00:00At least four people were killed and dozens were injured after Russia launched a massive
00:07combined attack on Ukraine's capital Kyiv early on Friday. Kyiv's mayor Vitaly Klitschko said
00:14the drone and missile strike sparked fires in residential buildings across multiple districts.
00:19City authorities warned that power and water outages were possible.
00:24Among the injured are two children and nine people have been hospitalized,
00:27including a pregnant woman. The attacks also damaged a hospital, a school and wooden buildings
00:34at a sports facility, the state emergency service reported.
00:38The strikes come as Russia makes gains in southern Ukraine. Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from
00:44several villages in Zaporizhia amid fierce fighting against Russian forces. Ukraine, meanwhile,
00:51has launched sustained long-range drone attacks on high-value military-related assets inside Russia.
00:57Ukraine is launching a massive anti-corruption audit of all state-owned companies,
01:05prime minister Yulias Viridenko announced on Thursday. It comes after allegations surface
01:11surrounding one of the largest state energy companies, Energoatom, who reportedly
01:16involved in a graph scheme.
01:17public 187 mentioned on Tuesday. It was used to be a war that already
01:19used to be a city. The citizens of general, of the year, are allowed to be engaged in the
01:19past year. It had to be a war that says, the government has been
01:20the first one. The rule of the state government will give up and the government
01:21began to take away from the government. It was the first part of the entire
01:22reactions that the government committed. We already have a couple of the
01:23Yesterday we brought a statement about the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Energy to the Ukrainian parliament.
01:29Along with the Ministry of Economics, we launched a complex measures for the delivery of energy-atom.
01:33We have a complex decision about all state companies, in the first place, for the energy-atom.
01:37Earlier on Thursday, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions on two Ukrainian businessmen implicated in the probe.
01:46They're accused of masterminding a scheme which manipulates energy-atom contracts to extract kickbacks worth 10-15%.
01:54Investigators say the two businessmen and their network of operatives allegedly laundered around $100 million.
02:16The Ukrainian premier says corruption probes will continue across all facets of government, with the aim of fully eradicating it.
02:30The European Commission noted that the investigation is proof that the country's anti-craft bodies work, and praised Kyiv for its efforts.
02:37The European Commission is proposing alternative solutions to provide financial support to Ukraine.
02:48The president of the institution presented several options on Thursday.
02:53One is to use the European budget's room for manoeuvre to raise funds on markets.
02:58Another possibility would be to let member states raise the necessary capital themselves.
03:03But Ursula von der Leyen is also proposing a third option.
03:06The option three is to have a reparations loan.
03:09This is based on immobilized Russian asset.
03:12So this would mean take the cash balances from the immobilized Russian assets, hand them as a loan to Ukraine,
03:22and Ukraine has to pay back this loan if Russia pays back reparations.
03:29This is the most effective way to sustain Ukraine's defense and its economy.
03:34This 140 billion euros loan would allow member states to avoid issuing new debt.
03:40It would involve using funds held by the Brussels-based company Euroclear.
03:45But to do so, Belgian fears must be assuaged.
03:48Brussels does not want to be left unprotected in the event of legal challenges once the war ends.
03:54Time is running out, however, as Ukraine will need fresh money in the first half of next year.
04:00The Italian and Albanian governments met in Rome on Thursday for their first intergovernmental summit.
04:2415 agreements were signed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries,
04:30ranging across several sectors from energy to trade, infrastructure, defense.
04:36Discussions also touched on the war in Ukraine and the Middle East crisis.
04:41Migration was also top of the agenda.
04:43In particular, Italian-run migration centers located on Albanian soil,
04:50they became operational over a year ago and they have faced several legal challenges
04:55and they haven't been functioning as planned.
04:59So it's very likely that the two governments discussed ways to improve such plan.
05:04Maloney said in a joint press conference that migration, quote,
05:08is a European issue.
05:10They tried to block these centers, but we plan to move forward with them.
05:15Discussions also focused on Albania's EU accession path with Rome,
05:22reiterating its support as Tirana prepares for the final round of negotiations.

05:31Turkey has temporarily grounded all of its C-130 military cargo planes
05:41following a crash in Georgia earlier this week.
05:44The cargo plane was flying from Azerbaijan back to Turkey when it went down,
05:49claiming the lives of all 20 military personnel on board.
05:52The cause of the crash remains unknown.
