00:00The UK remains steadfast in our support for the Falkland Islanders' rights of self-determination.
00:06There can be no doubt that the Falkland Islands are British for as long as they want to be.
00:11Falkland Islanders have made their views very clear in a referendum in 2013,
00:15at the United Nations year after year,
00:17and to anyone who makes the effort to engage directly with the community.
00:20This is not the first time the Argentine governments have made economic threats against the Islanders.
00:24Yet these threats have not prevented the community's remarkable economic development over the years
00:29and the measures announced by President Millet will not change the UK's unwavering commitment to the Islanders.
00:34The UK wants to continue to maintain a modern and constructive relationship with Argentina
00:38across a range of shared interests.
00:40However, there can be no doubt about our commitment to the Falkland Islanders,
00:46their democratic rights and the UK's sovereignty over the Falkland Islands.
