00:00The BBC are right to take very, very seriously the serious mistakes that have come to light in recent weeks
00:07and to take action, to put in place processes and people that can help to prevent that from happening in the future
00:14because trust is essential.
00:16But I would say too that the BBC is one of the most trusted news organisations in the world.
00:23It is the most trusted source of news here in the UK and it belongs to us all.
00:28It's important that when those mistakes happen that they are dealt with quickly in order to preserve and protect that trust
00:35because if the BBC didn't exist right now we'd be trying to invent it.
00:39We've got to protect it and support it and ensure that it can continue to thrive.