05:55Turkey's National Defense Ministry said the decision to temporarily suspend the planes
06:00was done to allow the aircraft to undergo detailed technical inspections.
06:04Only those that successfully pass the checks would be allowed to resume flying.
06:10The U.S.-made planes are widely used by Turkey's armed forces
06:14for transporting personnel and handling logistical operations.
06:18The aircraft was purchased from Saudi Arabia in 2012
06:21and added to Turkey's Air Force inventory in 2014 after maintenance.
06:26The plane had undergone modernization in 2022
06:30and its most recently scheduled maintenance was completed in October of this year.
06:39The presence of fossil fuel lobbyists at this year's COP30 climate talks in Brazil
06:45is higher than ever, according to a report from Kick Big Polluters Out.
06:49More than 1,600 lobbyists have been granted access to the summit,
06:56proportionally a 12% increase from last year's talks in Baku, Azerbaijan.
07:01The report indicates that these lobbyists outnumber almost every country delegation,
07:06with the exception of host country Brazil.
07:09KBPO, which has tracked industry participation at COP since 2021,
07:14says the presence sparks concern about corporate capture of climate action
07:18and the credibility of the COP.
07:21The report says the industry presence threatens the stated goals of COP30
07:26in a critical moment for the implementation of the Paris Agreement,
07:30as emissions from fossil fuels are on track to reach an all-time high this year.
07:34Hundreds of Parisians gathered here at the Place of the République in central Paris,
07:43where I am currently standing this Thursday night,
07:47with flowers, candles in hand,
07:50to remember the 132 people who were killed
07:54during the November 13th Paris terrorist attacks 10 years ago.
07:59Earlier, the days' ceremonies were sombre with French President Emmanuel Macron,
08:04along with his wife Brigitte and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo,
08:08paying tribute alongside former leaders, survivors and families of the victims
08:14at the different attack sites through the city,
08:17from the cafes to the terraces, the Bataclan concert hall and the Stade de France.
08:23At each site, names of the victims were read aloud in quiet reflection,
08:29honouring those who were lost.
08:32The evening ceremony that started at 6 p.m., however,
08:35was deeply moving, culminating in the inauguration of the November 13th Memory Garden
08:41opposite the Paris City Hall.
08:44And Thursday night, the Eiffel Tower lit up once again in blue, white and red,
08:49the colours of the French flag.
08:52Church bells, including those of Notre-Dame, rang across the city,
08:57echoing through a Paris that still bears the scars of the attack,
09:01but has never lost its light.
09:04Sophia Katsenkova, reporting from Paris for Euronews.
09:11Ben Richards, 35, married one child in medical crisis.
09:18We need money for a doctor now.
09:20Ben, watch yourself.
09:23Employment status, blacklisted.
09:26But there's still a way out for you.
09:30It's the biggest show in the country.
09:34Bloodlust is our birthright!
09:39Set it free!
09:41Welcome to the running man!
09:43The reality is that, you know, we're really basing this on the Stephen King book.
09:48You know, it's like one of the things that even Arnold, you know, talks about,
09:51which is they, you know, when he made his movie in 87,
09:55practically, you know, it's really tough.
09:59This movie takes place out in the real world.
10:00So, like, this, our game is where the entire world is hunting one man.
10:05You know, and they sort of had to isolate it to a television studio,
10:10almost like American Gladiators.
10:11I guess you guys had, like, British Gladiators, right?
10:13Yeah, something like that.
10:13Something like that.
10:14So, they had to sort of isolate it in a different way
10:17to just make it more practical to shoot.
10:19Ours kind of takes it out, which is, it's a lot more,
10:21we saw for logistical reasons, it's very tough.
10:25It's a tough movie to shoot.
10:27This is why you can win this game.
10:29Rules are simple.
10:31Survive 30 days.
10:32The entire nation hunting you down.
10:36You'll get your family out of Slumside for good.
10:40Two stages to that is he loved the screenplay,
10:43which was really important to us because we had done an adaptation of the book,
10:47and, you know, even though it's more faithful,
10:48we had made some changes as well.
10:50And so Stephen, you know, like, had to sign off on the screenplay
10:55and really loved it and loved what we kept and loved what we changed.
10:59And, you know, and that's fantastic for me because I'm such a fan of his.
11:02But then also it creates a new pressure because now I have to live up to that.
11:09Hey, buddy.
11:10You're on Free B.
11:13Yeah, yeah.
11:17You better run!
11:20I've got a grenade!
