00:00Hi there, this is the N sound, as in the words AND, IN and NOT.
00:13This is a sound from the single consonants group.
00:18The N sound is called the alveolar nasal,
00:23which means that you put your tongue against the ridge behind your top teeth
00:28and the air comes out of your nose.
00:33It's made through the nose rather than the mouth.
00:36And it's voiced, which means that you use your vocal cords to produce the sound.
00:43It's defined by the position of your tongue
00:45and it's made with the flow of air through the mouth completely blocked and diverted through the nose.
00:54To produce the N sound,
00:55In a sound, put your tongue against the ridge behind your top teeth,
