00:13The th sound is a sound from the consonant pairs group, called the voiceless labiodental

00:24This means that you create friction between the bottom lip and the top teeth.
00:31The th sound is made through the mouth and is unvoiced, which means that you don't use
00:38your vocal cords to make the sound.
00:41It's defined by the position of your lips and teeth.
00:45It's a fricative, which is a sound that is produced by a high pressure airflow between
00:51a narrow space in the mouth.
00:54In this case, it's between the bottom lip and the teeth.
00:59To produce the sound, press your top teeth on your bottom lip and force air out through
01:07your teeth.
01:15The th sound is normally spelled with the letter f, as in the words father and often.
01:27But it can also be spelled with the letters ph, as in the word phone.
01:34Or the letters gh, as in the word enough.
