00:00At least four people were killed and dozens were injured after Russia launched a massive
00:07combined attack on Ukraine's capital Kyiv early on Friday. Kyiv's mayor Vitaly Klitschko said
00:14the drone and missile strike sparked fires in residential buildings across multiple districts.
00:19City authorities warned that power and water outages were possible.
00:24Among the injured are two children and nine people have been hospitalized,
00:27including a pregnant woman. The attacks also damaged a hospital, a school and wooden buildings
00:34at a sports facility, the state emergency service reported.
00:39The strikes come as Russia makes gains in southern Ukraine. Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from
00:44several villages in Zaporizhia amid fierce fighting against Russian forces. Ukraine, meanwhile,
00:51has launched sustained long-range drone attacks on high-value military-related assets inside Russia.
00:57Poland is implementing additional security measures at its border with Belarus to bolster its
01:07defenses against hybrid threats. Officials said on Friday that an additional mesh fence will be
01:13installed at the border in the northeastern Podlaski province. It will run alongside the
01:19road and the existing metal barrier on the border. The new fence will also help the country's border
01:25guard control immigration and detain migrants who managed to cross the first barrier.
01:31The structure is planned to be around four meters high and will be coupled with barbed wire running
01:36along it. The fence will also be equipped with thermal imaging cameras, which will be mounted on 10-meter
01:43high poles. Materials for its construction are already being sent to the border, with completion expected
01:49in the coming months. Several people have been killed after a bus crashed into a bus shelter in the Swedish
02:01capital Stockholm. The incident happened in the Ostermalm neighborhood around 3 p.m. local time on Friday.
02:09Police said in a statement that there have been multiple casualties, but gave no numbers. National
02:17broadcaster SVT reported that the bus was not supposed to be in service at the time of the crash.
02:24An official noted that only the bus driver was on board, who police confirmed was detained for
02:30questioning into the incident. Police are reportedly treating the crash as involuntary manslaughter as
02:37investigations continue to determine the cause. The presence of fossil fuel lobbyists at this
02:47year's COP30 climate talks in Brazil is higher than ever, according to a report from Kick Big
02:54Polluters Out. More than 1,600 lobbyists have been granted access to the summit, proportionally a 12%
03:02increase from last year's talks in Baku, Azerbaijan. The report indicates that these lobbyists outnumber
03:09almost every country delegation, with the exception of host country Brazil. KBPO, which has tracked
03:16industry participation at COP since 2021, says the presence sparks concern about corporate capture of
03:22climate action and the credibility of the COP. The report says the industry presence threatens the
03:29stated goals of COP30, in a critical moment for the implementation of the Paris Agreement,
03:35as emissions from fossil fuels are on track to reach an all-time high this year.
03:39Communist candidate Janet Hara and her far-right opponent Jose Antonio I. will face off this Sunday
03:51in Chile's presidential elections after four years in office of leftist Gabriel Kuri. While issues of
03:58security have been central in this campaign, centre-right Evelyn Matei has promised jail or cemetery for criminals.
04:06I'm going to vote for Cass because I think he will solve the problems of this country that
04:12has already been agobiated. He really cannot leave because he is with a lot of delinquency. I think he will
04:20arreglar all those things. I vote for Janet Hara because I consider that she is the person that is
04:25more aterrizated in the needs of the people, because I am a radical person and I consider that it is necessary to
04:31advance in the rights of the modern world, in the values that has the modern world.
04:35Hara, a former Labour minister and the only representative of the unity for Chile bloc,
04:41has already made history by becoming the first communist to lead a unified left-wing ticket.
