00:00A number of allegations, not just about the potential doctoring of a clip about President Trump in a Panorama documentary,
00:10but also a number of assertions about systemic bias within the BBC that are being investigated
00:17and will be reported onto the Select Committee by the leadership of the BBC next week.
00:23I'm confident that they are gripping this, but I do think there is an ongoing challenge at the BBC.
00:29If you look at many of the issues that have come up over the last year, including the decision to continue broadcasting Glastonbury,
00:39including the Gaza documentary, which ended up having to be pulled,
00:43what unites these is a lack of consistent and clear editorial standards and guidelines that are applied consistently across the board.
00:54That's a conversation that I had with the BBC chairman next week and I'll be having further conversations with him in the days to come.
