarmed by the shutdowns, so we have a lot of
01:25interruptions.
01:26Everybody's all talking about this issue.
01:27So they're just playing with the shutdowns.
01:28They're just playing with the shutdowns.
01:29We've been playing with a shutdown to the shutdown, so we'll see the shutdowns.
